If you are doing a bit of 'fence sitting' trying to decide between rental properties- STOP! This is the perfect place for a family gathering. My family of twelve had the pleasure of staying here last week for our daughters wedding in Charleston. Offering all the ammenities of home and then some, we were so pleased! Plenty of space so you never feel cramped and the kitchen is large enough for multiple cooks. My husband determined it lacked for nothing in his attempts to cook for everyone. Everything is labeled for easy access- light switches, drawers, instructions for tv remotes and appliances. The tweens and teens in our group were thrilled with the gameroom stocked with video games, books, table and board games. How thrilled I was to find a book I had been meaning to read was riht there on the book shelf. I spent one entire afternoon lounging on the porch, reading and gazing at the sea. The master bedroom suite is inviting and has a closet so spacious it was a perfect spot for the baby in our group to rest quiet and comfortably. Beach access is practically across the street with shopping just a few miles away. We were able to park four sedans in the basement garage so parking was not an issue. I jogged around the block several mornings and found the community to be very friendly. Our family is already planning a return trip. Thanks Kathy and Jim! Your attention to detail and the needs of your guests deserve more than 5 stars.

I recently rented this beautiful home for an annual "Beach Babes" weekend for 15 women. It suited our needs perfectly, with plenty of comfortable beds, spa-like bathrooms and incredible attention to detail by the home owners. The kitchen was a dream and we loved having the dining table big enough to seat everyone. We spent the mornings walking on the beach (access right across the street) and sipping coffee on the porch in the Amish gliders looking at the ocean. Everything about the home is very upscale and there are a lot of little touches, like providing hotel-sized toiletries and paper products that made us feel really pampered. I highly recommend this home for any group or family that wants to feel really special.

This house was perfect for our daughter's wedding. It is beautifully furnished and had plenty of room to spread out and relax.

What a wonderful vacation home. Comfortable, warm and inviting. 11 adults spent a week in this home. Had so many diffierent amenities we didn't even get a chance to enjoy them all. There are stacks of books, games, DVD's The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and comfortabke We especially loved the great room on the third floor Fantastic views, plently of seating, a dining table that seats 12. The kitchem is very well equipped with two full sized refrigerators. Kathy (the owner) was readily available to answer any questions. So well organized Informational books how to work all appiances, internet and remotes. Everything is labeled Couldn't ask for anything more Loved IT!!!!

Beautiful house inside and out. Great to have two living areas. Across the street from beach access. Great outdoor furniture. Only thing we would change is the addition of a heated pool (since we were there in October).

I have never stayed at a beach house before, but expected it to be like a timeshare condo. No comparison. The kitchen was huge and supplied with very high quality appliances, from the coffee maker to the range. Each bedroom had comfortable beds with beautiful linens. The owners of the home have thought of everything. There is even an elevator to help with getting the luggage and people with mobility issues to the various floors. Attention to detail is apparent. One thoughtful touch is the wagon to help carry all of your beach gear the very short walk to the beach. Very clean, well maintained, responsive to needs and concerns. I loved being able to sit on the porch to read and glance up to see the ocean. I had a very relaxing, wonderful time. I would recommend the Palmetto Beach House very highly.

Our family of 8 and another family of 7 (12 adults and 3 children) were extremely comfortable in this beautiful home. Easy walk to the beach, pool area was great and 2 great family spaces (one downstairs with surround-sound and one upstairs with the kitchen). Absolutely loved the front porch area for our morning coffee. Highly recommended for large families as house is built very sound-proof which helps with young children napping and older ones playing.

We had a wonderful time at this magnificent house. It really lived up to all our expectations in terms of cleanliness, construction quality, proximity to the beach, amenities, etc. Plus, the owners are very prompt with all communications regarding any questions or concerns you may have. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here the next time we have a family reunion in Charleston.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Palmetto Beach House. This house is by far the best stocked house we have ever stayed in. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and more. The pool is a great size and depth. The walk to the beach is very short with the beach access path just one house down. The house was very clean when we arrived and the pictures really don't do it justice. No detail was overlooked. We enjoyed having the board games, wii, and beach chairs/toys. We spent many nights on the front porch rockers looking at the ocean. The restaurants in the area were excellent ! We will definately be back! Thanks Kathy!

This house was perfect. It was close to the beach. It had a pool with covered shade. It had an elevator so my mother who just had knee surgery was able to get to all levels of the house with out problem. The kitchen had everything you could every need. In fact, we only ate out once in the week that we stayed because it was very easy just to stay home and cook. Thank you Kathy for sharing your wonderful home with us. We created memories that will last a life time.

This is a great house! Very clean and well stocked. Great access to the beach! Jim & Kathy were delightful to rent from and extremely attentive. We loved all the woodwork and cozy/fresh decor. It was nice to be in a house that didn't feel like thousands of other people had already been there. They keep it in great condition!

The beach house was fabulous! It was impeccably clean and beautiful. Every amenity was provided. I loved the fact that it was right across from the beach. The front porch, with its view of the ocean, was amazing! I would highly recommend this house to everyone.

The home is absolutely magnificent. It's location is great in regards to proximity to beach, front beach IOP and Sullivan's Island. It has every amenity and will make your family very happy. We rented this property for my daughter's graduation. We couldn't have chosen better. This home is fabulous! Perfect location, perfect home, great view, equipped with everything you could possibly need (and more)! The house was absolutely breathtaking! We had 12 girls in the house, and we could not believe it when we pulled up! Everything was perfect, and so accessible. We truly enjoyed our time there, and everyone agreed we wished we had stayed for the week, we didn’t want to leave. It is beautifully decorated, and everything you could need or want was there! We are already planning a trip for next year :) You will love it here! The location is steps away from the beach and ocean – you just cant beat it! A perfect place to relax and have a beach vacation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your georgeous home. It had everything you could ask for including an elevator to bring my luggage upstairs. WOW, we loved sitting out by the pool, the close walk to the beach, the nicely appointed and organized kitchen and spaceousness of your home with multiple areas for our friends to congregate. We'll be back again when we can stay longer. You made our stay delightful and were extremely helpful with all the details.

We had a fabulous time in your home. From the location to the great layout of the house that was easy to love. While having shared the home with other friends, I look forward to bringing back my family. I cannot think of a thing you could have added as it was great. Having read the other reviews, I echo every comment! Our days in this home were great! With twelve adults and one child, there was plenty of furniture to be together and plenty of spaces to be apart. Our group got to enjoy the new dining table, which seated all of us in comfort. What did I like best? Morning walks on the ocean and sitting on the upper porch, enjoying the view and the breeze. What did I like least? Leaving. Another stay at Palmetto Beach House is a definite on our calendar.

Clean, comfortable, conveniently-located home away from home!

We spent nine days in this house while we were in town for our daughter's wedding. There were 16 of us living there, and we never tripped over each other. The spacious kitchen, living room and dining area were our gathering spots, while the downstairs family room and pool were comfortable "getaway" spots. The beach is a very short walk away which made it easy to make quick jaunts to enjoy the ocean. The house was impeccable when we arrived - the 3 thermostats allowed for comfortable temperature control, the kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked, the availability of DirecTV, a DVD player, WII, and a movie library provided entertainment options, and the 6 bathrooms made preparing for the wedding a breeze. We had the opportunity to visit friends and families in other rentals in the area, and were convinced each time that we'd made the best choice. While other rentals showed signs of wear or lacked amenities like the spacious front porch, this rental felt fresh and brand new and, when we had guests over during the week, they were wowed by the home. Additionally, Kathy and her support staff were very helpful as they checked in on us during our stay, gave us advice on grocery stores, shopping areas, and dry cleaners, and ensured that we had everything we needed. We highly recommend this rental.

New Years's Present

We are a group of 9 women that stayed at the Palmetto House as a "get away from reality" for New Year's Week 2012. Everything about our experience with the Palmetto House, IOP, and Charleston was incredible. There is nothing more you could ask for that the house does not already offer! Very clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable. We spent most of our time in the enormous and beautiful kitchen, adjacent to the large living room. 9 women, all who love to cook, in the kitchen at once was no problem!!!! Just imagine! Great room for enjoying the company of those watching TV, surfing the internet, or playing games on the large table! Very easy access to the house on the main Palm Blvd and a hop, skip, and jump for trips into Charleston. We spent countless morning hours on the outside porch, off the kitchen floor, sipping coffee, reading books in the morning sunshine, and watching the oceans waves! Lastly, we loved our time at the Palmetto House so much that we called the owners to extend for one extra day! The owners and the house manager are incredible to work. We have all talked about making the Palmetto House a yearly New Year's gift to yourselves!

Christmas Beach Stay

My family and I enjoyed a week stay during the Christmas holiday. We needed to check in a few hours early and the owners and their housekeeper were very accommodating. The housekeeper made sure everything was perfect for us and made sure to follow up a few days later. We even came out the the house to help us. The beach access is directly across from the beach. We were even able to enjoy ocean views from the family room, kitchen, and some bedrooms. The house was perfect for adults with attention to details and refinement as well as appropriate for children(games, Wii, and non-breakables within reach). We had such a wonderful experience on our vacation back to Charleston and would recommend this house.

We loved our stay at Palmetto Beach House! A great place for family and friends to gather, it's even more beautiful than the photos depict! Very clean, quiet, and comfortable, it's huge with a sensible and well thought-out floor plan. Tastefully decorated, tall ceilings, gorgeous woodwork throughout, comfortable beds, and soft, fluffy towels for the bath, as well as for the pool. Everything needed to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable was provided, with wonderful attention to detail. There are huge, windowed doors leading out to the porch and it was great to sit out there and watch the world go by. Beach access is right across the street and we took long walks every day - sometimes twice. We look forward to going back soon!

A Sublime IOP Escape for Family & Friends

Our extended family visited the IOP for a family wedding and we stayed at the Palmetto Beach House. While there is much to say about everything the new owners have done to ready their magnificent home to receive guests; suffice it to say that they haven't missed anything. We have rented and owned homes on the Isle of Palms for over 25 years and the Palmetto Beach House is by far our favorite experience. Upon first entering the home, you are overwhelmed by the beautiful floor to ceiling pine walls with striking white trim. A classic carolina beach design that is sure to bring a flood of memories to anyone who spent time at the beach on the Carolina shore. The floor plan of the home is exceptionally well thought out, the bed & bathrooms are graciously sized and the home is upfitted with everything you might need to live comfortably for how ever long you choose to stay. The house is located at mid-island, directly across the street from a beach access walkway. Dealing with the owners through the rental process was incredibly efficient and pleasant. I encourage you not to miss this opportunity to experience the Isle of Palms from the comfort, luxury and tranquility of the Palmetto Beach House. If you're on the IOP next October, stop by to say hello as we will be enjoying life at this wonderful escape.

I really enjoyed being at your house. We used the house for two generations and the space worked well. Having sleeping areas on two floors really mikes life easier. I loved being able to walk out the front door and down two houses and being right on the beach. It appears there have been a few upgrades and changes since the last pictures were taken. The owners were very helpful when there were questions and we did not have any problems. THANKS for keeping the house up so nicely.

We love your house and it has suited us all really well. when we arrived it had an almost "hotel feel" with the towels laid out and the complimentary toiletries - I can't tell you how wonderful it was to find the beds all made up, too after our journey of 16 hours to get here. Thank you so much! We have all really enjoyed the pool, the balcony, the space and the easy access to the beach.

Great location. Although not "on" the beach, the beach access was right accross the street. The home was very large and very beautiful. Like new in every way--furnishings, decor, amenities. Perfectly maintained. Seems the owners thought of everything for an enjoyable stay (i.e. completely furnished kithen, beach towel supply, even games and beach toys). We especially enjoyed the private pool, the large porches, the large bedrooms, the large kitchen/great room and the game room. All great for a large group. We would definitely love to return.
