My husband and I spent the week prior to Thanksgiving at the Weeping Willow Cottage in Parksville, BC. The cottage is pet friendly, which is the main reason we booked it, and it turned out to suit our needs perfectly. The cottage was just right for us and the large, fully fenced backyard was very popular with the dogs. They even made friends with neighbouring pets! The cottage contained everything we needed to cook our meals and the bed was so comfy, I wanted to take it home with me. We spent most of our time investigating all the small communities to the north, south and west of Parksville, as well as the beaches and quaint shops in Parkville itself. When we returned back to the cottage at night we had our choice of cable TV, internet, movies or music to enjoy as well as the deck and BBQ. We saw birds we couldnt identify in the backyard, and as well, there was a deer who visited the neighbourhood nightly. The beaches were great for photography and beachcombing. French Creek provided us with fresh prawns, scallops and haddock from the retail outlet on the dock. We enjoyed dinner in Qualicum Beach on the waterfront, the Coombs Country Market (Goats on the Roof) was out of this world and we visited Moo Berry Winery/Qualicum Cheeseworks, the World Parrot Refuge and the North Island Wildlife Recovery Centre, as well as canoeing on Spider Lake and Horne Lake, where you can take to caves if you enjoy spelunking. If you need a home base with lots to do all in close proximity, then this cottage is the place for you with room for the whole family. I highly recommend Life's The Beach. The cottage was everything we hoped for and more, and Cathy is a pleasure to book through!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your wonderful and helpful comments. All this great information will quide future guests to find the attractions and natural beauty of the area as charming as you have. On behalf of the owners and myself we hope to welcome you back soon.

We just got back from a fabulous trip to Parksville and found the cottage to be very convenient for our needs. The bedrooms allowed flexibility with our three children and the owners were even able to provide us with a playpen and highchair for our baby. The boys had a great time in the garden and especially loved the treehouse. The kitchen was very well equipped and having a full laundry room was most convenient. The community park was our favourite place to go with the beautiful sandy beach, extensive playground and water park. We really enjoyed the ice creams too. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to return sometime in the future.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at Weeping Willow Cottage with future guests. It has been a sincere pleasure accommodating your family. Great to hear so many happy memories have been created in this wonderfully charming cottage. We hope to welcome you back some day!

Went with our family of boys during Spring Break and enjoyed every element of the wonderfully clean house (bunkbeds, toys, games, deep bathtub, BBQ, playhouse, washer and dryer etc..). And loved the short distance to the beach - our boys had so much fun discovering a different dimension of Gods amazing creation - crabs, sea lions, Brant geese, star fish, and all kinds of other creatures - in the rain or sunshine. The nearby communittee park entertained us as well. And we highly recommend the toy store in Qualicum. Thanks for the wonderful memories... we would love to do it again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
