  Thank you that you do animal rescue and it carries through to your rental property. We are so grateful to be able to go on vacation and bring our best friend along too (who is also a rescue dog). The house was perfect for us, had everything we needed, was close to the beach and we loved all the little dog touches that you provided--->dog bed, bowl, towels and toys. That was so sweet. We will definitely be back and will also recommend this house to our friends who come to this area every year.

  We had a great time!! We love the house!! This is our third time here and we will keep coming back. The house is bright and clean and the furniture is nice (not like some beach houses). All of the details are taken care of and all the amenities are here. The House Book is informative and tells where things are on the island, restaurants, shopping, etc. This is another detail that we haven't found in most places and like the attention to detail when we stay here! Thanks for having us and our fur-babies!!

  We had a great vacation! The close and easy access to the beach was perfect for my four teenagers. The laid back and relaxed atmosphere was exactly what we wanted. The house was clean and ready for us to begin our vacation, all we had to do was grocery shop. The owner kept in contact to make sure we had everything we needed. We would rent this house again...wish we didn't have to leave.

  i stayed in the house and found everything i needed for an enjoyable stress free vacation. had a problem with the garbage disposal and the homeowner was there within the hour to fix it. the location is fantastic. the beach is about a two minute walk if its even that far. convenient to all priced right and i would recommend it to anyone looking to get away. plenty of room to sleep guests.would rent it again and loved the locale as well as the fact that i could bring my dog...

  Excellent vacation rental. The property was lovely,with a kitchen that included many gadgets, which always makes life a little easier when you are away from your own comforts. Nice private, fenced back yard with a hammock. The owners were very helpful, providing information on local events. Easy access to restaurants, shops and of course, the beach. Crawdaddy's restaurant in Jensen Beach was delish, a little taste of New Orleans! Any time we can wake up and walk a short block to the beach, get our toes in the sand. . watch the sun come up and dolphins play. . well, it does not get much better than that. A very comfortable, relaxed vibe. We will be back. thank you for a pleasant vacation experience.

  I was staying in the house right after the negative person stayed there. I searched with the owners but don't see what that person was talking about. There is no mold here; the pots and pans are fine; it's clean; the rooms look like the pictures except that the outside red mulch faded from the Fla sun; owners replaced it; the TVs work just fine; have internet access. For me, I like the house just fine. I'm having a good time here; everything is good; my dog and I are enjoying the back yard and the beach; my visitors loved it too and were comfy here too. All is good.

  VRBO pictures should be current and “dated”, had they been for this house, we would never have rented. If VRBO displayed the current exterior pictures of this house you would see no pride of ownership and they would represent what to expect inside. The owner advised us they did a walk through just prior to our arrival. Seems they missed a few things! Mould around the bathtub tells the story about what we found, a house that is dirty, rundown, old and broken. Rusted out coffee maker, rusted out grimy frying pans, all of which we had to purchase, dirty linen, and this tells only a small story of the two pages of complaints sent to the Owner and of the days we spent fixing and cleaning including trying to remove the mould. The situation with the mould was immediately e-mailed to the owner who had advised us to contact them in the event of problems as they live nearby. Not a word. Zero respect for our hard earned retirement money that we spent on a rental that we booked based on deceitful pictures. We feel scammed. Shameful on so many levels.

  Owner response: We were shocked to receive this review. After many emails back and forth all month where the guest told us that things were "wonderful", she is "very, very happy" and then to hear that that wasn't true is very sad. If you will read our other reviews, we do remediate items that are brought to our attention but a person needs to tell us. Our professional cleaning company also feels saddened that there was a complaint but that they weren't informed in time and allowed to correct any oversights. This is the first complaint they've had and now aren't sure what the problem is. Guest told us about "mold" on shower caulk but I informed her that is discoloration due to the minerals in our water. Did being corrected make her decide not to tell us anything else? To future guests, please tell us while you are there if there is a problem so that we can fix it, for one, and so you can show it to us, for another. An inspection after this person left (and when we got this review) still has us wondering about some of these complaints. The current guest cannot substantiate them, either. Not being able to find what this refers to leaves us unable to fix things. We need people to do helpful behavior, not hurtful, so we all can benefit. We fix things and maintain a nice home; you get the environment you prefer. Thank goodness, as you can see from other reviews, that we haven't had any other guests who feel this way and have enjoyed our beach cottage immensely. p.s. Exterior picture was 2 yrs old and is now updated as of 3/27/13.

  Good location. Plenty of beds. Very dog friendly. The owners answered questions and concerns promptly. Negatives were old small tv and bring a sharp kitchen knife. I would stay there again.

  What a great place to spend the holiday! My husband and I drove to FLA from PA with our Boxer to see family and friends for the Holiday. The house was just perfect for us and our Boxer-Jaxson seemed to adapt quickly once we introduced him to the backyard and the beach. Although the kitchen is a little small, it was well equipped for us to have family and friends visit during our stay. The weather this time of year was not "sunbathing" worthy, but the dog beach, in close proximity, made it well worth it and Jaxson just loved running in the waves and meeting new friends. The owner Jan was more than accomodating with what we needed and seemed genuinely interested in providing us with everything we would need for an enjoyable stay. Nice little towns along the beach to visit and walk around...lots of biking and walking to be done, especially with the beach access so close! We would recommend this rental to anyone especially dog owners! Thank you Jan!

  We had a wonderful time on Hutchinson Island even though Hurricane Sandy was passing through the area. First the house: It had 4 bedrooms and room for 7 or 8 without a problem. House is pet friendly. Next time we'll bring our dog. He was too small when we went (just 2 months old). There was plenty of utensils and plates in the kitchen and the washer and dryer came in handy as well. Nice backyard area to relax and grill. The internet worked fine and the TV was adequate and there were quite a few dvd movies to watch and my 5 year old was happy with the choices. The owners had a bunch of menus and area attractions in a folder so it was pretty easy to get going without getting lost. They were quite helpful when we called them with questions and where to find things. The beach was within walking distance across the street. Didn't spend too much time there due to Sandy coming through the area (a lot of wind, but not too much rain after the first day) but watching the waves was awesome. Highlights for us were our visits to the children's museum and the Smithsonian aquarium. There were some excellent local restaurants in the area with fresh seafood and Italian. We're not a big fan of the franchise restaurants but there are plenty of them to go to as well. Food shopping was close by and there were plenty of stores to go shopping at along US1. All in all, we had a great time, we were able to relax and enjoyed the change of pace and are looking forward to going back with hopefully better weather. We would definitely stay here again.

  My husband & I were looking for a nice spot to vacation in November ('11) and I found this spot. We live in Jacksonville, so we appreciated that while only a couple of hours from home, we were just far enough away. We loved that it was pet friendly, fenced yard, laminate/tile floors. We loved every bit of it. Easy to walk across the street to the beach where he fished all day long, and where I relaxed. Our little pup loved the back yard! We wandered up to Ft. Pierce a couple of days and found a couple of great restaurants close by the house, too. We have told our friends all about this spot, from the great rates, the location to the friendly owner. Very easy to work with, and I appreciated the open communication. My only "fault" (if I had to search for one) was the other visitors weren't as kind to scoop their dogs' poop. We brought baggies & made sure to clean up after ours. Oh, one more thing - next time we come, we'll bring some friends for this 4 bedroom house! See you again!! :)

  This property is one of the nices places we have stayed. Has everything you will need only have to bring your bathing suit, and tooth brush. The rooms are big and beds are great. The beach is a short walk across the street. We also went to a beach called "Bath tub beach" just a short mile or so down the road. Had a coral reef and the kids really loved it. Jan, the owner was very nice and I look forward to going back again.

Because of the coral reef that encloses that area, the water is gentle and warmer. These two features make it perfect for small children or small pets.

  Words cannot begin to touch how much we enjoyed our visit to this pet friendly rental. The home is spacious, yet cozy and has everything you need to make your get-away relaxing. You’ll reenergize your love of sun and island living as you select from one of the many dog-friendly beaches. No need to pack up the car with beach essentials, they have it all. (beach towels & chairs, coolers, even boogie boards) The property was spotless on arrival, nicely cooled down, including a special treat to welcome our happy German Shepherd. Few places will accept large dogs, so we were pleasantly surprised to find this gem. There was tons of island and local information available clearly displayed and neatly organized. We’d recommend this spot to anyone looking for a place for the entire family. Stuart is just a hop over the intercoastal with quite a selection of evening dining and shopping. Get ready to enjoy the beach ~ we find Hutchinson Island to be a very well kept secret.

  My little family of 3 had a great time at this vacation rental. There is a lot of space, for little kids to play in the house and in the backyard. The house was clean and well kept at our arrival. We love the proximity to the beach just across the street and the quite neighborhood. The house has everything you may need, from an outdoor grill, to tows, beach chairs and toys for the kids, full equipped kitchen and washer and dryer. I'm telling you is a home away from home... most relaxing time I had in a while, hope to be able to visit again possibly with parents or friends next year.

  My boyfriend and I and our 3 boys stayed in this duplex for 6 nights and it was very cozy, spacious and had all the ammentites. The only thing we had to bring was our clothes and of course cosmetic things. It was completely furnished with towels, beach towels, boogie boards, dishes, etc. Very clean and great area. We would stay here again and I would tell a friend to stay here. The owners are such a pleasure to work with!!!! Love it, love, love it!!!!The only thing is we had to drive about an hour for our children to do activities other than the beach, but they are at the age to were the drive wasn't a big deal for them. The island was great! I would recommend New England Seafood Market for nice and good quality of food to eat.

  The house is not new, but is in decent condition. All the appliances worked well, and the extras such as coolers, beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels were excellent. We have two dogs and the fenced back yard was a big drawing point. The outside furniture is dated but comfortable. The house has 4 bedrooms and has a large feel. We found the private beach close by great for parking and the Tiki house was good to sit in to get out of the sun. The beach itself is a wonderful Florida beach. For us another drawing point was the leash free beach (Walton Rocks) that is just a few miles up the highway. The house is close to Jensen Beach and Stuart where there are many good restaurants and live theater. There are a number of very good golf courses with various price ranges in the area. Shopping for food and anything else that strikes your fancy is excellent. Everyone we met on the street was friendly and helpful with directions and ideas of things to see or do. We have re-booked for next year and have only positive things to say about the house and area.

  This house has all the amenities of ‘home’. It’s meticulously clean and offers a lot of extras. The owner is most accommodating with information as to where to shop and dine. One light fixture wasn’t working. I called and it was taken care of the following day. The place is very spacious and with all doors open our two little dogs had a ball chasing each other at full speed from living room through one bedroom, den, bathroom, another bedroom, kitchen, dining area and back to the living room. It was a hoot to watch. The fenced in back yard was another blessing for our two little ‘boys’. Roaming around without the restraint of a leash put them in 7th Heaven. We strongly recommend this place for anybody with dogs, children, several family members or friends.

  Lovely adorable house. Hosts have really covered all the bases and made for a very pleasant stay. Great location and would recommend in a heartbeat! Intend to rent again when the need arises. A very positive and pleasant experience.

  Large, comfortable, nicely furnished and with a privacy fenced yard for our dogs! Not easy to find pet friendly rentals out on the island so we were thrilled at our good fortune. The location is excellent including a private access beach area and proximity to the Publix grocery store. There are a couple restaurants within walking distance as well. The home supplied everything we needed for a lovely, relaxing stay.

  We had a great time staying here! The condo was the perfect size for us (8 people) and not too far from the beach. We made good use of the kitchen and loved the quiet island. We went out to eat twice (Definitely go to Crawdaddies, you might want to pass on the Dolphin Bar..), but the best food was fresh seafood and live crawfish and crabs from the mainland. Furniture is comfortable, no complaints from us!

  Hutchinson Island is wonderful!! This house is wonderful!! We stayed a month and will be back next year!! Everything was provided; we didn't have to bring anything. Nice dishes and linens, nice furnishings, good quality furniture. And we liked having a washer and dryer and cleaning all our clothes before we left instead of having to do it at home.

  Great time on the island. House had all the amenities; very relaxing. Saw dolphins cresting from the observation tower of the tiki hut!!
