This lovely little apartment is in a small cobbled street in the lively Abbesses area of Montmartre, tucked away from the hustle and bustle, yet just around the corner from the legendary foodshops of the rue Lepic and the famous 'Amelie' café. It's a safe and friendly neighbourhood, with a real Parisian village atmosphere. Two handy metro stops and wonderful buses connect you with all the sights of Paris, and Sacre-Coeur is an enchanting walk up through small winding streets - or save your legs and take a quick ride on the funiculaire.
On the fourth floor with an elevator, the newly-renovated apartment has three French windows opening onto a balcony with views of the Montmartre rooftops. Decorated in greys, with colourful rugs and cushions, it is light, airy and very comfortable. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day's sight-seeing ... do as we do and try a glass of wine on the balcony as the evening sun lights up the street, with swallows flying low and rooks calling (yes, really!) as they fly home to the treeptops of the famous Montmartre cemetery - or snuggle down on the cosy sofa with one of our classic French films to watch. Use the perfect little kitchen to prepare a meal, or saunter out to the buzzing cafes and restaurants just moments away in the rue des Abbesses. And at the end of it all, sink into our luxurious Simmons king-size bed. All the character and comfort you need for an idyllic stay in one of the world's greatest cities!

Delightful nest in Montmartre

We had a wonderful stay at 7, rue Constance, just off of rue Lepic and rue des Abbesses. The apartment was in perfect order, and Paula Caballero's introduction to the works of the apartment was the best I've ever experienced. The only drawback I can think of is the tiny shower. Impossible to reach down to pick up anything fallen on the shower floor. But this is Paris, and oftentimes the showers are small. The tiny lift was a godsend for us and our luggage. Great for the over 55 crowd. The only bad food experience we had was the abysmally slow service and cold food at Restaurant Le Basilic between rue Joseph de Maistre and rue Lepic But, on a positive note, there are fabulous shops and restaurants in just a moment's walk in either direction out the door. We had wonderful meals and excellent service at Le Chinon (fabulous crepes, on rue des Abbesses) and and Autour de Midi (delicious food, great live jazz downstairs, on rue Lepic). I'd highly recommend this lovely apartment for its charm, proximity to everything in Montmartre, its cleanliness, and the excellent attention to detail given by Paula Caballero at Frenchy Rentals.

First of all, I feel awful that it has taken me so long to post my review...especially considering how much I enjoyed my stay at this apartment....I stayed at the Constance during the first week of April 2011 w/ both my husband and sister. This was our 2nd time in Paris and we can truly say that by staying at the Constance, we felt as though we got a true taste of what living in Paris is like. The location is perfect...accessible to both the Metro (subway) and many bus stops. We personally used the bus system for most of our sightseeing...had no trouble getting to the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees using only the bus. The highlight of our day was stopping by the little crepe stand (near the Quick Burger place)...they have the best crepes! (warm mellted butter and sugar....simply the best.) This apartment is in a great location...so many shops nearby...2 grocery stores, bread shops, pastry shops, pharmacy, etc. Best of all, dealing with Paula C. was a pleasure. She always took time to respond to my emails and even recommended some allergy medication for me---(Thanks Paula...I found the same one here in Houston and have been using it ever since!) If there were only one thing I could find to complain about is the creaky floors...of course, they should be creaky since they are wood and are probably very old...after 9:00pm you must walk around very quietly so as not to make noise that would disturb the elderly tenants...other than that, everything else was beyond excellent...the building was safe and we never had issues with noise coming from any of the other apartments...as a matter of fact, during our week-stay we only ran into one other tenant in the building. Again, I highly recommend the Constance! An authentic slice of Paris life!

Stay in the 18th

We stayed at this property from June 19-24, 2011. There were 3 of us including our 12 year old. Simply put- great apartment and great experience. Location is awesome- you have Blanche and Abessess metro stations very close (Blanche is 5 minutes tops). Everything you need is a half a block away- fruit, bread, wine, meat, cafes galore, ATMs, dry cleaning, etc. Staying in the 18th was special. You get a feel for a cross-section and side of Paris that is not evident around the 'big' attractions. The apartment is decorated very nice and well furnished. A single person elevator is nice when you have groceries or luggage. The neighborhood felt very safe, no issues or concerns. Particulars that I would want to know if looking: 1. The fold out couch/sleeper was perfect for our 12 year old. He said it was the most comfortable bed he had our whole time in France. My wife and I would probably not have fit too good, but it is great for one. 2. There is no AC, but we had no issues during our stay. We opened the windows in the afternoon and evening and used the fan to get a nice cross breeze. We had to close at night because it got too chilly with the windows open. Highs were in the low 80's a couple of days we were there. 3. With the windows open you do hear some street noise. With them closed, it is very quiet. We did not hear anything from other neighbors or apartments around us. No issues or concerns with noise. 4. TV and web access was nice if needed. 2 or 3 English channels. 5. Washing machine was great for small loads. Detergent was even provided! Drying rack for clothes. 6. The small balcony was nice. 7. The kitchen has stove, fridge, coffee pot, microwave. Everything you need. All dishes, etc. Furnished nice! That's it. The apartment is Parisian small, but perfect for 2 or 3 with a perfect location. We would stay there again without hesitation. Communication and check in with Paula is great- you will not get better help or service. The area is a bustling center of activity all day and night. Walk the streets around 0730 one morning while you are there and see it in a different light- great memories. We highly recommend the 18th and this apartment. Paula will help you. Thanks again!

This apartment is amazing, very clean and tastefully decorated. The bedroom is big and the bed very comfortable, the kitchen is fully equiped and the living room very relaxing after a long day walking around Paris... The neighborhood is great, everything you need is at hand (metro, grocerie stores, bakeries, etc.) Frenchy Rentals, the agency, is great too! Everything was clear, no bad surprises, plus they're helpfull and very nice! Don't hesitate, you won't regret!

Our stay was magnificent in this charming apartment. It was spacious and we had nothing to ask for. The owner has thought of everything for the comfort of the renter. I couldn't believe there was a blow dryer for hair and an iron and ironing board!! The kitchen is more like a kitchenette but served us well. Everything was in very good working order. The furniture was very comfortable, both bed and couch. We were very close to a metro stop and to restaurants and shops. We loved that we could walk up to the Sacre Coeur artists area in the evenings and take in the view as well as have a relaxing drink. It is so charming in this area. We even had a telephone. And the book in the living room with details of transportation and places to see while here was very helpful. This was better than staying in a hotel. Super quiet during our stay. We have no complaints except that we should have stayed longer and the weather could have been better. We definitely would stay here again and hope that we can go back soon. Compliments to the establishment - we felt everything was A one.

An affordable cozy flat in a perfect area that captures the essence of Parisian life

This is the second time I have dealt with Frenchy Rentals and each time I was looked after by Paula. I loved their web site and all their apartments include a large number of photos for each flat and clearly outlines the amenities of each, plus you can google each location. I loved dealing with Paula since she responded to all my emails within 24 hours and no question was too silly for her to answer. I made my payments through Pay Pal using my Mastercard which is a very efficient, secure, safe method and I always received my damage deposit within 2 weeks of returning to Canada. The price that is quoted for each flat is exactly what you pay...no hidden costs. The building was a typical Parisian apartment in excellent shape. The cozy, immaculately clean apartment consisted of a small kitchen that had everything you would need to provide a meal including lovely dishes, utensils, wine glasses, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, cooking oil, salt, pepper, etc. The living room was long and narrow with an L-shaped sofa with tons of pillows so you could prop yourself up while reading thru' more then a dozen Paris tour guides(in English), or watching the BBC or NBC in English, on a flat screen TV, and a small table where I ate all my meals. The bedroom had a wonderfully comfortable king-sized bed and a desk where I set up my lap top and was able to use their wireless internet.(be sure you pack your electrical adapter) The newly tiled and decorated bathroom had a shower with a removable "wand", plenty of hot water and water pressure , a large supply of soft bath towels, hair shampoo, hand soap...and best of all, a heated towel rack where you could hang your underwear and socks for quick drying. Although the balcony was only 34 inches wide it went the full length of the apartment and had a small table and two chairs, and you could access the balcony by all three large 4'x6' windows. I only ever passed two people on the stairs in my 11 day stay. All in all, it was a very quiet building and it had an elevator ,but I preferred walking up the wide well-lit winding stairway. I am a 61 year old woman traveling alone carrying only a nap sack and a wheeled carry-on so it was great to have a clothes washer thus reducing the number of things I had to pack. The Montmartre area is now my most favorite area to stay, and I would come back in a heart beat . Paula helped make it an absolutely wonderful experience, and I plan on using frenchyrentals again in the very near future.
