Oceanfront - New Hot Tub - Still Some Summer Weeks Left!
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This mid-bank oceanfront house is a perfect vacation retreat for couples wanting a romantic getaway or for families wanting an action-packed vacation. You can laze around the 12.5 meter private solar-heated pool (seasonal), enjoy time in the hot tub that is through sliding doors off the master bedroom and is available year-round, or sit on the deck and watch the cruise ships go by and the seals play in the water. Even the laziest of children are likely to agree to go for long walks on the beach in both directions as they are tempted by the variety of shells and sea creatures you will encounter. The jellyfish on the rocks and the kelp are always highlights.
For dinner, you can try the many unique restaurants in the Comox Valley, or enjoy dinner on the deck – perhaps fresh seafood you purchased from the fisherman at the harbor complimented by fresh vegetables from the Farmer’s Market that is a 5-minute drive (or a 10-minute bike ride) from the house. In the evening, the absence of city lights allows for magnificent star-gazing from the deck.
The inside of the split-level house has an open concept kitchen and living room with Ship’s oak flooring and the luxuries of a convection oven, gas stove, and a sub-zero fridge. You will enjoy breakfast outsdide at the patio table or at the coffee bar with floor-to-ceiling windows along the entire front of the house or and a fabulous view of the Sunshine Coast, Texada, Denman, and Hornby Islands.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed and a large walk-in-closet. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and the third bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom. The den contains a 51” TV/DVD and a pull-out queen size couch. There is a large office with high-speed internet access and a printer and a games room with a ping pong table and floor-to-ceiling windows with a pool view.
The house is on a very quiet street, yet is conveniently located close to the Comox International Airport and to all the amenities of the Comox Valley, designated a 2007 Cultural Capital of Canada.

We spent at a week at this fantastic home and really enjoyed ourselves. We dined at 2 of the restaurants that were recommended to us ( The Black Fin Pub and Titos a Mexican restaurant) both were great. We checked out the farmers market and of course went to the marina and bought fresh halibut and prawns. We checked out a lot of different areas around Comox/Courteney area and it was always a joy to return to this home. The gardens are kept beautiful, and the home sits on a great quiet location great for views and walking on the beach and then soaking in the hot tub.The home itself was very clean and has everything you need.It was hard to leave and come back home. I have to say that this was one of our best getaways and I would reccomend this property to anyone. I know that we will return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My wife and I spent the month of March at this incredible home and we didn't want our stay to end. Spectacular views, surroundings, and facilities. The gourmet kitchen was a dream to cook in. Any issues/questions were quickly resolved by the helpful care-takers or the owners. It has been more than a month since our stay and we're still talking about how good this place was. The pictures are very accurate - this place really is that incredible. When you're not exploring the oceanfront beach (private steps down from the house's backyard), there are lots of good running / biking trails through nearby forest trails - lots to explore. Recommended.Owner response: Thanks for this review - makes me wish that I was in Comox rather than waiting for green grass elsewhere in this great country!

Not only did this property meet more than our expectations, the owners did as well. Sure there was some areas that showed a little wear, but what place doesn't? This was a home that felt warm and inviting, had the most spectacular views, was clean and non-cluttered and had the best central location that we could have asked for to do some many day trips! And Joan and her hubby, so helpful and considerate! Not only have we been boasting about this beautiful find, we have been recommending it to absolutely everyone we know and meet. And we plan on going back as many times as we can! PS. The folks who help maintain the property were also very warm and friendly and do an amazing job!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks Don and Lori for the great review. We really do try to meet everyone's expectations. Joan and Rob

Just spent a few days in Comox at this fabulous home on the oceanfront. The home was spotless , had everything that we could possibly need, and then some. The view was wonderful from inside , with all the picture windows, and from the various decks outside. A little too cool to enjoy the pool at this time of the year but the hot tub was a hit in the evenings. Really enjoyed the laid back lifestyle of the island. Such beautiful scenery to take in everywhere we went. If you enjoy walks on the beach, watching wildlife (deer, eagles, seals, birds), taking in a local farm market, trying out a pub on the waterfront, or simply hanging out on the deck sipping a fine wine I would highly recommend the Comox area and this property. Might even return here for our annual girl's get-away next year!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for the lovely review Judy. We're very pleased to have lots of return renters now. Joan

We found this location by word of mouth and did not see any online advertising; We found the accomodation wonderfully clean and inviting. It appeared to be well maintained and had just some minor repairs to be looked at (screen doors need lubricating / pool cover replaced); We would definately recommend this property as we had a fabulous time. The broad ocean views, the pool and hot tub (the tub needs to be cleaned and maintained more regularly) were fun. There are many trails to ride bikes on and the property had everything supplied that provided an amazing week! ThanksRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for the nice review. The pool cover does take a beating on the ocean. The hot tub is cleaned between renters if at all practical but we are not able to provide daily cleaning. Grass and pebbles from the nearby path do tend to find their way into the tub no matter what one does!.

The house was lovely and the view absolutely stunning. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. It was hard to go sightseeing as my kids refused to leave the pool! I loved sitting on the deck enjoying the view every morning.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We arrived in Comox to have a visit with my parent's and to allow my children [three under 13] to see a different area of Canada. We were very satisfied with our stay at the house. It was comfortable and roomy for the seven of us. The kitchen was well stocked and fun dinners and brunches were made. Our children loved the pool [surprisingly warm], ping pong table and walking on the beach. The boys made a driftwood "fort" on the beach, and it was great to sit on the deck and let the children run. The view is spectacular, and always changing. Many hours were spent sitting around the kitchen table, admiring the view and playing cards. The house is well situated on the water and is close [5-10 min drives] to the harbour, shopping, farmer markets and golf courses. We particularly loved Crowne Isle golf course, Miracle Beach and eating at the Comox harbour Bistro and Pub. Comox/Courtney hasn't made the tourist boom yet, and is still small, quaint, and homey. A great week away from our day to day life.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for the review. We think it summarizes the assests of the property and of the Comox Valley.

We were interested in finding a property which appealed to young and old alike. We were meeting my parent's and we are parents of three kids, ages 13 and below. The pool was a huge asset as well as the ping pong table for the kids. My husband and parents loved the view, gathering around the table, sitting poolside and ease to get around Comox. The house is ideally situated on the beach and amazing beach combing to be had. The house is close to both harbours, yummy sea food, an incredible farmer's market and world class golf at Crowne Isle. I enjoyed the great kitchen and being able to spread out and not feel cramped. Miracle Beach is not to be missed in my book, with it's tidal pools and soft sand beach. As we left the house we felt that a week was certainly not long enough!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed in August for one week in that wonderful place. My son Christoph(13y) said, this is the most beautiful place he's ever been. The house is outstanding. Nothing is missing. We enjoyed every day. We cooked everyday in this wonderful well equipped kitchen, had lots of relaxing hours at the pool. The kids had lots of things to do with sports, swimming and walking on the lonly beach. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful with everything. We enjoyed the peaceful countrylive in Comox and surrounding, had fresh fish from the boats and had very nice contacts to the locals. All at all, one of my best experiences in Canada and we are looking forward to come back to this wonderful place once again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
