Located on the southernmost barrier island along the North Carolina coastline, this lovely beach home is designed for a group or family that wants to enjoy one of the most pristine beaches along the Atlantic seaboard. Dallas Cottage is located on 40th Street, which is the most western avenue on the island, offering easy walking access to beautiful marshland and spectacular sunsets. A short five minute walk to beautiful Sunset Beach provides easy access to protected Bird Island and the dramatic sand dunes which make this beach so unique.
On the first floor of the cottage, the well designed, inviting great room and kitchen area allow for guests to "sprawl and relax" after a fun filled day. A fireplace provides great ambience during the fall and winter evenings. Two very comfortable bedrooms, with lovely linens and bedding, can also be found on the first floor, with a full bath in between. Also located on the first floor is a comfortable screened in porch which provides a perfect setting for morning coffee or cocktails before dinner. Adjoining the front bedroom, an open balcony and comfortable rocking chairs await one who desires to read the paper, a book, or simply watch the passers-by.
Upstairs, the inviting Master Bedroom with a private balcony provides comfort and solitude. A second bedroom upstairs provides another very comfortable sleeping area. Adjacent to this bedroom, a small office area with a single bed has been provided for the person wanting quiet time and a private place to write or work on their computer. A full master bath separates the two bedrooms.
Sunset Beach allows for easy access to some of the greatest golfing along the Atlantic Coast. The temperate annual climate makes Sunset Beach a golf destination throughout the year. There are several well known golf courses within an easy 5-15 minute drive from the cottage. Local seafood restaurants and fantastic shopping are located in Calabash, Ocean Isle, and Shallotte, all within 20 minutes of the cottage. Famous Myrtle Beach is only 25 miles away. Easy access to boating and fishing can be found nearby.
All linens and towels are provided by the owner as well as paper supplies and cleaning products. Check in time is 3:00 PM and check out time is 10:00 AM. There is a four night minimum stay at the designated rates. A daily or weekend rate is available during off season.
This is a no smoking home and pets are not permitted. House parties are not allowed. Sunset Beach rules and regulations allow for entertaining, but quiet hours must be observed.
Checks are accepted at the time of booking. Credit cards are not accepted. A reservation fee of 1/2 of the total rent amount is required within 7 days of verbal confirmation. The remaining balance is due 30 days before arrival. Refunds will only be given if owner is able to rent the property at the same time for the same price. For a 4 night stay, the full rental fee is required at the time the reservation is made.

We had a wonderful week at Dallas Cottage! The house is perfect! I love the extra large kitchen table! Since we like to cook together as a family, we bought fresh seafood from Bill's Seafood Market just over the bridge and cooked dinner almost every night. Kitchen is well-stocked with all the pans, knives, serving dishes, and utensils we needed. There is lots of counter space, a clean stove and oven, huge refrigerator, clean dishwasher - I love the kitchen! There were plenty of fluffy towels and wash cloths. The beds were comfortable and the linens were crisp. The furnishings were comfortable and clean. We played card games around a huge coffee table. There is plenty of seating for a large family. Sunset Beach is beautiful and the perfect place to relax. We rented bikes from Julie's Rentals. We rode bikes from one end of the island to the other. At low tide, we rode down to Little River Inlet and watched the boats. The boardwalk at the end of the street was great because there were NO steps--we could "roll on down" to the beach. Every morning we drank coffee on the screened porch enjoying the cool, constant ocean breezes. Every evening we sat on the top deck where we could feel the breeze and watch the sunset. We would love to rent it again next year. I appreciated cleanliness of the entire house! It is rare to find such a charming rental - it felt like "home."
