Amazing time at Villas Las Palmas-Pura Vida!!!

This villa was absolutely amazing! We had 9 adults on our trip and there was plenty of room for us to live for the week. The infinity pool was fantastic and refreshing. There was plenty of outside seating in the shade and also enough room to bask in the sun. The villa was very clean and there were plenty of bath and beach towels. The villa was also well lit and gated which made us feel very safe while staying there. The pictures are exactly what you get! The beach was a 5 minute walk down the street. The local restaurants that we tried within walking distance were all great. The pizza shop was a great place to get some simple food and drinks, Buena Serra was great for a high quality meal and also had fantastic entertainment. We also stumbled upon an awesome beach bar with Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy frozen drinks and delicious food and it had a great view of the beach and ocean. There was a small supermarket about a half mile walk up the road where you could get fresh fruits and veggies, beer and alcohol, and most other things you would find in a supermarket. Eric was our property supervisor and called us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed and were having a good time. We even asked him if he could get us a blender so we could make delicious frozen drinks. He had it to us the next day! We used the concierge service, Tico Tours for transportation to and from the airport as well as 2 excursions. I cannot say enough about them. They were so fantastic! They had great vans that could fit all 9 of us and our luggage. They met us with a cooler of water, juices, and beers every time. They were super friendly and knowledgeable. We also used the personal chef that was recommended by the owners. She was affordable and fabulous. She cooked for all 9 of us with ease and prepared authentic Costa Rican cuisine. The owners Jeff and Rainie were full of great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. They also provided us with great tips for a better stay. THANK YOU so much for a great Villa and an amazing time in Costa Rica! PURA VIDA!!!

This home is exactly as it states..an amazing villa rental. The cleanliness was fantastic and the property well maintained. The pool is absolutely beautiful and enjoyable for our whole crew. The pictures are exactly as it appears. Beach is an easy 10min walk and a beautiful location for long walks, sunbathing, beach fun, running, or sunset cocktails (all of which we tried). The owners were great throughout our experience and made the process very easy. They provided us with great recommendations regarding what to pack, where to eat, how to get around, and things to do. There was a property supervisor, Eric, available for any propery issues. He worked with the owners to bring us a new blender for frozen drinks! We took advantage of the concierge as well as the chef and didn't regret a thing! The concierge provided our airport transport and full day excursions x 2. With a party of 9, it was fantastic avoiding a rental car and having an airconditioned van to comfortably fit us all. Our chef came for 3 breakfasts and 4 dinners and was phenomenal! There is a Luperon (small market) 1/2 mile up the road and provided us with snacks, fresh fruits and veggies, breakfast food, and beverages. There are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance as well. We weren't able to try them all, but never had anything less than fabulous! People were friendly in the area and service was good. The locked gate at the villa made us feel safe. Our group spoke very little Spanish and made out fine. In summary, Villas Las Palmas is a beautiful property (clean, large, fantastic pool), easy access to the beach, 3 homes away from concierge, rural area with small town necessities, close to touristy areas, and only 20 min from the airport! I would definitely return to the property.

Great house in a nice location

Pros: Excellent location near the beach. The pool was nice, clean, and refreshing. The house itself was very comfortable and a great size for a large family or some friends. Working with the owners was easy and a the manager Bernal is extremely helpful and there if/when you need him. Cons: No wi-fi (at the time of our stay), but to me that wasn't a big deal. Power went out a couple of times during the week. The price, to some, wouldn't be considered inexpensive. Overall: I would gladly stay again.

A Great Time in Villa Las Palmas, Guanacaste, Costa Rica

My family and I were delighted for having spent the last days of 2012 and the first of 2013 at Villa Las Palmas. It is a wonderful, well located place, with all the amenities that made us feel like at our own home. It's such a spacious, beautiful vacationing spot that allowed us to have a wonderful time together, for it had just about everything we needed, even though there were ten of us. The good experience began with the great communication I established with its owners. Both of them were attentive to answer my questions in regards to the place and its location. Not only were they very cordial, but also knowledgeable about its surroundings, which allowed us to schedule visits to other nearby beaches, and plan on what to take with us. Not having rented any other place like this before, it was a relief to see that the pictures posted online were accurate and that the house, as well as the good-sized swimming pool, was clean and well maintained. In short, it is with great satisfaction that I recommend renting Villa Las Palmas anytime you want to spend a great time in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

Thank you so much Rainie for a wonderful time! We could not have asked for a better home to suit our family. Your home was beautiful and the pool was awesome! It was even more beautiful than the pictures looked. We loved Play Hermosa and all that it offered. We spent time at the beach, went scuba diving and went on the best tour of our lives with Bernal. We hope to definitely go back. Thank you to Bernal also who was amazing and took such great care of us!!! Rainie it was wonderful working with you. You made our trip and all of the planning for Costa Rica so incredibly easy. It was a wonderful, relaxing vacation at Villa Las Palmas!

Thank you Jeff & Rainie! WE have thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Bernal is amazing and really made our week fun! We have been horseback riding, zip lining, sailing and to the waterfalls and crocodile watching. This was a wonderful place for the nine of us and we will never forget the hospitality and graciousness of Costa Rica!

He helped us to pick some great tours that both the adults and kids loved! He also had great restaurant suggestions and provided us with invaluable resources. We hope to come back again!

This is an awesome house in the perfect location. Easy walk to beach. Beautiful view across the mountains. Swim in the refreshing pool, relax in the hammocks with a book and a cold beverage. The home is spacious and comfortably appointed. And Bernal, the concierge, is the best. He will give you a true taste of the local culture. I highly recommend staying at this villa. Hope I can return and do it all again. It is truly paradise.

We had a wonderful visit to this beautiful home...all the various special touches, like the lighting, the native art, the gorgeous pool, the balconies. Not to mention that walking down the street, you are likely to see monkeys climbing from branch to branch on the way to the beach! Bernal was a great guide and all the adventures were a big hit with our couples group. Can't wait to go back to CR! Rebecca

It is hard to believe it has been almost a year since we were in Costa Rica. I can truly say it was one of the best vacations our family has ever had. We loved the house. It was the perfect set up for our group. My family slept in the main house, and the couple who went with us were able to have some privacy in the apartment. We used the pool constantly, and the WiFi was useful. We were able to use the computer to communicate with the concierge, and my daughter's cell worked. We loved the country and the people. Your concierge, Bernal was a real treasure. The activities he coordinated for us were a blast, and always well planned. We found Playa Hermosa beautiful, with restaurants, the beach and the local grocery conveniently located. We never missed having a vehicle because we could walk to the beach and restaurants, and Bernal or his assistant were always available when we needed transportation. All of us agreed that we would definitely like to return to Costa Rica. Not sure when it will be, but I hope it won't be too long!

This was our second time to Playa Hermosa and our first time staying at Villa Las Palmas.We had a great time and the house was wonderful.Our kids loved the pool and the convenience of being a block from the beach. Villa Las Palmas was clean and well decorated and our family looks forward to returning.

Could a family of eleven ask for a better house to stay in for ten days? Probably not. Our stay has been wonderful. A beautiful pool and villa with a beach a stones throw away. And area and country with some of the most hospitable people on the planet. From river tours with Bernal up close and personal with wildlife to zipline tours with Jose and Rolando, our trip has been relaxing, informative and full of fun. On behalf of our family, thank you to Costa Rica for having us and showing us all you have to offer. P.S. Special thanks to Juanita for a wonderful authentic Costa Rican dinner!

Visiting Costa Rica for the first time was a great experience and staying at Jeff & Rainie's home helped make it so. The pool was wonderful, my friends and I used it every day. I can't say enough good things about Bernal and Tico Tours, Bernal was the best and he took us on some great tours. I would definitely recommend the house, especially its location so near the beach and some really nice restaurants and also Bernal at Tico Tours for any excursions.

Jeff and Rainie: Your house in Playa Hermosa was an absolute delight. My college friends and their children loved being so near the beach and having the pool for the kids to hang around in at the house. Bernal arranged great tours for us with a "super guide"...Diego. After my friends left, my family stayed on for another week and toured around Costa Rica in a car....it was a blast. I have to mention as well the superb assistance of Sugey fixing our breakfast each morning and Rosa for providing us with a clean home. Absolutely wonderful and I would recommend the home to anyone wishing to get away to Costa Rica! Thanks again for everything.

We absolutely loved the house. It provided us plenty of room to hang out AND the pool was wonderful. We enjoyed touring the country as well with the aid of Tico Tours and Bernal. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!

Our stay in Villa las Palmas was incredible - the pool was huge and our group of 8 felt safe and very comfortable! Our favorite asset by far was the spectacular concierge BERNAL! He was so much fun as well as attentive and extremely helpful. He took us on an amazing canopy tour as well as beach hopping for the surfers -he is an invaluable resource - we don't know what we would have done without him. We miss you already, Bernal!

Your property is absolutely fantastic. And Bernal was so accommodating - he really showed us all Costa Rica had to offer. If not for him, we wouldn't have had such a good time! Let’s just say that this was the most adventurous vacation I’ve ever taken: world’s second most active volcano with natural hot springs, gondola canopy tour (I opted out of the zip-line), animal rescue preserve, local beach tours, white water rafting, jet skiing, cave tour, snorkeling, and much more. The food was either out of this world (if you followed the advice of the guide) or just average(if you didn’t). There were six of us on the trip and we had plenty of space in the villa. It is very nice and very well kept. The pool is wonderful! Even though we were there for a week, there wasn’t enough time to do everything. Bernal Mata of Tico Tours was very attentive and worked well with us to make the trip the best it could possibly be! We can’t wait to go back!

We had a wonderful time at Villa de las Playas. The house is well furnished, spacious and has great decoration making for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. David takes care of property management and he was always available and responsive to our requests. The house has tropical charm combined with the modern conveniences like A/C, laundry, etc. We had a power outage, which are pretty common there, so we had one uncomfortably warm night (though no fault of the property). There is a bit of construction going on around the house, but expect this will calm down in the next year as the area is developed more. The pool is particularly nice to cool off in on a hot day. Would highly recommend this house to others. The atmosphere of the house and the beach were fantastic! Dave & Brianna

Our family stayed at Villa Las Plamas at New Year's and in a nutshell it was a fantastic experience. Jeff and Rainie are wonderful people to deal with - they are honest, reasonable and a pleasure to talk to. Their home in Playa Hermosa is gorgeous with loads of space and extremely well kept. Our kids (3 20 year-olds plus a friend) absolutely loved the pool - it was a highlight of thier stay. The house is very near the beach, and New Years on the beach was simply amazing. The property manager they have arranged is very professional and looks after any questions/concerns you might have. Jeff also referred us to a tour guide who lives just across the road, and this was also a tremendous experience whereby we got personal tour service on tours you simply can't beat in Costa Rica. All in all, Playa Hermosa and the surrounding area is really starting to boom, and Jeff & Rainie's home is a fantastic place to experience it. Two thumbs up.
