In celebration of it's 100 Year Anniversary, the Historic CJ Howe Loft, located in downtown Brownsville is available for Vacation Rental.

Find yourself in the Past.......
Open the windows and dance across the old-growth, clearwood floors. Cozy up by the original 1908, wood burning fireplace and enjoy your surroundings, watch a movie, or better yet play a game or read a book. Set an adventurous agenda, or do nothing at all. The Loft is located upstairs in the CJ Howe Building overlooking Oregon's 3rd oldest pioneer town and filming location for 1980's Rob Reiner film, Stand By Me.

Previously a boarding facility for the railroad, the Loft's unique accommodations are perfect for large families and close friends: 2 king sized beds, 1 queen, 2 twin trundle bed and 2 inflatable beds. We have to pinch ourselves every time we stay at this very special place... it is truly an amazing piece of history.

  • My family and I have stayed at the Loft several times now. It is a great historic building in the heart of Brownsville. Local shops and a park with river access are within walking distance. It's a wonderful place to relax and recharge with family and friends.

  • After working hard through our season here in the Coachella Valley, any business owner needing a great vacation off the beaten track would thoroughly enjoy historic Brownsville, a quaint town in central Oregon. The loft was quiet, very roomy, clean and conveniently located. If you are a business owner like myself, I can easily recommend that you take some time off stay in the loft for a great romantic getaway. All the conveniences of home are there. I guarantee that you'll be writing about this place yourself if you spend any time in the loft at all. Did I happen to mention it was romantic?

  • We recently stayed at this beautiful loft in downtown Brownsville. The loft was clean, comfortable and very well appointed. We were able to walk to local shops and the park. The town of Brownsville is quaint and the people very friendly. We would highly recommend this loft as a place for families and friends to stay. There's lots of room. We will definitely return!   • My wife, kids and I were lucky enough to spend some time at The Loft this past summer. We didn't know places like this existed. Brownsville has done a great job preserving their town and maintaining the historic feel. It's very relaxing but plenty to do to keep the kids busy. We went to the park down the street, went kayaking, window shopping, went on a photo hike. My favorite thing was to just watch the world go by from the windows above the town - amazing. We highly recommend this relaxing getaway.
