Adagio means to play at a slower pace. Our light and airy contemporary home invites you to slow down and rejuvenate.
Enjoy views of the ocean and the meadow from the deck, living room, and dining room. Relax at night in the hot tub under a star-studded sky. There's a telescope for whale watching and wildlife watching. Wireless high-speed internet access is also provided.
The house is on the west side of the highway (ocean side) and has an inverted floor plan that offers broad views of ocean, meadow and woods from upstairs (kitchen, dining, and living areas), with vaulted ceilings and large windows all around.
The three bedrooms are downstairs decorated in contemporary colors and styles and very private. The master bedroom (king bed) has a private bath with jacuzzi. The other bedrooms share a bath. Upstairs is a half-bathroom. We have wireless internet and the family room has TV, stereo, DVD, VCR, and a library of books, tapes, games, jigsaw puzzles, music and movies. There is a foldout sofabed in the family room. The twin bedroom also has a TV and DVD.
A trailhead for the ten-mile bluff trail is directly across from the house. It follows a gorgeous coastline and leads to several beaches. You'll find crashing waves, harbor seals, tide pools, and a variety of shore birds.
You're a short walk to a recreation area with a heated outdoor pool year-round, tennis courts, and sauna. The golf course is also nearby. The town of Gualala, five mintues away, has good restaurants, art galleries, clothing shops, and gourmet food stores.
Evergreen forest surrounds the house on two sides. Wildlife (deer, hawks, harriers, kestrels, jack rabbits, foxes, great blue herons) are common in the meadow areas. The hedgerow along the south side of the property is great for children who like to romp and make forts out of fallen branches. There's a children's playground, tide pool access and a marine sanctuary about a mile away.

We were vacationing in a nearby house when we discovered Adagio for sale. It didn't take long to decide we wanted it. The family before us loved the house as we do now. We've shared many important occasions here with family and friends—birthdays, reunions, farewells, and get-better-acquainted time.
The Unique Benefits at this House
How we spend our time: whale watching, walking the headland, picnicking at the beach, trips to town for great meals, shopping, kayaking the rivers, swimming, tennis, observing seals with their new pups & cormorants feeding babies on precarious cliff walls, lazy hours reading. Time is hard to track at the beach.

Sea Ranch is the special place our family has come to for years. We love this house and its gorgeous privacy and we drive up from the Bay Area when we can (not often enough!). This property is a real gem! There were 5 of us staying and it offered a perfect combination of space to gather together and privacy when needed. The master suite with its deep tub and walk-in closet provided luxuries well beyond what we expected. And the kitchen has a great supply of cooking equipment which I consider a real asset - so many vacation places stock only the bare minimum and make cooking a real hassle. The location of the house allows privacy, beautiful views of the ocean (with telescopes included) and is only a short distance from great ocean front hiking.

I would HIGHLY recommend this lovely, well kept and nicely decorated house to anyone looking for a peaceful, wooded get away. We've stayed at several places in Sea Ranch and found this to be by far our favorite. It was well supplied to meet all our culinary and entertainment needs. There's plenty of space for a family with several children or a couple of couples to have privacy when wanted and common areas to socialize. Especially loved the hot tub and view from the dining room and living room. Town is as easily accessible as the beach and beautiful hiking trails. I say, grab this one if it's available. You won't be sorry.

Spent some holiday time at Adagio and it was great. The house is beautiful, comfortable, well-located (very private, unlike some SR houses where we have stayed). I really like the floor plan and the kids loved all the nooks and crannies both inside and outside the house. I had trouble at first with the WiFi but it turned out to me not the connection! H.
