  We had a large group going down to attend a friend's wedding. The house was perfect for our trip. There was enough room for several couples to sleep. The location was perfect for taking day trips to St. John or getting to other spots in the island. I would recommend having rental cars because some of the members of our group had trouble getting taxis to come up to the house. All of the photos are accurate. The house is outstanding and we had an amazing time. Walter and Jane were great to work with. I would stay here again.

  We just returned from a wonderful 8-day stay at the beautiful Cabrita Cliff Haus. As displayed in the site photos, the house is immaculately kept, and beautifully designed with classy furnishings, a state-of-the-art kitchen, and beautiful landscaping. The views from every room, with decks outside all the rooms, were spactacular, from the sunrise through sunsets, with a constant parade of boats and sailboats outside. We were 7 adults and 7 children and there was plenty of room in the house for us all to spread out, but also to dine together at the outdoor tables which fit us perfectly and the large inside DR table. The adults each had king size beds (usually hard to find so many in one house) and the teens were spread out through the media room and the 1 BR apt connected to the house although we needed to rent some extra airbeds as the kids were too big to share the sofabeds. The infinity pool is unbelievably picturesque, and while not that warm, was very refreshing and there are 6 cushioned lounge chairs and other chairs to sit around. We had always thought St Thomas was built up and filled with cruise ship tourists, but Cabrita Cliff Haus was far away from cruise ship tourism, and remote, private and very special. Yet, just a few minutes drive away was Red Hook where there were markets and great restaurants as well as the easy 15 min ferry to St John for day trips. Also just a few min drive from the house were serene beaches with the crystal clear sea, great for snorkeling and swimming, our favorite was Lindquist Beach. (suggest avoid Coqi and Saphire beaches which were packed with cruise boat groups, esp certain days of the week). We also took a wonderful sailing/snorkeling trip over to the Caneel Bay area of St John and there are numerous options for these outings. We took advantage of the nearby Ritz Hotel where you can walk down to for use of the beach (but not their chairs), meals, and use of their gym/yoga classes (for a fee). There is also an idyllic yoga studio a short walk down the road in a nearby house where we took a private lesson. A car is strongly suggested to get around (about 30-45 min from airport I think). We used a grocery shopping service to stock the house before our arrival and then went to 2 different food markets rest of the week as we made most of our own meals The owners, Jane and Walter, live nearby and were readily available to us as needed and very caring to be sure we had a wonderful stay

  The view from this villa is amazing and the constant parade of sailboats as they silently drift by makes it very difficult to leave the property once you arrive. The villa is absolutely beautiful and completly updated with very tasteful artwork. The appliances are new and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The city of Redhook is only a 10 minute drive away. The owners of the villa were very accessible throughout the week and had many valuable suggestions as to the best places to eat or catch a day charter for a trip on the water (sail or power). The villa is very clean and very well maintained. The passenger and car ferry to St Johns are located right in Redhook and very easy to use. The owners arranged for a driver to meet us at the airport on our arrival. He was standing exactly where they said he would be and right on time. We used the same driver during the week and to return us to the airport as we could not all fit all of our party in the rental car. This place is so perfect that we almost don't want to tell you about it out of fear the villa will be booked on our planned return. This will be one of the locations where we return time and time again. As to the comments about the road in previous posting please rest assured that it is not an issue.   My family and I just returned from a 10-day stay at Cabrita Cliff Haus. The second we walked in and saw the amazing view, we didn't want to leave the house! There is no reason to. It is the best view on the island! The house was great...it was fully equipped with everything we needed. The patio/pool is amazing...it was perfect for watching all the boats, wildlife and sunrise and sunset. The kitchen had everything for cooking and grilling. We had our two small children with us (ages 9 mos and 2 yrs) and it even came equipped with a crib, a pack-n-play and two high chairs! This was a big help. Walter and Jane were wonderful in giving us any information or recommendations we needed. They suggested a boat charter with Dive Aquamarine, and we booked the VIP day trip--it was one of the best experiences and days we've ever had. We swam with sea turtles, snorkeled with tons of yellow-tailed snapper and had tons of amazing food and drinks prepared by the AMAZING crew, while watching the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen. Do it! I was initially nervous about the house for the kids...was afraid my two-year-old would find a way to fall off the cliff or something! But it felt very safe, a lot of foliage so it is not just a sheer drop off. As long as you keep the kids away from the spiral staircase, which is steep, the rest of the house seems very safe. The only negative I can speak of was the America's Cup Suite where my kids were staying had a very musty odor. But in fairness, Jane and Walter didn't initially know we would be using that room, and had I said something earlier, they said they had dehumidifiers that they could have run to get the mustiness out...not a huge deal. But on the other hand, that suite was awesome for the kids...it is away from the other rooms and has a living room and kitchen, so we could all hang out there in the mornings before everyone else was awake, as to not disturb them! Also the road leading up to the house is a bit treacherous...but like others said, we had a minivan and a small rental car and both did fine. Nothing is in walking distance because of the "dangerous" roads, but the Ritz and Secret Harbour beaches are no more than a 5 minute drive from CCH. Red Hook is just a 7-8 minute drive and there are many places to eat there, as as well as the ferry to St John and some of the BVIs. Thank you Walter and Jane for a fabulous stay at CCH. I will be dreaming about that view until the next time we return! Cheers!

Cabrita Cliff Haus has light occupancy from August through October during the height of hurricane season and as you said, with advance notice we could have aired it out properly. The estate roads on Cabrita Point are not public roads. Fortunately one of the residents owns a paving company and paved all but two short sections. Most of our guests and Ritz Carlton guests love to jog out on the peninsula. Its safe, secluded 'island feeling' and little or no traffic makes it a great place to exercise.   Thanks for an amazing stay. Cabrita Cliff Haus is amazing! The views of the ocean are spectacular. We loved our stay in Africa and were so comfortable - we slept like babies. Sailing and fishing was fun. We really enjoyed the snorkeling and diving. Time with family is priceless and we are grateful for the opportunity to stay in this little piece of heaven. Thanks for all the special touches... a birthday cake and delicious food! Thank you as much for an amazing visit. Our door is always open in Philly, whenever you would like to come to town, the city of Brotherly love. Hope to see you again soon!

  This home is everything that is advertised plus more. Jane (owner) was great with explaining everything. The island and ocean views are just unbelievable. I highly recommend this home. We will be back again. A good tip that Jane gave us was that if you are going to St John, take the car ferry. That way you can have a car while on the island of St Thomas and it is only 55$ total round trip. Also the best buy on groceries is Cost U Less. The 100 yd driveway is not any problems as other reviews have stated. We had a Ford Focus and a Minivan. We had no problems. Thanks Walter and Jane for a great week and opening your home.   Every morning waking up in the this amazing home is an unforgettable experience. Our group of 9 had a wonderful spring break vacation. The noise from the ocean and ocean winds were purely relaxing. Jane met us at the house for a thorough walk-thru of the home's amenities. They were available whenever needed, even though not needed everything went great. Other reviews on last 100 yards of driveway are over exaggerated, we rented a Ford Focus and a Minivan, neither had problems. The views from every room in the house are wonderful. The online pictures do not give it justice. Jane gave us great advice. If you are going to St. John in a larger group, take the car ferry. This will enable you to have a vehicle while on the island of St John, and the total price is cheaper. Only 55$ total roundtrip. If you want inexpensive groceries- Cost U Less is the best price. Our entire group vowed that we must return again soon. Thanks Jane and Walter for a great week, look forward to hopefully visiting again soon. Henderson family and friends

  This was our second year at Cabrita Cliff Haus and we had another wonderful visit! We had nine people in our party and everyone was so impressed with the beauty of the home and the spectacular views from the balcony. Walter and Jane have really gone out of their way to make this home away from home inviting, elegant and comfortable. By the end of our stay everyone really hated to say goodbye. As a matter of fact several people tried to come up with good excuses to extend their stay. All in all I would highly recommend this home for your stay in St. Thomas. We will definitely come back again next year!

  We had an amazing week in St. Thomas. Cabrita Cliff Haus is exactly the same as the pictures. The rooms, the amenities and the view were amazing. The view from balcony overlooking the ocean is leaves you breathless. We were also minutes away from some of the best beaches I have ever seen. No crowded groups, ugly massive hotels and results. The best place to relax and have a good time!
