  We have a family beach house we rent at Surfside once a yea,r BUT the family voted to go back to The Rainmaker Cabin instead! Your beautiful cabin is as soothing/peaceful as a home by the beach. I believe with all my heart that people need a place, like your home, to get away and enjoy nature....enjoy alone time....enjoy a comfy place that is beautiful/cozy.....hiking, fishing, etc. This area has so many things to do as a family. ( My 4 year old grandson was looking at the pictures we took our first visit, he pointed to the hammock and said "I want to ride that next time"...ha. ) Our grandsons loved it!! We didn't use the hiking trails last time but plan to this visit. It rained, literally, the entire time we were there BUT we still had fun ! There is so much to do in the area and just totally enjoying the awesome cabin, playing games, sitting in the hot tub (which I enjoyed even in the rain, thanks to the umbrella idea,ha....) is something anyone would enjoy. God bless you both! Thanks again, we have found our home away from home. :)) We have told lots of people about it!

  We (a North Carolina couple and an Oklahoma couple) thoroughly enjoyed an overnight last minute getaway at the Rainmaker Cabin. It was very well located to provide privacy, space, and amenities to give us a well welcomed refreshing visit. The cabin was cleaned and decorated to high above the usual high standards we have become accustomed to with VRBO rentals. Thanks to the owners for being so very informative and helpful when I called. The photos posted are accurate and almost do justice to the beautiful cabin and setting. The hot tub was very refreshing, and enjoyed. We took the owners suggestions and had pizza at the Grateful Head and it was great. Dinner at Abednigo's was wonderful and delicious - only problem encountered there was in getting our check (a bit of a wait). If we find ourselves back in the area we will certainly look into renting here again. Thanks

  We enjoyed our stay at the Rainmaker Cabin. The cabin was immaculately clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our stay was during the week before Christmas and we were pleased that the cabin was decorated for the holiday, making the time that much more enjoyable. The only issue we had (and we knew it before we went) is that cell phone service is poor to non-existent which was both the good news and the bad news :) The location is perfect for driving up to the State Park or in to Broken Bow or Hochatown. We ate dinner one night at Abendigo's in Hochatown and it was literally the best steak I've had in years! Just one more thing...we travel with our dog and it was so great to be able to take her along. Finding nice places to stay that allow pets is sometimes a challenge and we greatly appreciate that the owners of The Rainmaker Cabin are pet friendly!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  We really enjoyed our second visit to this beautiful cabin for our anniversary! We went canoeing down the river & my husband went trout fishing and caught 4 fish! We woke u to rain Sunday morning, which was great! Really enjoyed the hot tub, too! We will be back!

  This is the best vacation we have ever had! Rainmaker is wonderful! So peaceful, relaxing and beautiful. We really enjoyed bringing “our girls” with us. The cabin is very well stocked with everything we needed. We loved every minute we have spent here ` and don’t want to leave.   Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, despite the AC issue, we loved every minute of it! Next time we know the cabin has a brand new AC! Ha! We can vouch that if works great! The cabin is so comfortable, clean & had everything we needed. The area is gorgeous and we will definitely be back, hopefully this Fall! The kids had a ball, too & cannot wait to come back!   We had a great time at this perfect cabin! It was even better in person than expected. Our family had the vacation we’ve needed for a while, wish we could have stayed longer. The only negative thing was the first evening, when the house next to us decided to have a very loud party. Other than that it was absolutely perfect! Thank you so much!!

  What a great vacation in a great cabin! There is plenty to do around here, but we were content instead to hang out here...a lot. Between the hammock (which the kids could live in), and the firepit, we were in heaven. The big table was perfect for arts & crafts and for games. It was perfect family time far away from cell phones, laptops and commitments. We will be back for sure!

  We had the pleasure of staying in this cabin for a short break at the beginning of summer. The cabin is beautiful! It's roomy, very clean, and well equipped. We lacked for nothing. The owners were efficient and good communicators and gracious when I forgot some of the fine print. We could have stayed in the cabin the entire time we were there, although we did get out to experience some of the area activities. We will definitely stay here again.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

  Perfectly peaceful! This place is awesome. Just what we needed!! Everything was perfect. We had the best time. Two “what not to do’s”...Honey Bear Ranch (no live animals...at least none that you can see). Trees and plants a-plenty. Also, don’t drive to Smithville in need of gas (lol). Talk about antique gas pumps! We had so many laughs!! Restaurant in Beavers Bend Park, right up the road; really good if you like real homemade onion rings...theirs are great! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful cabin. We are already planning another vacation here!

  My wife Cindy & I came here to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. We really liked that we could bring our little Havanese, Bull & Jazzy with us. The four of us took the 2 1/2 float in the park. Perfect for kids & dogs. I caught 7 trout on 3 different outings. The river upstream from the sandy bridge is perfect. We built several bonfires and ate too many s’mores. The hot tub at night was a perfect way to relax after dinner. Thanks for such a nice place!

  Our stay here at The Rainmaker Cabin was so much fun! We loved the hammock, hot tub and just the cabin itself! We had fun with all the different selections of games and exploring around the site.   Our stay at The Rainmaker was amazing! The perfect place for a weekend getaway with dear friends. The weather was beautiful for a hike through nature and the hot tub was relaxing and warm! Let me tell you the Bigfoot on the mantle provided us with hours of entertainment. He’s probably never had such adventures...pictures will be forthcoming! Thanks again for such a great stay!   The cabin was he cozy escape we had hoped for. Alternating between the hot tub and crackling fire before bed helped melt away any stress we brought with us. The Rainmaker lived up to it’s name, as it rained our time here, but that allowed us to curl up on the sofa and enjoy the fire. Looking forward to renting again and taking advantage of the outdoors, lake & river. Thanks!

  Thank you so much for the beautiful place to stay. We had some much needed downtime for our family and celebrated our youngest son’s 5th birthday! He loved hiking, hot tubbing and making s’mores for his b-day. My husband and I loved the quiet evenings by the fire. We even heard someone singing “Amazing Grace” last night. Our 8 year old was in heaven exploring and finding rocks & “crystals”. We will definitely be back, but for longer next time!

  What a blessing to stay at The Rainmaker Cabin for a couple of days. We rode the train, visited a couple of the museums & saw lots of beautiful scenerey. Your advice to go to Abendigo’s was taken & it was great! We loved the cabin - everything was sparkling clean & the ambience wonderful.

  The Rainmaker Cabin exceeded our expectations in almost all areas. We really appreciated how clean it was, the decor, the homey feeling and the seclusion nestled in the woods. We enjoyed the hot tube, roasting marshmallows and making s’mores on our campfire and grilling hamburgers outside. We had family movie nights, enjoyed hikes and bike rides, tubing in the lake off our pontoon boat and lazing in the hammock. The beds were comfortable and we loved listening to the rainforest sounds on the radio by the bed. This was our first trip to Broken Bow, but won’t be our last.

  This is just what we needed! The cabin is so comfortable and homey. We truly wanted to stay longer than we could. We enjoyed the campfire, cooking out, the hot tub, the hammock, the wrap-around porch...everything! Saturday we spend the day on the boat - the lake was pristeen, and the weather was beautiful. the kids had fun tubing for hours. The guys went for a nature hike on the trail off the road. Abendigo’s was delicious ~ and live music was terrific! Thank you so much for such a wonderful getaway - we loved it! Oh yes...the kids LOVED the BIGFOOT ACTION FIGURE on the mantle!

  It was wonderful! Our new favorite place is The Rainmaker. We had a great time on our 5th anniversary. We will be back. Please don’t change a thing.

  Thank you for providing such a wonderful get-a-way spot!! The games were frequently used. Loved the music mixes. Loved the book on how to catch Bigfoot! We will have to return for a longer stay next time for trying to catch Bigfoot. We really cannot think of anything we would have wanted to be different. It was fabulous. Thank You!!

  Kris, Thank you so much for sharing your cabin. We had an amazing time. We are a new family and just starting to get to know each other and this really helped. We thought staying in the Rainmaker would ruin the 4th. Howevery, the weather was perfect for the lake. I hope this can be a “new family tradition”. God Bless -
