Lake of the Pines is situated in the Gold Country Sierra Foothills of Auburn, California between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe North off Route 80 off and Route 49 North.
Our single-level home offers hardwood floors, a great layout for large families on a private lakefront setting. There are many areas to gather and enjoy the views and serenity of this magical community. You can swim or fish off the private dock. From the large deck you can enjoy the glimmer of the water and marvel at the vintage oak tree and the tranquil setting. There is a gas grill and two patio sets for outdoor dining. In the evening enjoy gazing at the shooting stars.
The master bedroom suite offers a full lake view, huge walk in closet, master bathroom suite with tiled floors, jetted tub and separate shower. The 3 other guest bedrooms are all stocked with luxury linens and plush carpeting. The large and open floor plan is light, bright and open with a wet bar and pellet stove for cozy nights. The kitchen is fully stocked and offers hardwood floors and a large island for dining or food prep. The great room is open and offers beautiful hard-wood floors and vaulted ceiling. There is a formal dining room and large nook.
There is a public beach at the Clubhouse, Tennis Courts and a 18 hole GOLF Course!

We just spent another wonderful four days in this lovely house. This is our fourth time to rent here, we just keep coming back. The location can not be beat, and the house is so roomy and comfortable. We'll be back again for sure!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a great T'day in the Lake of the Pines house with eleven people, including three of my grandsons. The deer between the house and the lake and the ducks and geese on the lake are really soothing to see. The view of the lake is magnificent. All the rooms were comfortable, but the children's bunk bed alcove was truly special. We had some elderly guests, so the fact that everything was on one level was particularly helpful. Perhaps the nicest touch were the personal photos and keepsakes that were entrusted to us. They made the place feel like a home rather than a rental and we could feel the love that has permeated use of the house over the years. A truly wonderful retreat.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This house is the perfect place for extended family to get together. There is plenty of space so no one feels crowded, and the kids have plenty of room to be kids. There are DVD players in all the rooms that would need them, and a foosball table if anyone wants to stay inside.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This is a wonderful house. It is HUGE, the pictures here don't do it justice; there was plenty of room for 7 of us with a 10 months old baby. We never felt crowded. the open floor plan made for great crawling for our baby. Having morning breakfast with the local deers and watching my husband swam in the lake with our baby made for great memories. we will be back to stay longer and plan for more activities and to make good use of the golf courseRecommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

I organized our annual golf trip to Lake of the Pines this year and was fortunate to be able to make arrangements to stay at this wonderful home. We had a large group and it was ideal for getting everyone together for meals and after golf get-togethers. The location right on the lake is fantastic and we really enjoyed our view of the lake from the deck. This is a wonderful home for any occasion with a large group where you don't have to worry about cramming everyone into a small space. The entire group loved it!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is laid out so that people can be doing very different things at the same time. Some spent the whole day on the deck, everyone was able to relax. This was a marvelous property, very pleasing to all age groups in our party. Everyone loved it! Darcy was excellent to work with; we highly recommend both this home and Lake of the Pines. We loved this house, it is so spacious and well appointed. We swam in the lake, and watched the ducks and geese swim by. About the owner: My grandparents moved to Lake of the Pines on 1978. I spent my summers and Easter Breaks romping around the lake, swimming off the dock and riding my bike. The recently built Sport's lounge offers a great fun menu and spirits. I LOVE the location and from LOP (Lake of the Pines ) you can go enjoy the water and the relaxing atmosphere, you can WInetaste, Shop in cool old towns (Nevada City, Grass Valley) and ski in the winter at Sugarbowl (Walt Disney's cherished resort)
Why the Owner Chose Lake of the Pines:
I grew up spending summers at Lake of the Pines. I think it's a magical place where you can lounge in the sun in the summer and curl up by the fire in the winter. Either season, the views are great and the house is PERFECT for a family get away. After you've rejuvenated, take a 15 minute drive into Nevada City or Grass Valley for some fun! With the small town character and historical architecture, these towns are a joy to visit.
