Best Thanksgiving Ever!

Stayed at Genny's mansion with family and friends over the Thanksgiving holidays. It was amazing - the house is as nice (or nicer) than it appears in the pictures. Genny was so friendly and helpful, really made our stay a delight. She has one of the best views in Pacific Marlin - overlooking the San Juan bay. As we were there for a short amount of time, Genny gladly did some grocery shopping on our behalf - really the perfect hostess. All furnishings, finishes and appliances were top notch. It was a wonderful mini vacation and we are ever so grateful for having found Genny and her house!

We stayed for over a week and enjoyed every minute at the most beautiful house with breathtaking views and the best sunsets i have ever seen. The house is well equipped for cooking, entertainment etc...you don't need to bring anything, just your camera. The staff is one of a kind in keeping inside clean, and outside picture worthy and not to mention their friendly hospitality. We enjoyed surfing, fishing, sight seeing etc, but most memorable times where at the house, which is within minutes of town where live entertainment, a variety of restaurants, bars etc can be indulged, but the house was always a welcoming sight with a private setting where we enjoyed the pool, ocean views, bbq's with family, and a "few" occasional tona's and nica libre's. We definitely plan on coming back and would highly recommend for any tourist to check this hidden tropical treasure out.

I stayed in the house with a large group of friends and we will never forget our time there. The views are amazing and probably the best in sjds. The house was very spacious and had everything and more that we could have wanted. It was only a 5 min taxi ride to the town. So whether we wanted to stay in and cook at home or go into town for dinner we couldn't lose. Not only was there a pool but the ocean is a 5 min walk away. All of our questions were taken care of by the owner who was very helpful. I can honestly say that there was nothing that the owner couldn't help us figure out. Whether it was transportation to the airport or any activity we wanted to do. It was one of the best vacations I had ever been on and would recommend this house to anyone looking for a time they wont forget. I am actually planning on returning very soon and looking forward to my time there again.

Staying at this property was one of the most best experiences of my life. I traveled with a large group of people and those house accomdated all 10 of us comfortably. The views are absolutely breathtaking as well as the gardens and landscaping around the house. Looking out from the pool to the ocean drop from the cliff was magical. Many wonderful meals were enjoyed in the spacious dining area and on the patio. As far as going on excursions, we did not have to worry about transportation at all. The driver assigned for our trip was wonderful and very reliable. Walking around the cliff to town is quite the adventure but definitely worth the walk and the view. The only recommendation I have is to take a car if is close to sundown as the tide rises quickley around the cliffs:) I would recommend staying at this home on your next trip to San Juan del Sur.

3 couples stayed the 1st week in March 2011, Property was more than we expected as we were extremly pleased. Desription of the propert on VBRO was exactly stated and the photos were what you got when you arrived, clean and well maintained, yet I feel the photo's do not do just cause to the property, you just cannot take a picture of the views your getting. Genny went out of her way prior to the arrival and made sure all items we were asking for were there for us. The most attractive thing about this home is when your sitting on the patios looking out onto the Pacific Ocean you cannot see any other homes. It was really nice not having to stare down onto another home or backyard! From the pool/patio all you can see is the Bay of San Juan Del Sur and in the opposite direction just the coastal shores, maybe a passing fishing boat or two. Gennys staff was great, Beau the property manager saw to all of our needs and was always available to answer any questions we had. The cook , the best part , made wonderful dinners and breakfasts daily, we had so much left over that we had plenty for lunches the next day. There is no need to go to town to a restaurant when you have such a great cook on staff. The grounds and pool were also attended to daily with impecable care. Genny even made sure our shuttle reservations were made and even was able to scheduled a private driver for our party for a day of adventure. Visiting Granada, Omentepe and Caterina, such a wonderful day indeed. We are already planning on returning next year again and have more friends wanting to go along than we have room for. I would highly recommend this property for the active yet relaxing vacation your seeking, plenty of open space on in and around the property that your party wont be falling over one another. What more can I say , I had one of the best vacations in a long time. Best days ahead!

THE ABSOLUTE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN SAN JUAN DEL SUR

This was my first time booking through VRBO. Everything went very smoothly - a very relaxed transaction. The House was spectacular, clean and well maintained. We had a large party with us and the House was more than enough room to accommodate all of us. Beds were comfortable, plenty of room to cook and relax. We ate many meals on patio and enjoyed the pool. The House was gorgeous and in a gated community which gave us peace of mind. The views were breathtaking; you could see the town of San Juan and the harbor as well as the Pacific Ocean!! The Subdivision where the house was located was very upscale and the feel was very exclusive. Also, the House was just minutes by car to the center of town which was very convenient. The owner and the staff were great and helped us arranged for reliable drivers and great excursions around San Juan Del Sur. Our visit was very memorable and awesome. I definitely will stay here again when I come back!

Just returned from 3 weeks in Heaven, Jan 15 - Feb 8. House nicer than pictures, very clean, comfortable, well maintained, beautiful grounds. Caretakers both great, looked after our every need, drove us everywhere. Lots of beautiful beaches & great restaurants to experience. Showers were always hot, no water pressure one day, but they were doing upgrades. Fridge worked fine, dishwasher too. Cooked on the stove everyday, soup to lobsters, no problems. Fully stocked kitchen, all appliances like home. Pool was fine, no floaties though. Spectacular views! Yes the road to the house could be perceived as steep, they were paved and maintained. They are fine for driving, walking? We hiked to the Jesus statue a couple of times & it was a great workout. There are a large number of expensive & private homes in the development & they all have the same road. It's to bad the previous group did not have a good experience, maybe they had different expectations? Owner was very easy & nice to deal with. Our experience was the opposite, extremely happy with the entire trip. For those looking for great value, privacy, & relaxation, this is the house for you.

Shocked to know Cara del Indio could EVER have a poor review. This house is amazing. Could not imagine the people who would ever write such a review!!!!!! The view is absolutely breath taking and no one could ever say otherwise! There was absolutely no evidence ro bugs or mold, the home is for the free spirit and laid back with appreciation for natural beauty.

We just got back from staying here before Christmas. The photos of the house looked great but they are totally misleading. the house is located on an isolated and ridiculously steep hill that requires drivers to utilize four-wheel drive and nerves of steel. Taxis will not come to the house because of the roads. Once inside the house - the refrigerator leaked, the freezer wouldn't keep an ice cube frozen, the dishwasher was broken, and only one burner (of six) on the stove was operational - and that one caught on fire as we made dinner the first night! we stayed for five days and not one of us had a hot shower and the water pressure was non-existent...it became a running joke in the household. the power went out constantly and there weren't enough flashlights or candles to support the number of bedrooms. this was made even more scary when we were told to plug-in our cell phones and computers with caution because there were only two surge protected outlets in the house. luckily, only one hair dryer fell victim. There isn't enough seating in the living room for the posted guest occupancy (8) - luckily - the few sofas that are there were moldy and dank smelling - so no one wanted to sit. the pool is tiny and there aren't any lounge chairs on the property to lay out. Finally, there were so many bugs both outside and inside that we spent most of our "vacation" visiting a nearby resort and paying to use their pool and showers. all in all, this was a terrible trip that we hope to never repeat. the only saving grace was that we experienced this trip with good friends who have all have a great sense of humor and a lot of patience.
Owner response:House is located in prestigious gated subdivision called Pacific Marlin. There are about seven other rental houses within close proximity. It is a hilly area but taxiis , cars , shuttle services , 4 wheelers , motorcycles are frequently used with no problems.Refrigerator is functional ,so is brand new dishwasher. Clients spilled oil and ignited fire which partially disrtoyed my stove to the extend that I have to replace it with a new one.. I do have solar water heater for convinience of my clients., also there two water tanks on water tower so water is always available to 24/7 use. In case of power outage , recently happens not often, there are lithium flashlight for each room .Surge protectors avaiiable in library, kichen , living room and pantry. There is a 4 seat sofa recliner , reclining loveseat and armchair plus chairs sufficient for 10 people plus.Yes bugs are outside but not inside.as house is well managed .Pictures are not [professionaly done but reflecting spectacular view and sophisticated architecture of the house and expensive mahogony finishes throughout entire interior and exterior of the house. Clients placed negative review asking for refund and suggesting that negative review will be removed after they recived money. !!! Please read other reviews as they reflect the reality and clients appriciation for staying in my house. Thank you for readding and wishing all of you happy and joyfull vacations.
