Map & Owner's Profile
Great Location, Great Amenites, Create Fun Summer Memories.
Year Purchased: 1993
Why the Owner Chose Carlin Bay
My husband Mark and I moved to North Idaho in 1991 from San Diego, California. We had two small children and the dream to build a home in Carlin Bay. We built our home with the intention of someday having a bed and breakfast when the kids were grown. The house is 3 levels and has a locked off apartment in the daylight basement. I had started to manage other lake front homes for summer rentals and after the kids were off to college we decided that we too would offer our home for summer rentals. Last summer instead of making it a bed and breakfast it is now a 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom home that rents only during the summer months.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Because we moved into the locked off apartment with our two cats and small dog we like to allow our guests to bring their small furry loved one. This house has a nice grassy front yard that most lake front homes don't offer. We have lots of water toys that are available to our guests. We found that our guests appreciated the personal contact and information we could share about the area.
In the quaint town of Harrison Idaho you will find a bike rental shop to rent bikes and hop on the 70 mile bike path that runs along the chain lakes and Lake CDA
This resort has summer activities for hiking. Taking a gondola to the top of the mountain.

The property exactly as listed. Very clean and up to date. We thoroughly enjoyed this house and the Carlin Bay location. The owners couldn't be more nice. We have rented for five years on CDA and Hayden Lake and this is the best owners we have met. I would recommend this house and these owners to everyone.

We booked Point Harns August 6-13 for a family reunion and had a great time. The house is great. Very clean and all amenities available as advertised. Kids enjoyed some of the toys included like the bike boat and paddle board. The dock is very nice. Suanne and Mark could not have been more friendly and responsive. They are wonderful people. Informed us of all the local amenities, where to launch and gas up the boat, location of great shopping locations, and many other helpful hints and tips. On top of it all, we had great weather for boating and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Would recommend Point Harns to anyone.
Owner response:So glad you had great weather and tons of fun! Our intention is to help create lasting memories.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

#1 place to stay...our teenage granddaughter and her girlfriend had lots to do. The house was much bigger than the photo, 2 stories and 2 beautiful decks in the back. Views from everywhere were spectacular, sunsets, moon over the water, etc. It's a hike down the slope to the boat dock, but great fun with all of the boat toys. Owners added features as we were there and really keep the place emaculant. Stephany enjoyed all the spices in the kitchen and the girls took the motor boat out on the lake by themselves with ease. The water was so clear you could see the clean bottom 12' deep at the end of the dock. I needed to contact work and they provided long distant phone service FREE as well as internet and satelite dish for movies on demand. We used the Bar-B-Q, had a fire pit, got a massage (Sueanne), Mark was a life guard, took the girls on a jet ski ride and more. We're hooked. I'd say it was much better than hotels that were 2 x the price. We loved it. Gary and Stephany of Edmonds, WA
Owner response:Mark and I enjoy sharing the beauty of the area and the fun of staying on the lake. Mark and Suanne

We spent 5 fantastic days at Point Harns in August 2008. The property is very homely, extremely well equipped and with its elevated position provides an awesome view out across Lake Coeur d'Alene. The large deck caters for those who enjoy alfresco dining. We swam and fished off the dock and enjoyed exploring the shoreline in the canoe and pedallo. It was also great to see wildlife up so close (bald eagles, osprey and humming birds). Suanne and Steve, the owners, were extremely hospitable and enhanced our stay with their local knowledge. We plan to stay again when we next return to Idaho.

Our stay at Point Harns was very relaxing and refreshing. We entertained friends and took them on twilight boat rides. The candlelight dinners out on the deck overlooking Lake Coeur d'Alene will remain in our memories for all time. One of the days was cloudy and we snuggled up on the sofas, next to a cozy fire and read our books and played board games. We truly enjoyed our time in your lovely home. Thanks so much!

My family had a mini reunion (7 adults, 1 baby) on Lake Coeur D'Alene in July. We rented Point Harns which turned out to be a great house for all of us to relax in. The house is very clean, neat and spacious. We enjoyed having our dinners on the deck overlooking the beautiful lake. The lake access was so convenient. We spent several days out by the lake, barbarqueing and enjoying the lake toys that were provided. There was a canoe, a paddle boat, a little motor boat and lots of floaties. On the times we were not in the lake, we enjoyed hanging out at the house. It had everything we needed and is very well maintained. The owners were excellent hosts and answered any questions we had. We enjoyed going to Harrison one day when the weather was a bit cool. The ice cream there is yummy. We hit Coeur D'Alene on Thurs. and went to the Farmers Market and some of the art shops. We also rented a larger motor boat in Harrison for 1/2 day and toured the lake. We saw bald eagles and their nests!! All in all, it was a fantastic vacation and are so glad that we rented Point Harns. Lake Couer D'Alene is a beautiful place. Cheryl & ED
