I cannot imagine ever staying in a hotel again after my experience staying at this apartment! The location is perfect for exploring the city -- five minutes in any direction and you can be in SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown and the East Village -- or on the subway up to Central Park and Times Square. The neighborhood is hip like the NYC you see in movies. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and spacious (by New York standards). The apartment is fully-equipped and we found everything we needed. It is a great retreat after a long day of sightseeing. Mandy is a lovely hostess and didn't hesitate to recommend great restaurants and bars in the area (there are a ton). I'd stay here again in a heartbeat, not only because it's a fab space and location -- but an excellent bargain for the price (especially when compared to the hotels in the area).
Owner response:Oh, I'm so glad you found my rental to meet all your travel needs. Please let me know when you want to return. Mandy

Myself and a friend stayed here from 24 Nov to 2 Dec 2011 and found this apartment to be excellent. Mandy, our host, was great to deal with - prompt communication (emails and texts), answering all our questions and enabling a really easy check-in on the evening of Thanksgiving Day. The wonderful central location means that we could zip all over Manhattan and to Brooklyn very easily - there are lots of different subways close by as well as buses. On the couple of rare occaisons we hailed a late night taxi the ride from midtown was quick - and less than $10. As others have commented, this area is full of shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, delis - everything and anything you need is just a short walk away. Plus it is right next door to a cinema - perfect for a relaxed evening when you're just a bit too tired to wander the streets anymore. Mandy's apartment is clean and comfortable - it was lovely to come back up there in the late afternoon to kick back with a glass of wine & a freshen up before venturing out again for the evening. From time to time you can notice a bit of street noise in the living room - but when the bedroom doors are closed you don't hear it - and we did like the view from the fire escape - lots of life happening down below! There is no washer or dryer but we happily used the laundry service nearby on the corner of Rivington Street - same day wash, dry and fold. Oh - and do try and get down the street to grab a Russ & Daughters bagel with whitefish salad (or cream cheese) - mmm. We hope to stay here again one day...

Mandy has been the perfect host, very easy to deal with, even all the way from oz. Everything was accurate in her description and photo's. The best thing that this place has going for it is the location, if anyone has reservations about staying so far from midtown .., DONT. Midtown is a zoo and we couldnt wait to get back home to our 'hood after doing all the touristy things, almost everything you need is within walking distance (2 mile radius). Best area for shopping, eating( momofuku), drinking(spitzers - 40 beers on tap), an amazing spanish wine shop down the road(just would need a few extra wine glasses and champagne flutes if there only 1 drinker :( . It really was a home for the 12 days we were there. Will certainly be back and recommend it to anyone wanting a great place. Brett & Caz from sunny Queensland
Owner response:Hey Brett- Thanks for the great review and I completely agree about staying the neighborhood (so much better then midtown). Also, the extra wine glasses were just delivered today. Thanks and see you and Caroline soon. Hopefully next time it will snow when you come back. Cheers- Mandy

I would reccommend this place to any couple or small group of friends visiting NY. We had a very comfortable stay, checking in was quick and easy, infact everything was easy and helpful. We didn't meet Mandy, but we had great communication. No matter which direction you walk in when you leave the apartment, there is always something there. Broadway is a 2 minute walk away and always so busy! Stores, restaurants, clubs, subway stations... probably the most convenient location i've ever stayed in NYC. The apartment was clean and cute, all the ammenities. Having a washer and dryer is a super handy feature. The bathroom is great and always an important part of any place I stay in NY. Great shower and shampoo and conditioner provided. It was so good checking in smoothly after 30 hours of travelling and having everything there ready to go. Comfy beds and TV, wifi, full kitchen, washer dryer, full bathroom... I prefer to stay in an apartment over a hotel any day. Cheaper too! Thanks Mandy! =)

Such a cute apartment in the heart of everything you want to see in NYC. Clean and exactly as described. Was continually and consistently informed before, during and after my stay. Information was plentiful in a very friendly manner. Would recommend to anyone visiting and wanting to experience NYC the way it should be.
Owner response:Hi Marie- I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in this apartment. Don't you just love the location? Thank you for the compliments and it was my pleasure to offer assistance. You are welcome back anytime! Mandy

There were six of us in this apartment and it worked perfectly. The apartment is a bit small and so is the bathroom but we managed well. Besides, we were never home! It is close to amazing restaurants, many subway lines and is perfectly located for traveling around Manhattan. The price is fair, the apartment is as described and Mandy was a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend this apartment!

Loved this apt! Two bedrooms and a sleeper sofa were perfect for us -- 2 parents and two teen boys. The only thing I can fault is the very tight space that the toilet is in -- a large person might have difficulty with it. Whole Foods is very close, about half a block away. Subway station is right there as well, so it's very quick to get most places. Plenty of great resturaunts and bars in the neighborhood.

Four of us stayed at this apartment for a long weekend and it was perfect! The apartment was exactly as pictured - clean, comfortable, and more spacious than expected. The location was convenient, just a few minutes walk to the subway, restaurants, bars, and shopping. Mandy made everything easy and even checked up on us during our trip to make sure everything was alright. She equipped the apartment with everything we could have needed and included info about the city and the neighborhood, which was quite helpful. I can't imagine staying in a hotel after having rented her property! Thanks for a great stay!
Owner response:Thanks Kim and please let me know when you want to come back to the Big Apple!

4 of us stayed here for a week and it was the perfect location. The bed was comfy and there was enough space for the four of us to relax in the living room after a long day of walking and plan our evening adventures. There are tons of great funky restaurants just a few blocks away, we were never disappointed. Nice touch on having a computer at our disposal. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Mandy!

We had a wonderful time in New York and in this apartment. Great location! Convenient to subway, grocery store (Whole Foods), super bars and boutiques of the Lower East Side. Clean and light filled. Computer and internet connection a definite plus. We would not hesitate to return.
Owner response:Thanks so much for the review. I also miss and love that apt and neighborhood. Your welcome to return anytime! Mandy
