Ptarmigan Mountain house description
If you want your accommodations in Summit county to have a Spa, be located five minute walking distance from restaurants, have daily or weekly maid service, and have a washer and a dryer:
OUR PLACE IS NOT, repeat, NOT FOR YOU
However, if you are looking for a place that is fairly secluded, away from the noise of busy streets and the people in the next room or building, then our place is definitely for you. Enjoy your mountain vacation in our cozy mountain home. This is a home with all the amenities necessary for a pleasant vacation. This is our family's second home so it provides everything you need for family living. It is located less than five minutes by car from beautiful downtown Silverthorne and many fine restaurants a few minutes away.
The view is spectacular from the wide sun deck that spans the entire south side of the house. The view includes Lake Dillon, The Ten Mile Range, The Gore Range, and the Continental Divide. The cabin is located on nearly three acres of land and is surrounded on three sides with lodge pole pine and aspen. This provides a secluded setting that isolates you from the nearby houses and gives the feeling of being in the mountains by yourself. The cabin is set well back from the road so there is no noise from passing cars.
A comfortable living room with chairs, a sofa, and a large fireplace is the perfect place to spend an evening. An ample supply of firewood is provided. Cable TV, DVD player, and VCR can be enjoyed at any time. There even is a fairly large selection of some old classic movies to be viewed.
The two bedrooms each have a full double bed with electric blankets for the cooler nights. As stated above, our place sleeps four. The caveat on that is that the four are two pairs of people who have no problem sleeping in the same bed with each other. Our place is not big enough for someone to throw out a sleeping bag on the floor. The bedrooms are not even large enough to accommodate a baby crib.
All linens are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas range, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. All utensils are available to prepare a complete meal for those wishing to eat in. A gas grill is provided for those desiring to barbecue.
