Our Ilikai favourite
Our Ilikai favourite
We've stayed at the Ilikai the last 3 Novembers plus several other other hotels over the years. This condo was the best of all 3, we loved the west facing view, sunsets, 15th floor and 2nd closest unit to the ocean. The lanai received just the right amount of sun for us, later afternoon, compared to the very sunny units on the east side. The lanai was well furnished, ample beach accessories, ie good beach chairs, etc. Kitchen is well equipped, even to salt and pepper, paper towel, cleanup stuff, etc. even the requisite margarita blender. The unit was just as described on the website, no disappointments. We used the nearest beach, in front of the Hilton hotel. It is a somewhat small rock infested and beach shoes are recommended to get beyond these rocks. We spent every morning there in the water. Snappers bar/restaurant across the street is somewhat noisy but is handy for takeout food. The Indian restaurant above had very good takeout food. We always go to the Spaghetti Factory at the Ward centre, great pasta, prices, and large portions. We would certainly book this condo again.

We enjoyed our stay very much..the view was wonderful..we ate our brekkie and had our happy hour and watched the world go by on the Lanai every day. The building was quiet..the lifts were always quick to arrive.. The bed was comfy. The beach equipment was great as was all the little extras that are provided in the unit We found it quicker to walk to Ala Moana than wait for the bus. Jae was very easy to communicate with. Location was perfect

Aloha. My husband, 9 year old son and myself have recently had the most wonderful 14 nights at the Tiki Condo. The condo itself was perfect for us - the beds were comfortable (my son is tall and slept well on the sofa bed). The kitchen and bathroom had everything and more that we needed. And there were the extras such as beach towels, boogie boards, cooler bags and more again, available for use. The condo was clean and well maintained. The views to the south west were fantastic. You can see from the beach in front of the lagoon right around to the mountains and in-between are Magic Island and Ala Moana Beach Park and the lights of Honolulu city centre. The pool at the Ilikai was great and we put it to good use - the water temperature was lovely. We saw plenty of amazing fireworks displays during our stay - the regular nights are Friday and Tuesday at 7.45pm. It was so easy just wandering down to the lagoon to watch them. The Ilikai is very conveniently located with an pleasant walk to a number of beaches, the Ala Moana Shopping Centre and maybe 15 minutes to the centre of Waikiki. We also used "The Bus" (Adults $2.50/Children $1.25) and the Waikiki Trolley (the pink line which runs between Ala Moana Shopping Centre and Waikiki is $2 per person) when we were too hot or tired. One day we took The Bus out to Hanauma Bay for snorkeling (very worthwhile). The journey took about 35 minutes. We also used the services of P J Plover and V I P Trans when visiting Pearl Harbour, Waikele Outlets and the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. Our favorite meal was had at The Cheesecake Factory in Waikiki. The menu was huge and reasonably priced compared to NZ. The servings were very generous and the food delicious. We went at an inbetween time and got a table straight away, but had tried on another day for dinner and there was a huge queue - it's a very popular place. Groceries can be bought at the ABC stores located everywhere, Foodlands Supermarket at Ala Moana and at Don Quixote near Ala Moana. There is a general store within the Ilikai which is more expensive, but convenient if you arrive at night and need a few things straight away. This was our first stay at the Tiki Condo and booking through VRBO and everything went seamlessly. Jae and John answered all emails promptly and provided information as requested. We thank you for making the Tiki Condo available for people to stay. We have lots of wonderful memories of our holiday and hope to come back again soon.

A Home in Paradise!
A Home in Paradise!
After several trips to Oahu, and after having stayed at the Ilikai building in a timeshare property three other times, my husband and I chose this privately owned condo for our most recent visit to Hawaii. After this visit, I never want to stay in any other place! The owners have provided everything you could want for your trip to Hawaii: most importantly, all beach accessories (including 2 boogie boards and 4 chairs) are in the condo for you to use. This was amazing! We made use of the beach stuff every day. Our tip: take the boogie boards over to the east side of the island and visit Kailua Beach to catch some nicely sized waves, enjoy powdery white sand, and to avoid the crowds of Waikiki beach. We didn't prepare any meals in the condo, but the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to do so. The condo has a picture perfect view of the sunset from its lanai and is located on the quiet side of the Ilikai building. Having stayed on the city view side on other visits, we were astounded at how restful it was to not hear the noise of the streets. We both slept like logs! Everything was in working order in the condo, and the free wifi was great, though a little slow at times. It was exactly as it appears in the photos, and the description is accurate. The condo was exceptionally clean, kudos to the cleaning staff. We will absolutely return to this unit, and will highly recommend it to anyone who asks!

Very Good Experience
Very Good Experience
My family and I have previously stayed at the Ilikai 3 or 4 times before, renting condos from other owners and I can say this was the best experience we've had thus far. First off the view from the Lanai was the best view by far we've ever experience. We usually end up with a view of the mountains but here you get to enjoy the sunset every night over the harbor and Ala Moana Beach. Another thing that makes this condo stand out from the rest are the extras the owners provide in the room. They have a pull along cooler and ice packs in the freezer ready to use, which we did on a few occasions. They also have beach mats, a beach umbrella, boogie board, and another hard cover cooler in the closet. We didn't have to bring any of these extras as they were provided for us. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you'll need to prepare and cook your meals. Not only that but the price is right, I usually compare 20 to 30 listings for condo rentals at the Ilikai and usually go with the least expensive. This was money well spent.

This was our second stay at the Ilikai, but first stay in this condo. We totally loved it - the location is wonderful and we took advantage of the lanai at sunset on several occasions for breakfast, dinner and drinks. It was great to have the view of the marina and be away from the street side of the building. The condo is very well equipped and comfortable. The owners have been very thoughtul about outfitting this unit, right down to scissors, sticky note pads, beach chairs, etc.
