Location: Dresden, Seneca Lake, Finger Lakes, New York, USA (Close to All Wineries, 12 miles S of Geneva, near Skiing,)
Accommodations: Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-6)
Keywords: Exceptionally clean, romantic lake front getaway with awesome views
Beautiful, private lake front cottage on the Wine Trail. Rated "Excellent for 2010" by Trip Advisor.
This is one of the most private cottages on Seneca Lake with absolutely NO neighbors on three sides and the nearest neighbor about 50 yards away and down a hill. You'll enjoy a private hot tub that faces the lake and expansive lake views that look north-east.
The cottage is modern, updated, and exceptionally clean - and offers that true "cottage" feel with all the modern amenities one would desire to include high-speed internet and upgraded cable TV.
Within minutes you can be sipping wine at many of the area's premier vineyards or exploring the quiet streets of local towns such as Penn Yan, Geneva, or Watkins Glen.
We consistently have RAVE reviews on the cottage and we are told by almost every guest, "this is the most clean and private cottage we've ever rented..."
We also accept pets. Cleaning, linens, and towels are included. No security deposit required.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
I'm 28 and own my own business in Los Angeles, and travel back to the Finger Lakes whenever I can. I grew up in northern Virginia, outside Washington, DC, and graduated from George Mason University. My family has had a cottage on Seneca since 1930, and our whole family has a great attachment to the lake. I also am a partner with my family on 3 other rental properties by Seneca Lake.
Why the Owner Chose Dresden
I love Seneca Lake and I wanted to have my own cottage, just as others in my family do. This area happens to be one of the most choice locations on the whole lake. It has easy access all year, an awesome view of the lake, lots of privacy, and plenty of land to add on in the future. It's also one of the most convenient locations to the wineries and to shopping.
The Unique Benefits of this Cottage
I love the peacefulness and the wonderful views. Along wi9th the hot tub, it's very relaxing and quiet. We have done a great job decorating and I like the way it feels - very cottagy and comfortable. We also have city water, which is rare for a cottage. My family owns the old mansion next door - a 200-year old place that we plan to make into a B & B and wine bar [The Inn of Wine & Roses]. It's awesome being next to that and how much that will add to my cottage.

Beautiful home and hot tub!

I stayed with several friends at this home. It was very nicely decorated and very clean. The bedrooms are small but the beds are comfortable and it's convinient that there were towels and linens availible there. There was, however, only 1 roll of toilet paper for 6 women for a whole weekend- obviously we had to get more but there aren't many stores close- by or open at that time of year. The hot tub was spacious and very relaxing. I would stay there again and highly reccommend this home and the renters. The view of Lake Seneca alone was worth the trip! It made our wine-tasting girls-weekend come together.

We stayed here in March of 2010! I loved this little place. Very charming, very clean, and the hot tub was the best getaway after traveling / site seeing with 2 kids! We also enjoyed the fire pit one night and our dog "protected" us from the curious geese wandering on shore! It was a wonderful vacation. The owners are very personable and they run a great family business!! I will definitely rent from them again! Thank you bunches!

My husband & I had a nice time staying at the cottage, very quiet street! Cottage was clean and neat, yes the bedrooms were small but the living and dining area made up for it. The kitchen was set up with everything you need to cook and a dishwasher included. The view of the lake was nice despite the Seneca Lake Sonar Test Facility next door, all you really hear is some boats leaving in the morning, kinda of interesting history there with Naval testing going on. We had some great wine, wicked weather, 60's to Windy to a Blizzard, made the weekend complete. The owner allowed us to check in late and check out late as well! It is very private and that is what you need when you get away, I would definitely rent again. At the Dresdan Hotel we met some nice people, everyone waves you see on the street, so nice hometown feel. Thanks for sharing your cottage.

What A Wonderful Getaway

Having never been to the finger lakes, my wife and I were very excited as we took our 5 hour drive from the Green Mountains. The area was beautiful with the fall colors on the trees, even more beautiful than back home as we were on vacation. The cottage on the lake was just as beautiful as the photo's and description. The view from the deck was wonderful, especially at sunrise which we frequently enjoyed while sipping coffee in the hot tub. Being pet friendly, our boxer Tyson enjoyed playing in the yard almost as much as he did curling up at our feet after a day of visiting the many nearby vineyards. We enjoyed most of our evening meals by BBQ'ing and using the fully equipped kitchen to prepare our meals. This is a great getaway cottage and we hope to be back there again soon. The owners, who were 8 miles away are readily available but afforded us complete privacy.

Everything was perfect, the location, cottage, and owners. We needed a getaway that was pet friendly. At age 15 & 10 we don't leave them home. Upon arrival the cottage just say's welcome! We enjoyed morning coffee in the hot tub watching the sunrise. Afternoons were spent touring the pet friendly wineries. Evenings were spent with a home cooked diner and a bottle of local wine, followed by star gazing in the hot tub. The dogs loved swimming in the lake & chasing ducks. We saw our first double rainbow while sitting in front of the fire at the edge of the lake. So yes we do recommend it highly. Thank you Pat & Brenda.

The cottage was perfect for our Thanksgiving getaway. As newcomers to the area, we had no accomodations suitable for entertaining our out-of-town guests, the parents! The cottage was cozy and quiet but clean and well appointed. The kitchen was spacious and the veiws are awesome. Thanks to Pat for getting our TV glitch sorted out right away; I couldn't imagine a Thanksgiving without football! Anyone looking for a getaway anytime of the year should look into that cottage. Cheers!

We just returned from our vacation there and we were more than thrilled with this cottage. The pictures do not do it justice. The cottage was clean and very accomodating. And the view - spectacular! We would definitely rent this place again!
