Lovely apartment (quiet neighborhood down a pedestrian street near the new Waldorf Astoria) within an 8-10 minute walk of the Jaffe Gate (Old City). Near a grocery store (Kosher) and lots of restaurants and the luxurious Mamilla Mall). Both the apartment and the owners were outstanding (owners speak fluent English and were remarkably helpful and easily reachable). Clean, convenient to everything important, Kosher, air conditioned (imperative in the summer months) and allows the renter to avoid the need to have a rental car. Cabs are everywhere and much less expensive then a car rental. I would not think of renting hotel rooms when the real value (and lovely expansive space) is available in an apartment rental such as this. There were 6 of us and the apt. was perfect.

I had never rented from VRBO before, but based on the outstanding reviews of this property I decided to rent it for our family's 5-night stay in Jerusalem. Very glad I did. Sharon, the owner, was very responsive in advance to my inquiries. When we arrived in Jerusalem, she and her husband met us at the house and made us feel at home. Everything is exactly as described on the website and the reviews of other travelers. The location cannot be beat: as others have said, it is close to the Jaffa Gate, steps from the Mamilla shopping and a short walk to other parts of central Jerusalem (Ben Yehuda is about a 5 min. walk). The arches and other distinctive features of the house make you feel much more like you are staying in Jerusalem than you will at any hotel. Pictures of the front room do not do it justice: its high ceilings and built in daybeds under the arches make you feel as if you are living in a palace. Everything throughout the house works well and is easy to use and comfortable. The patio in front is a wonderful place to spend cool Jerusalem evenings. As others have said, there is a supermarket just up the hill, with a cart provided. All in all, a terrific rental experience and one I would gladly repeat on my next trip.

This apartment was a delight to stay in. It is charming, both visually and architecturally. The owner has done an amazing job of allowing the ancient beauty (large stones walls, arched celings) to shine, while updating the apartment so that it is clean, modern and very comfortable. The kitchen has all of the modern conveniences, and the appliances all work well. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished and there is plenty of closet and storage room. There is also a lovely and colorful garden to enjoy right of the kitchen. Sharon, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. She met us at the apartment when we arrived and gave us a thorough tour and explanation of the apartment. Sharon was gracious and pleasant and I felt that I could contact her if a problem arose (none did) and I knew she would respond immediately. Finally, you know what they say....location, location, location!! We could walk just about everywhere that we wanted to with ease. But, if we needed a taxi, we only had to walk to the street and there was a steady stream of available cabs. I would definitely return to this apartment or any apartment owned by Sharon.

My husband and I took the first floor bedroom convenient to the galley kitchen and eating nook, the spectacular living-dining room, and up- to- date bathroom with a tub and shower and electric heater. In the high-ceilinged spacious dining-living room there was lots of room for our many Shabbat guests. On the second floor were a large bedroom with a kingsize bed and a smaller bedroom with a single bed. The beds were very clean and comfortable and the rooms attractive, with good storage. Another modern bathroom with tub and shower was on this floor. The outside patio was private (next to the US Embassy building), with a lovely garden. It was an easy walk to the King David Hotel and to the Kotel and the Y. There were lots of restaurants, a beautiful park, and downtown Jerusalem shopping close by. Meah Shearim was a 15 minute walk. The owner was very accessible and responsive. The rental was in very good condition and very nicely appointed and decorated.Although there was inadequate air circulation in the downstairs bathroom, all in all, we were very happy to be there, and would definitely like to stay there again. The best way to get around Jerusalem is on foot. This location made Jerusalem very accessible.

We just got back from staying in this lovely house for a week, and everything about it was perfect. The house was beautiful and comfortable, the owner kind and helpful, and the location was excellent--walking distance from the old city, Mamilla Mall, downtown, the American consulate, .the King David Hotel, and a grocery store. I would definitely rent this house again--we had a perfect vacation staying there!

My family and a friend enjoyed 5 wonderful days in this lovely home. It's very comfortable and well equipped with a spacious and unique dining room. The location couldn't be better, within walking distance to the Jaffa Gate and the Old City, Mamilla and Ben Yehuda Street with a handy supermarket only few minutes walk away. It's also very quiet at night. The owners are very friendly and helpful too. We would love to stay there again.

Staying at the apartment on Zamenhoff was a true delight. The apartment is architecturally beautiful with interesting archways and recessed nooks. The kitchen is well stocked with the essential pots, pans dishes etc. Keeping kosher is easy as everything is clearly labeled. When we were there Jerusalem was experiencing a heat wave so I can tell you that the A.C. works very well. Sharon and her husband built us a lovely sukkah that easily fit nine people. While the building is over 100 years old the inside is modern and up to date. The only thing needing some work is the ventilation system in the bathrooms. The location is ideal. The building is located in a quiet alleyway but is easy walking distance to the old city, Mamilla Mall, Ben Yehuda Street and all major hotels in the city center. Supersol is up the block and Sharon thoughtfully supplies a shopping cart to make grocery shopping easy. Sharon and her husband are always available by phone and will come to the apartment to take care of any needs that arise. We were there for two weeks and they arranged for someone to come after the first week to clean the house and change the bedding. There is a washing machine which while quite small is perfectly adequate. I would recommend the apartment whole heartedly and would absolutely stay there again - hopefully soon!

My husband and I stayed here with our son, daughter in law and three children and could not have been happier. Great space, wonderfully equipped house and totally comfortable. It is extremely well located, minutes from a supermarket, Mamilla Mall, the Old City and Ben Yehuda Street. The owners are amazing and take excellent care of their property. We recommend this house and would definitely stay here again.

Finding this home was a dream come true. Our family of seven enjoyed everything about this lovely, historic home- the location can't be beat! We walked everywhere, from the Old City to the Mamilla Mall, to the German Colony to Machaneh Yehuda and more. We cooked lots of meals, and ate like royalty in the magnificent dining room/living room, which oozes Moroccan charm (and we have been to Morocco so we know the authentic thing when we see it). We took such joy in simple things- having morning coffee in the lovely garden, buying groceries easily at the nearby Supersol, chatting with the charming men who run the nearby bike shop, pretending for a week that we really lived there. The house is perfectly equipped for your comfort and the hosts could not be more helpful and accommodating. We hope to be fortunate enough to return someday soon!

We had a terrific stay at this beautiful apartment. It was a delight to stay in this very clean and perfectly located apartment. The owners are wonderful to deal with and very attentive. My only hesitation in praising the apt is that it will never be available for me again. Enjoy your stay!

I have just returned from a wonderful stay in this magnificent apartment. Everything is exactly as it looks on the website. We shared the place with friends and it was perfect for 2 couples, everyone had their own space. As already mentioned in other comments, the location is ideal, close to everything you would want in Jerusalem. It was a perfect place to share Shabbat with family and friends. The hosts are wonderful and caring. It would be my first choice for future visits.

My husband and I stayed here along with my two Chicago-based cousins and our Jerusalem-based son and daughter-in-law for two weeks in September. It was very roomy, amazingly beautiful, and in a great location to walk everywhere! We enjoyed cooking in the Kosher kitchen and eating our dinners on the cozy tree-filled patio. We hope to stay again some time in the future.

Our party of 3 stayed here in July/August 2008 as we were in town to prepare for the release of our documentary film, Exodus Conspiracy. We required a large space to show the film to multiple people. The property was PERFECT in every way and the hosts were delightful. You can rent here with 100% confidence. Feel free to contact me for more comments.

My family of 5 just came back from 10 days staying in this very comfortable, perfectly located apartment. There is more than enough room. The apartment is tucked between the US Consulate and the YMCA on a small, pedestrian alley, so while you are minutes away from so much, you feel as if you are in a different world. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful three-week stay in Jerusalem at this fabulous apartment. it really is as good as it looks. The location is perfect. Just down the street is the Mamilla Mall (the new Rodeo Drive of Jerusalem) and then the Jaffa Gate to the Old City, so you can easily walk down to the Kotel. Across the street is the SuperSol supermarket. And a short walk across the park you have Ben Yehuda and all the restaurants and shops (we also parked our car in a garage there to avoid having to fee the meters on Agron). The apartment itself is spacious and clean. The kitchen is basically all new. the apartment is on a small side street so it is quiet. And the little garden out front is charming. the neighbors are also nice. So, an unreserved thumbs up for this place. i would come back again in a heartbeat.

It started with the perfect host and couldn't stop getting better. The location is ideal. Everything is convenient within 10 minute walk. Synagogue,Old City,Ben Yehuda St.,grocery store)It's very large, comfortable and completely furnished for all your needs. My children thought it would be terrific for 2 couples with 4 younger children. The garden was great to sit for morning coffee in a private eden. And if you need more space across the street is a big park. The hosts couldn't stop offering help with anything that came up. Just a great experience!!

This is a perfect three bedroom home. We were so close to the Old City, a synagoge, as well as the night life. We had a lovely Shabbot Dinner in this complete kosher home(linens, prayer books and candles). Everything was clean and cozy.
