Robin just wanted to email you and thank you. the four of us had a fantastic time !!! perfect weather we ate and ate :) dinners at a different restaurant each night. we did mooba bar for buffet breakfast 3 mornings- excellent food and service. texas de brazil, la petit cafe, papiemiento, hosta da trattoria, bianco restaurant at the lighthouse taste of belgium- each meal delicious! the surf club was excellent. the 'girls' loved the 'lazy river' each day. they passed on the rafts that were given to them :) it was amazing at how many 'repeat' vacationers there- 4x, 5x, 10x, 12x ,17x , even one couple 20x :) The 2 bedroom unit was fantastic great kitchen, living room, 2 great bedrooms and bathrooms, balconies We would go back to the same room next time! Someone mentioned you cant compare Aruba with any other place- i believe them now:) Thanks again p.s. i'll spread the word about ARUBAWEGO

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Boy, you guys really hit some great restaurants!! Unfortunately we love some of our favorites so much that we tend to keep going back to them and not trying some of the newer ones. The food is so good in Aruba!! I also love the lazy river so your girls are not the only ones!!! I do hope you become one of those repeat visitors as it sounds like the happy island really was happy for you. We just went one year about 6 years ago now, and us too, going back and back - I think this will be our 8th or 9th visit and it feels like we are home the minute we pull up to the Marriott. Thanks so much for writing in.

We were a couple in our 60s, a 34 and 28 year old, and 5 year old grandson. Everyone was happy with the rooms - clean, spacious, modern - just like the pictures. The view amazing! The grounds were immaculate even with the numbers of people there. Plenty of pools so it didn't feel crowded but you did have to get up early to reserve chair w/shade. Robin was great to deal with and I wouldn't hesitate to rent again with her. Location is walking distance to restaurants and shops (along the beach). We loved breakfast at Moombas every day - a buffet for 11.99 with omelets, eggs cooked to order.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner response: I am so glad to hear from my guests because I always learn something like that breakfast at Moomba Beach next door to the Surf. You bet I will be trying it next week when we go for two weeks!! Yay. Cant wait. Look forward to having you all back next year!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The unit was spacious, with room for the five of us (three kids/parents). The rooms plus balcony (pre-dinner cocktail / morning coffee) gave us all a place to relax and provide some privacy (which our two teenage daughters seem to need more of every day). I would say the unit definitely met our expectations. The Ocean Club turned out to be perfect for us as it seemed to be a less hectic than the Surf Club. The room was clean and well cared for - however it may be getting close to the time when carpets and some of the furniture needs to be replaced. We noticed a mild mildew smell which a dehumidifier took care of, but at some point that will not do the trick. The staff is friendly and attentive. Many remembered our names and made sure to say “hi” whenever they saw us – a very nice touch. The Marriott's location is almost ideal. You are a short car ride or cab ride to everything and can walk to many restaurants and shops. We rented a car for a couple of days and explored the island a bit (Town, beaches and the other end of the island). The Marriott beach itself is nice, but a bit crowded. A couple of days at Eagle Beach made this a "non-issue" for us. Other activities we enjoyed included snorkeling with Aruba Bob, sailing with Island dePalm, Kite surfing (not easy), jet-skiing and parasailing. Aruba Bob is must for snorkeling (arubabobsnorkeling.com or email them at arubabob@live.com)– reserve a tour before your vacation) and if you windsurf/kitesurf - this is the place! Of course we spent a lot of time relaxing on the beach and by the pool. Our seven year old liked the lazy river at Surf Club and the Ocean Club pool when he needed a break from the beach. Aruba is "as advertised". Great beaches and the water temperature is perfect. The breeze keeps the ambient temps perfect. There are plenty of great restaurants for "foodies" and for family fair. We enjoyed both. We particularly enjoyed Madam Jeanette's (wife and I), Mooba, the restaurant at the end of the Pelican Pier and the restaurant at The Light House (incredible views/sunsets). We worked Robin Gran (arubawego.com), and she went the "extra mile" to make sure everything was perfect for us. We will recommend the Marriott resident units, and Robin in particular, to anyone who asks us about Aruba. We will be back!!

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Thank you so much for all the information you included on things to do!! You guys are really active and I am impressed. Aruba Bob is great and my kids will be snorkeling with him in two weeks for the first time. Aruba is the best and I am so glad you discovered that too!!

Robin was so easy to work with. This was our second time obtaining a condo at the Aruba Marriott Surf Club through her. We have fallen in love with Aruba! The condo we had was beautiful and the Marriott grounds were large and so much fun! The beach is wonderful and if you are looking for shade from the sun you can easily get a palapa for the day. (Some rent for $10 and some are free.) Aruba has many great restaurants- most within walking distance from the condo. Overall, a wonderful place to vacation!

Owner response: OK, Pat, it is time to start thinking about your third trip!! I don't doubt you will be coming for years because once we all get "hooked" it is hard to go anywhere else for relaxation. There is nowhere better! :-)

Hello, I was the first time doing business with Robin and everthing went well. I would recommend her to anybody. Great service and fast communications. The hotel was exactly as expected, clean, luxourius with plenty of amenities. Since we had non-standard dates, Robin organized everything so we could move from Ocean Club to Surf Club 5 days later. If you do windsurfing, this hotel is right on the beach near the Vela Windsurfing Center. No need to rent at car, unless you would like to visit the island.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Owner response: You were easy to work with because you were flexible about moving. And it isnt hard since the bellman take your clothes on the rolling racks and the food from the fridge. Hope to see you again next year!

everything was fine, accomodations were in perfect order, clean and well maintained, very good people service overall, food was not so good at the pool (or beach) bar/restaurant. Nearby food offer also not very good, better was to take a cab and go to places like Passion, Pinchos, Barefoot, Marandi all excellent restaurants only problem refers to pool and beach areas, not easy to reserve/find a place

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car.

Owner response: You did name some good restaurants a short ride away but I have a great list on my website www.arubawego.com of high caliber restaurants walking distance that you may enjoy next time. Thanks so much for sharing.

Two couples traveled to Aruba to celebrate an anniversary and a birthday. We stayed in the two bedroom ocean-view villa and found it ideal for our stay. Both couples had privacy while also sharing a fully equipped kitchen, living room and dining room. Everything was just as advertised, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Robin was wonderful to work with in securing our reservation, and our check in went very smoothly. Everyone we encountered at the Marriott was so friendly, and we found that to be true of all the people we encountered while visiting Aruba. We loved the property and though the pool was lovely, we chose to spend our free time on the beach. With the breezes blowing behind you, the water is so calm and you stay nicely cooled. The Ocean Club is so convenient to everything! We loved exploring and finding a new spot for dinner every evening. The casino next door provided entertainment nightly as well. We have traveled to many tropical destinations, and Aruba has risen to the top of our list due to the amazing choices available to us just steps from our room, in fact, there is so much to do, a week wasn't enough time! We loved it so much, we have already booked a return trip to celebrate my husband's birthday. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an amazing getaway, and working with Robin will make it a breeze.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Wow, thank you so much for all your kind words!! I love Aruba for all of its choices too among other things. The restaurants are so varied and the Marriott is so well situated - close enough to walk to everything and yet at the end of the highrises to keep it more private. I am happy we could find a perfect time for you to celebrate your husband's birthday back in Paradise! Thanks again for you great comments. Robin

This review is more about the travel insurance than the property itself. We have always purchased travel insurance for other vacations. But Robin said we could buy it through her and the prices were very competitive. We ended up being delayed for 2 straight days and eventually made it to Aruba on the 3rd day. TravelSafe paid for both nights of delay at 2 different 5 diamond properties. They also paid for over $200 in clothes we purchased since our luggage was still stuck at ATL. And they gave us 2 days back from our prepaid price at the Surf Club. We would have had major out of pocket expenses if we didn't have the insurance. The property was nice but extremely crowded. Having to get up early to reserve chairs at the pool is crazy. And having to purchase your own floats for the river seemed a little much considering you already have to pay a resort fee. The condo was perfect for our needs...lots of space to spread out. Robin was great to work with the entire time. She went above and beyond to contact the resort when we were delayed and even had them help us speed through registration so we could make the wedding. We really appreciate all her help.

Owner response: The travel insurance also saved my husband and I last year in Aruba. He had to have emergency surgery there during our second week and they paid to med vac him out in a plane with a doctor and two nurses while he was on a ventilator. They also sent me first class to Miami where he had to remain for two weeks and then paid to have a nurse accompany us home to Chicago where a limo was waiting to take him to the hospital!! And they reimbursed us for the second week that we missed. All free. Would have been over $50,000 otherwise. Just to clarify, there is no resort fee at the Marriott. The $11.88 daily charge is a government tax that Marriott collects for Aruba. The floats are about $6 so not too bad. We actually go to the dollar store before our trip and pack them to take with. Another tip is that when people leave, they don't take floats and tubes with them so you can find them in the hallways of the resort and out by the pool just abandoned. And my last tip is if you aren't too picky about where your chair is, you can always get chairs a bit away from the pools or just come by around 1- 2 when early people leave. That early morning reserving is something not allowed but many people do it anyway.

We just got back from a week in this room and would go back in a heartbeat! The space was open and bright and had a wonderful view of the ocean, pool, and the entire island of Aruba! The room looked just like the photos- only better! This hotel is the place to stay in Aruba- for some reason saying you are staying at the Marriott Surf Club brings perks- like a beach front table set up without reservations! I would recommend this room to all my friends and family.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Hey, thanks for that tip Karen!! I didn't even know that perk! I do know how great the rooms are and the views are what makes this place called "Paradise". So glad you loved it too! Robin

We stayed at this property over spring break 2012. We had a room that wasn't poolside, but we could still see the ocean. We sat on our patio and watched wind surfers. Pretty cool. The room we stayed in seemed like new, we cooked dinner their several times, and did a lot of laundry with no problems. Lazy river was awesome, and our favorite snorkeling spot was only 5 minutes away. We played beach volleyball every day. We were only 5 minutes from our favorite restaurants, and our college age boys loved being walking distance for Senor Frogs. Staff was friendly, and attentive. We could always find chairs, but then we don't care how close we sit next to the pool. We almost bought a timeshare, we loved it so much. Loved working with Robin. She delivered everything she promised!!

Recently my girls friends and I took our annual island get-away. We have been taking our girls trips - minus husbands - for 11 years and have visited 11 different islands. This year we chose Aruba. During an internet search for accommodations, we found Robin. She was very helpful in arranging for our two-bedroom condo in Aruba. The arrangements were easy and we had no problems of any kind. The Marriott Surf Club is very nice with all the amenities that are needed for a beach vacation. It is close to dining and activities. We had a great time and appreciate the help Robin gave us in making our annual trip a success. Thanks Robin. If we decide to make Aruba a destination again, you will be hearing from us.

We spent one night in the Surf club in a 1 bedroom (studio apartment). It is fine for 2 people. Clean and comfortable. Surf side is very Family oriented and the lazy river is fun. Bring a tube! We then moved to the ocean club and had a 2 bedroom apartment. It was very nice. Plenty of elbow room. The ocean club is quiet and seems to be an older crowd. Pool food was pretty good. We liked the fish tacos and chicken fingers the best. Breakfast is $12 each so we went to McDonalds, and Dunkin Donuts. Champions Sports bar had good pizza specials. Robin was very helpful and stayed in contact with us while we were down in Aruba. Only thing I didn't know about was there is a $11 per day resort fee that will be added to your bill. It may have been in the description. It is walking distance to plenty of restaurants. Texas de Brazil is fantastic. 15% coupon available at the concierge in the magazine. Iguana Joes hasd good ribs too.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: It is great to have two rather different resorts adjacent to one another. The Surf Club is very much for the kids although I do love the brand new adults only pool with all the chairs including several in shallow water!! The Ocean Club is much smaller and so much quieter and perfect for adults or those with older children. I will have to be careful to be sure to mention the daily resort added tax of $11 for a two bedroom villa and $9 for a one bedroom. That can not be prepaid so it becomes the responsibility of the renter. The rest of the 20% gov. And resort taxes are covered in the rental price. I am so happy you were happy with both sides of your stay!! Robin

Myself, husband and three year old daughter, along with another couple (with a baby) rented a two bedroom villa in the begining of February for one week. We had an amazing time! There was activities for the kids every night of the week, great restaurants on and within walking distance of the property. I am a bit of worry wart on vacation but felt completely safe the entire time - even walking down a sketchy street after dark with two strollers in tow! Finding and booking the place was a breeze with Robin Gran and she was a pleasure to work with. Aruba is the best and we plan on going back next year for sure!

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

Owner response: Yes, that is another fabulous thing about Aruba - the amazing feeling of knowing how safe you are. There is no violence there and the people are so warm and friendly which is how it got the nickname of the friendly island. And to be able to walk to all those restaurants and just choose a different one each night is truly amazing! I also love the free entertainment like the dancing waters to music or the Arubian dancing in full costum right there in the middle of Palm Beach. Fun, fun, fun! I can't wait to go again myself hearing you talk about it.. Thanks for sharing.. Robin

We are having a very nice time here in Aruba; the place is very nice and I truly love the room it is everything that I enjoy about vacationing. enough room to relax and eat in when I want to and bring home left overs when neeeded. The pool is very nice and the food by the pool is great. We eat at Aqua Grill and Texas Brazil, which I can say was my favorite what an expereince and we met a great waiter who was very nice. Everyone here is very nice and the casino gave me $50 from black jack last night. We went hoseback riding through the cacti preserve and wound up on the beach galluping by the ocean what a magical day. We are headed to the baby beach by jeep today. I have a scuba dive scheduled for Monday and then we have some shopping to do. It has been a wonderful place. We will be back as soon as we can. I have to say that this was one of my favorite vacations of all times, partly because it was romantic without the kids, but also because everything was perfect, nothing could have been better. Worth the money, every last bit. I highly suggest this palce, withor without kids.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Owner response: Reviews like this make me want to go back to the Marriott and Aruba myself. I have never done the horseback riding and that sounds so awesome!! And with all the many restaurants within walking distance somehow I missed those two so I will have to add them to my list. I learn so much from my customers - guess I just need to plan another trip!!

We rented a two bedroom suite at the Marriott Surf CLub from Robin Gran. Robin was a pleasure to work with and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We traveled down to Aruba with two couples and two babies and the two bedroom suite was perfect for the six of us. The hotel is beautiful and perfect for both couples and kids. Lots to do and within walking distance to lots of restaurants and activities. We would recommend this resort to anyone.

We have stayed at the Marriott Surf Club and Ocean Club for two weeks for the last two years with our children and grandchildren for one week and one week alone, and of all the Marriott's this one has got to be the best. There is so much to offer in addition to the sun and surf. There are many restaurants both on the grounds and attached to the villas and they are reasonable too. there are planned children's activities and water slides, kiddie pools and adult pools. There is fantastic shopping and movie theaters just a block away, along with a great selection of restaurants including my favorite, sushi. The casino is great, the spa is gorgeous, and of course the villas are luxury all the way. Call me for specifics and whether you book or not I will be happy to direct you to some of my favorite things to do and places to eat. You will want to come back again and again - most people do. That's how we bought the time share last year - love at first sight!
