Finca Bella Luna is located 10 minutes from Lake Arenal and Tilaran, a nearby town which places you in "real" Costa Rica but has grocery stores, internet, and restaurants. There are not many places left in Costa Rica that are so authentic. The farm has 400 plus pineapples growing. .Depending on the time of year different crops mature. Citrus is in November, mangos begin in June, yucca,plantains, bananas ayote(squash) is year round. There are cows roaming the land and howler monkeys come to feed in the trees. Birdwatching is amazing and the wild orchids surprise you as you walk the property. The neighborhood is pure Costa Rican as their way of life is exposed from their individual farms. Hiking the beautiful country roads offer insight into how the "TICOS" have been living for hundreds of years.
If you enjoy natural beauty, some of the nicest people in the world, great fresh food to eat, amazing flowers, spectacular vistas of volcanoes and the lake, come to Finca Bella Luna and REALLY experience Costa Rica and it's culture. You will never be the same.

- This beautiful 13 acre organic farm is overlooking Lake Arenal and Miravalles Volcano,Tenorio Volcano and Arenal Volcano. There is a stream that flows all year long that cuts through the farm. There are hundreds of fruit trees and other native trees that have been planted recently in an effort to reforest the once cow pasture. The country roads are excellent for hiking, running, mountain biking, and jeeping. They pass by many farms and forest. There are wonderful day trips you can explore that go to the volcanoes, hot springs, gardens, rivers, you name it , just lots to see and do. The lake offers some of the best bass fishing, windsurfing, kayacking, and sailing. The nearby town of Tilaran has grocery stores and restaurants. A 15 minute walk out of the driveway is a small pueblo with a small grocery store that I usually find everything I need.

- 2 Mountain bikes are available to go right out the driveway onto dirt roads that follow the lake, hiking and birdwatching are popular on the property. Hiking is excellent and there are hardly any cars on the farm roads by the house.

Why the Owner Chose Arenal
I chose this area mainly because I wanted to live in Costa Rica, many parts of the country are not genuine anymore ,they are very touristy.Also the climate is not too hot and not too cold. The constant breezes lesson the amount of humidity so it is very comfortable. I have lots of fruit trees and the soil is volcanic so everything grows.I am surrounded by farmers who have been doing the same things for hundreds of years.
