This beautiful newly renovated large home (3300 sq ft) sits on a quiet lake in the exclusive Mariners section of Palmetto Dunes. You can sit on the dock and enjoy the wildlife, seeing Great Blue Herons, White Egrets, and fish or feed the turtles. You can take the FREE kayak (seats 2) for a leisurely paddle,and see Ospreys flying by. Fish from our dock or the kayak.
This home is nestled in a neighborhood surrounded by the world famous Robert Trent Jones Golf Course, and there are two other renowned golf courses in Palmetto Dunes. There is a large deck and a large swimming pool and the pristine four mile long ocean beach is a five minute bike ride away. There are canoes, kayaks for rent and use on the eleven mile long lagoon and bicycles for rent at the outfitters three minutes down the road by car. Other services for guests include The Palmetto Dunes Buggy which is shuttle service to the beach or shopping and restaurants at shelter cove. Palmetto Dunes also offers one of the top tennis resorts in the country.
This home is 3,300 sq ft, and is a wooded property separated from the neighbors. It has 4 bedrooms that sleep 8, & can accomadate 2 more on a queen sleeper sofa in a private office for a total of 10 (for an additional fee.) There is a queen in the master and 4 twins in the other 2 bedrooms upstairs. The downstairs bedroom has twins combined as a king. Three full bathrooms, living room with fireplace, large den with 32 inch TV, cable, DVD, and a stereo CD/radio system. There is also a TV in the master BR and the downstairs bedroom, which is set up as a king.
The Kitchen is large with an Island,Stainless steel Appliances,silestone counter tops and cherry cabinets. There is a table for 4 in the kitchen. The dining room table seats up to 8-10.
The screened in porch is perfect place to relax in the evening.The pool is large 15 by 30 feet (some rentals have tiny pools)and the kids can really swim. There is a table for 6, a high top table for 4, 4 additional chairs and 4 lounge chairs on the deck as well as a stainless steel three burner barbacue. In the corner of the pool is a heated spa.
We have a two person kayak for use on the lake included at no charge.
Our house is in a quiet neighborhood safe for bike riding,and taking walks. High speed internet (WIFI)is provided with an office desk and chair.

we were very pleased with the home... what alot of space. the front of home is deceiving... what makes this home special are the owners karl and eileen... so approachable and helpful. what's even better is the pantry has spices etc.. we fly each time we come down. other homes that we rent have no spices, beach chairs, coolers, etc.. we have to buy everything then leave it behind or throw it out. karl and eileen take any food left behind to needy or leave it for next family,,, the corporations that we rented from make us throw everything out. such a waste. renting from an owner directly is cost efficent and friendlier. great time. thank you karl and eileen.

This was my family's first visit to HHI (I'd been there before). Everyone had a FABULOUS time and the house just made it that much better. Lots of space. Nice and quiet. Great pool & spa. Had fun feeding the turtles and alligator in the lagoon, as well as kayaking. First floor master for my in-laws was great. Easy 5 minute bike ride to the beach (a bit of a hike if you're walking, but doable). Had a couple of small maintenance issues while there, but the owners took care of them promptly. They also checked the pool a couple times during the week. Very nice people! We liked it so much we've already planned to rent the same house again next year!!!
Recommended for:Age 55+, families with teenagers.

Eileen and Karl, Our family had the most wonderful Thanksgiving vacation in your home on HHI! EVERYTHING was perfect. When stocking the kicthen, you thought of EVERYTHING! We only needed food...shopping was very convenient to Pametto Dunes. Your home has EVERYTHING!! We enjoyed the kayak and hot tub...we even played some board games we found on the shelf in the den. Thank you for the very exact directions to the house. It was so wasy to find. Having the first floor bedroom was helpful for my elderly parents. They did not have to negotiate the stairs. The home was perfect for 5 adults, 2 children and 3 small dogs! We will definitely stay in touch to visit again. Thank you for thinking of everything and having it readily available for us to use!

Thanks for a wonderful vacation! This was our second trip to Hilton Head and we weren't disappointed. Your home is beautiful. It's very comfortable and well appointed. We loved the back yard and enjoyed the turtles, wild birds and even a couple of deer that passed by. The neighbors were friendly, the golf courses were great, the beaches were clean and only a short bike ride away. I don't think there's a bad restaurant on the island. We were able to visit Savannah again and it remains one of our favorite cities. Thanks again for a wonderful month's vacation and hopefully you'll see us again next year.

We just got back from a week vacation at 68 Port Tack. All I can say is this place was (and is) perfect! I searched for a long time for a 3-4 bedroom house that was kid (2 year old) and dog (we brought 3) friendly - AND THIS IS IT! It was perfect in every way. The house is HUGE (2 story) and is very open. 1 bedroom is on the main level - this was perfect for my grandmother. The master and 2 other bedrooms are upstairs. The pool is lots of fun and a great size. The lot is very private (lots of trees) and is a great size for pets. All the furniture is comfortable. We loved feeding the turtles and even got to see a gator in the lake. The street is very quiet (perfect for riding bikes). We will 100% go back to this house!! Plus Eileen and Karl are awesome - I must have e-mailed them 400 times.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family. We had an incredible vacation and what a fabulous home. Everything in the house was new and extremely clean. It is very spacious and looks just exactly like the pictures. Our children really enjoyed feeding the turles off the dock every day. The pool is so large that we could all swim at one time. We all enjoyed watching the blue heron on the lake - he visited us every day during our stay. We appreciate the gas grill and the kitchen is larger than ours at home. You thought of everything. Thanks for the memories our family made during this trip. We definitely would like to return next summer.

What a great place! We rented this terrific home for a week in June and had the best family vacation ever. Although there are lots of great eating places in the area, we used this home's awesome kitchen and outdoor grill many times as it was just too wonderful to enjoy the pool and spa while we ate relaxing home-cooked meals. My family especially loved feeding the turtles from the peer and renting bikes to check out the neighborhood. The home looks just like the photos...maybe even better. Life is short...have fun in this great vacation spot! I highly recommend it!!Karen

We were pleasantly supprised with this lovely home. The owners thought of everything! We stay every year in Palmetto Dunes and by far this was thas most peaceful and spacious home we have rented yet. This is the best kept secret on HHI! After years of renting vacation homes, this home offered the best of everything and also the best value. Karl and Eileen make sure to take care of all the little things that other places take for granted. We've really enjoyed ourselves.
