great home for pets

beautifully renovated home. comfortable clean rooms. loved having the hot tub right outside the front door. this is an ideal place to bring a pet-- our medium size dog (50lbs) loved the nearby dog park. although the snow was awful this year, billy was very helpful in getting us lift tickets & then refunding us when we didn't use them. very easy to contact him if/when there were any questions. highly recommend!

Property was perfect for our group of 6. Getting to and in the property was easy. The shuttle is very close that saved us time and money getting to and from Vail. The hot tub was a life saver after a long day on the slopes. Thanks Billly for all your help in arranging the property.

Great rental!

Date of Stay: 02/17/12 Review Submitted: 02/21/12

This was our first time visiting this unit. It is exactly as it is depicted in the photos. The home was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace as well. Billy, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. The shuttle at the bottom of the hill was very convenient to get to all Vail has to offer. Only recommendation I would make is to put a floor lamp or something downstairs in the living/dining room, as the brightness of the overheads can be too much for quiet nights sipping cocktails by the fire...

Owner response:Based on this review & recommendation, we replaced the overhead lights with LED bulbs controlled by a dimmer so that the lights can be dimmed to whatever level our guests want.

Comfort and convenience, perfect for a group of friends / couples

This was our second year staying at this house, first time since the renovations. We stayed in the Valley View unit (there are 3 units in the home), which is a 2-bedroom that also has a full-sized pull out couch. A few things make this house ideal... 1) close to the free shuttle into vail/lionshead, 2) hot tub on the deck is perfect after a long day on the slopes, 3) The master bedroom upstairs has a beautiful bathroom. I would definitely recommend staying here to any of my friends, and will certainly be coming back.

Ski Trip in Vail

Spent a few nights here with another couple in early February on a ski vacation, Accomodations were as described in the VRBO add and we really enjoyed ourselves. The owner helped make communication with other guests in the adjacent units easy which was nice. Would definitely use this place again or recommend it to a friend. Thanks again!

Clean and Convenient Condo

Guest: RamblinRose (Prairie Village, Kansas)
Date of Stay: 01/30/12 Review Submitted: 02/08/12

My husband and I and our lab mix stayed in this condo for a few days and had a great time. The condo is accurately represented by the photos on the profile. Billy, the owner, was super friendly and helpful and made himself available for any questions. He has meticulously crafted an impressive binder with pretty much everything you would need to know about the condo and Vail. Being able to park your car inside the garage was a huge plus. The condo is VERY clean and the location is great. It's a short walk to the dog park and to a bus that takes you straight to the lifts/restaurants in Vail. Just a heads up if you're bringing a pup, your dog will have to stay in the kitchen while you're out. I totally understand this policy, but it would have been nice to know before we arrived. We didn't call other condos because of similar "pet must be crated" policies, so it was a bit of a "oh, um, ok" moment when we read that we were to use a baby gate to keep our dog from roaming about the condo in our absence. Also, the lighting in the living room is pretty much full throttle, day and night. Once those energy efficient bulbs charge up, it's very bright. There is a dimmer switch, but it does little to actually dim the lights. So a cozy night by the fire seemed more like an afternoon in a library. If you turn them off, it's very dark, so it's pretty much all or nothing lightwise in the living room. We chose to shut them off and sit by firelight most nights, which was fine, but it would have been nice to have another less "all or nothing" lighting option. Other than that, the place was terrific and we would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in a great, convenient place to stay in Vail. Thank you!

Owner response:Based on this review and recommendation, we replaced the overhead CFL light bulbs with LED bulbs controlled by a dimmer specifically made for LED bulbs so now the lights can be dimmed to whatever level our guests so desire.

The Condo was cozy it fit our needs for the weekend for two couples to share. Owner was very helpful and available to help with coordinating with the other tenants since the building is a triplex. A bit more closet space to hang clothes would be nice in the upstairs room. Great hot tub!

Owner response:Based on this review & recommendation, we have added clothing racks with more hangers in both upstairs closets.

Amazing Vail Vacation!

Guest: Rebeka P. (Vilonia, Arkansas)
Date of Stay: 01/21/12 Review Submitted: 01/28/12

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very cozy unit. When we checked in, everything was clean and beautiful. It was much more spacious than we had imagined. The walk to the shuttle was very short and convenient. We loved the dog park and trails in the area and made it a daily ritual to take the dogs out for walks. Our dogs LOVED the snow!! The hot tub was excellent, especially after a full day of skiing and snowboarding. We were a solid group of 4 staying the whole time with a few friends from Denver stopping by for a day or two. We did have 7 one night and were quite comfortable with the space. The owner was very helpful and concerned and made sure that we had everything we needed. I would most definitely recommend this property to family and friends. This will definitely be our spot if we decide to ski Vail next winter!

Great Location, Value, and Amenities

Guest: Benjamin l. (Chicago, IL)
Date of Stay: 01/13/12 Review Submitted: 01/26/12

Bottom line (first, since this is the part everyone cares about): This place packs great bang for your buck with enough space, great amenities and an extremely convenient location to getting to/from Vail on the free shuttle. Pros: - Hot tub! Shared with the other units, but was always open when we wanted to hop in. - Good space - plenty of space to spread out for our group of 6. Good sized up and downstairs with some extra room in the garage where we could stash skiing equipment. - Flatscreen and blu-ray player - Unit has a nice 42" flatscreen and Internet connected blu ray with apps like Netflix and Hulu ready to go for those days / nights when you're just kicking it around the place. - Fireplace - worked. Necessary - Great location with easy access to free shuttle - as advertised. Super easy to trek down to the free shuttle and a quick ride into Lionshead or Vail village. Also, very close to grocery and liquor stores. - Landlord is very responsive to calls / texts Cons: - The mattresses on the two pullouts are not in great shape. Would recommend packing some extra padding if planning to use.

Owner response:Based on this review, we have added Orthopedic 4.5 inch memory foam mattress toppers to both pull out sleeper sofas to help make your sleeping experience more comfortable.

There are three units one being a studio. I have stayed in the studio and the upstairs two bedroom unit. The property is very well maintained and is in close proximity to Vail village and lionshead. There is bus transportation but a car is very convienent. Pets are welcome and there is a dog park with in walking distance. Washer/dryer on location. Beats the hell out of a motel and much more comfortable!

Fantastic getaway

Guest: Brett (Centennial, CO)
Date of Stay: 08/27/11 Review Submitted: 08/29/11

We recently had an overnight trip to this wonderful townhome. We found the accommodations very clean and organized, with all of the necessary amenities provided (plates, silverware, utensils, coffee filters, etc…you name it and they likely have it for you). The rooms were spacious and very comfortable...in fact we immediately felt like we were at home in the mountains. The townhome is located in West Vail just a minute walk from the bus stop and a 5 minute bus ride to all that Vail has to offer. Carol, the owner, is so wonderful, and very communicative as well. She genuinely cared about our stay there! When the internet connection was down, a simple email from my phone to Carol and she had it fixed in less than 10 minutes. I would recommend to anyone that you use this townhome for your mountain visits!

Date of Stay: 02/13/11 Review Submitted: 03/17/11

Excelent choice for those travelers looking for good clean reasonable priced accommodations with close proximity to the Cascade lift via free shuttle within short walking distance. The owner is very nice.. and by chance I met her when I was checking in as she and two friends were checking out. The unit was fresh and had everything i needed for comfort. I stayed in the master bedroom. It had a large tub but I'm not much into baths prefering a shower. I suggest that this tub be retrofited with a hand held shower set up. I liked the view at night and enjoyed the sun in the morning. The snow was great!.. and as always... VAIL ROCKS!

Owner response:We have completely remodeled the master bathroom with a full shower & kept the jacuzzi tub as well. We have included a picture of the new shower in the photo section of this listing.

Top-Notch Vail Triplex! Can't get more convenient than this for the money!!

Guest: Doc (Chicago, IL)
Date of Stay: 01/21/11 Review Submitted: 01/31/11

My 3 friends and I ski every year in CO but at different resorts. This year we wanted Vail but without the cost. This Triplex was a blast! Short downhill walk to the bus service with easy access, the location couldn't be better. Overnight hot-tub sitting watching the stars without any city-light was fantastic. Big kitchen for those who like to cook there own food with plenty of kitchen ware for making just the right meal. Quiet, effective living and of course, big-screen TV to catch those bowl games and playoffs. Off-street in-garage parking made the place our home away from home. We have a great time!

Excellent stay! Great place, a wonderful experience Guest: Pablo (California) Date of Stay: November 24, 2010 Review Submitted: December 6, 2010 I definitely plan to stay here again. The house is fantastic, we were VERY comfortable in the 2.5 bedroom east unit. A great, large and nicely equipped kitchen was ideal for us as we cooked several really large meals, and the big hot tub right outside the door was amazing for after skiing. A short walk to the west vail bus was rather convenient as well. The owner is also very accommodating and easygoing, overall a painless experience renting from her. A pleasure. We rented two of the three units for a 4-day trip at the end of March. Not only did we get spoiled by the great weather and mountain conditions, but the house was simply perfect. The proximity to the shuttle was a piece of cake, and being that we were at the start of the route toward the mountain, we always had a seat for the quick 10 minute ride. The house was impeccably clean, and the common areas were great for our group of 7 guys. The hot tub was a savior at the end of every day, and we really couldn't have asked for more when it comes to the accommodations. I come back to Vail every year, and I will certainly be reaching out to you next time we need a place to stay!

Poor experience at the end of it all.....

Guest: CDMor (Boston)
Date of Stay: 03/07/10 Review Submitted: 04/27/10

I had told the owner/renter I would wait to write a review until some in-the-works resolutions were in place and our experience could be ended on a brighter note - but after 3 weeks of being ignored on those deserved make goods, I'm fed up and writing the review of our experience w/ this condo. We arrived Sat at 3pm (check-in time) after traveling since 5amEST. We received very clear instructions via email as to where to park / codes to use for doors for the specific unit we rented (the east unit). We chose the unit for its more spacious layout, and it was listed in our contract. When we arrived, 2 cars were in our 'designated spot', and low and behold, our unit was occupied by a family! Luckily - the other unit's door was unlocked (as we didn't have the code to get in) - unluckily, it had been occupied up until that day, and had NOT been cleaned and made ready for any next guests. Called the owner, who moved into fix-it mode, blaming her 'move across country' that week for the mix-up, and said the cleaners would be over pronto. Unable to unpack or unwind, we assessed the house before heading for a drink/grocery store to bide our time. Realizing we had no large pan to cook in (only 1 small 5/6-inch pan, and later we realized no large pot either), we also confirmed we'd like more 'tools' for cooking - the owner agreed we could buy/leave there, and she'd refund us when she paid back our deposit. 3 hrs later (post 6pm, after traveling for 15+ hrs), we arrived to a clean condo to move in. The condo is 'good' (to rate it) - new furnishing is nice, but it's missing some key detail to feel at home - no closets/dressers in the bedroom to unpack clothes in (lived out of suitcases for 1 week), no bedside tables/lamps, 1 couch in the living room to sit on (for 4 adults, not suffice). But location was good, fire was relaxing, hot tub a nice treat, and morning sun a nice feature. At vaca end, I emailed the owner our receipts for the pots & confirmed she'd refund our deposit minus cleaning, plus the payback on pots. We were refunded less than owed back & no pot/pan money. Turns out, she passed on fees she incurs in using paypal to pay her the rent (her preferred payer, and the only payment option she provided to me via email) to us the renter without warning/upfront acknowledgement, etc. After pushing back - she agreed to NOT pass the fee onto us & pay back full. Has YET to happen. Overall - locale/$ was not worth this hassle, and I do NOT recommend this place.

Owner response:This home is under new management effective October 2011. With this transition, I have addressed the issues called out in this review. -- the home has been remodeled and fully stocked with amenities -- new management is highly responsive -- a comprehensive welcome package is provided in advance of stay -- all payment options available - e-check and credit card -- we encourage guests to use damage insurance through VRBO in lieu of damage deposit Please take a moment to scan the reviews on my property after Oct 2011 - you can see the difference!

Our party thoroughly enjoyed staying in this townhome. The unit was well updated and very convenient. The in-town bus stop was right down the street. The hot tub was an added bonus and great after a long day on the slopes. The amenities and location make this property such a great value. Billy and Leigh Ann were delightful to work with and made everything hassle free. We will definitely be be staying here again!
