'The Village Gem' is a wonderful vacation getaway. Newly renovated/period restored pre-1820 house. Beautifully furnished and tastefully appointed. European design kitchen with soapstone countertop island, stainless appliances. A great location in a quiet village center just outside Hershey/Hummelstown proper. Sophisticated urban refinements meet 18th century charm. Hershey and the surrounding area offers a vast variety of activities for both families and adults.
The amusement park is a major attraction, now with its new water rides. The Gem is only three miles from Hershey Park and Zoo America, Hershey Spa and Gardens. The Hershey Theater, Lodge, AACA Antique Auto Museum and Medical Center are all just as close by to The Gem.
The home is central for antique and outlet shoppers alike with great opportunities in Hershey, Adamstown, Reading as well as New Oxford, Pennsylvania (Hershey outlet malls five miles, Lancaster and Reading have outstanding outlet malls as well; huge antique malls and weekly flea markets are located in Adamstown and New Oxford, both just less than one hour away).
History buffs go crazy with The Lancaster County Dutch Country (35 miles away). With the heart of Amish Dutch Country less than an hour away it’s a must see for all visitors. Come see the 'plain people' live as if the 19th was a modern reality. Horse and buggies and the absence of electric power adds to the charm of the Old World lifestyle these folks live. History of the great war rings true with the Gettysburg Battlefield (just over an hour drive), the National Civil War Museum and Pennsylvania State Museum in Harrisburg, (eight miles from Harrisburg).

Other local attractions include the Pennsylvania Renaissance Fair (12 miles), Penn National Race Track and The Hollywood Casino, 10 miles away, local wineries, and a variety of nature activities just minutes away from the site.

Owner's Map of Hershey
Growing up in Central Pennsylvania Hershey Park was an annual event as a child. The park has grown-evolved into a "must-visit" attraction. Unfortunately there are very few well appointed rental homes in this area and I felt I could offer travelers a similar experience you would find should you visit Santa Fe, the Adirondacks or Pacific Northwest. It is with great pride I can offer The Travelers' Post Guesthouse. Located next to my art gallery, the house is an experience you will surely remember. I have personally hand selected antique and vintage artwork, textiles and other accent appointments to compliments the home's World travel decor.
