Why the Owner Chose Dahlonega
It takes us only 1 hour to get to Dahlonega from Atlanta. We felt the need to get out of the busy city of Atlanta to enjoy the quiet life in the mountains. It reminds us of who we are. It is used as a 2nd home for many weekends for friends and family.
The rocks on the cabin were placed on the wall us. The door to the bedroom was a gift from Joe Daole. It came out of an old church in London over 60 years ago.
This cabin will stay in the family forever.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The people in Dahlonega are so nice. We love going to the Festivals, The Zoo, Horseback riding. Shopping. Visits to the waterfalls. The views. Swimming at the community pool is a lot of fun! We enjoy the time we have to do so many fun things with our family. Just being together is what it's all about. Our favorite thing to do is sit on the swing or bench and talk.
Owner's Map of Dahlonega
Ben and Tawn have been married for 23 years. We have 3 children who love The Rockhouse Cottage in Dahlonega. We enjoy watching our children play in the country. It's so quiet and peaceful.

My wife and I have a great time at the rockhouse cottage. The decks are great for looking out into the woods and relaxing. When it got cold out at night the hot tub was perfect. This place is an A.

We enjoyed the weekend at your little cabin. In fact my girlfriend and I became engaged while staying here, so we'll not forget our wonderful weekend. The place was clean and homey, quite the creative use of space actually. The only detractor, and maybe this was our fault for expecting it, was the lack of soap or shampoo. But a quick trip to the drugstore solved that right away. Thanks again!

Rollin' at The Rock House

My wife and I have vacationed at The Rock House many times over the past 10 years. What I like most about it is the feeling of seclusion, even though we are a stone's throw away from "civilization". Whether we are looking for a 'just us' weekend, or some getaway time with friends, The Rockhouse has been just the thing. It's an easy ride north from Atlanta but it feels like we drove way up in the mountains.

My daughter and I just spent two relaxing nights at the cabin. The location is perfect. It felt isolated but was only minutes from town. We felt very safe and took walks around the cabin. The cabin is very charming and quiet. The jetted garden would be big enough for two. Water filled quickly and it was very peaceful looking at the woods while bathing. The hot tub was also wonderful and easy to use. There is plenty to do in Dahlonega. There are many excellent restaurants. The shopping outlets (160+ shops) in Dawsonville are only 20 minutes away. We hope to return soon.

We spent four nights in the cottage with our two young daughters. They cottage was ideal (the kids LOVED it!). We were away in the woods yet everything in Dahlonega was so easily accessible within just a few minutes drive. The cottage owners were very gracious and helpful and we had everything we could possibly have needed right there. The kids want to know when we can go back - my husband and I think it would make a great romantic getaway, just the two of us! We did Consolidated Gold Mine (right down the road), Sunny Farms horseback riding, Amicalola Falls, a half-day trip to Helen, GA, and plenty of shopping in downtown Dahlonega without ever feeling rushed. All of it was great!

My fiance and I were getting married in Dahlonega and used this cottage as our honeymoon location. The cottage is amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. It's very secluded and quiet - yet close enough to get to downtown Dahlonega and Helen. The owner's were very easy to work with, friendly and incredibly helpful. I would recommend this cottage to anyone and my husband and I will definitely be returning the Rockhouse Cottage.
