My husband & I had a nice time staying at the cottage, very quiet street! Cottage was clean and neat, yes the bedrooms were small but the living and dining area made up for it. The kitchen was set up with everything you need to cook and a dishwasher included. The view of the lake was nice despite the Seneca Lake Sonar Test Facility next door, all you really hear is some boats leaving in the morning, kinda of interesting history there with Naval testing going on. We had some great wine, wicked weather, 60's to Windy to a Blizzard, made the weekend complete. The owner allowed us to check in late and check out late as well! It is very private and that is what you need when you get away, I would definitely rent again. At the Dresdan Hotel we met some nice people, everyone waves you see on the street, so nice hometown feel. Thanks for sharing your cottage.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Having never been to the finger lakes, my wife and I were very excited as we took our 5 hour drive from the Green Mountains. The area was beautiful with the fall colors on the trees, even more beautiful than back home as we were on vacation. The cottage on the lake was just as beautiful as the photo's and description. The view from the deck was wonderful, especially at sunrise which we frequently enjoyed while sipping coffee in the hot tub. Being pet friendly, our boxer Tyson enjoyed playing in the yard almost as much as he did curling up at our feet after a day of visiting the many nearby vineyards. We enjoyed most of our evening meals by BBQ'ing and using the fully equipped kitchen to prepare our meals. This is a great getaway cottage and we hope to be back there again soon. The owners, who were 8 miles away are readily available but afforded us complete privacy.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Everything was perfect, the location, cottage, and owners. We needed a getaway that was pet friendly. At age 15 & 10 we don't leave them home. Upon arrival the cottage just say's welcome! We enjoyed morning coffee in the hot tub watching the sunrise. Afternoons were spent touring the pet friendly wineries. Evenings were spent with a home cooked diner and a bottle of local wine, followed by star gazing in the hot tub. The dogs loved swimming in the lake & chasing ducks. We saw our first double rainbow while sitting in front of the fire at the edge of the lake. So yes we do recommend it highly. Thank you Pat & Brenda.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here in March of 2010! I loved this little place. Very charming, very clean, and the hot tub was the best getaway after traveling / site seeing with 2 kids! We also enjoyed the fire pit one night and our dog "protected" us from the curious geese wandering on shore! It was a wonderful vacation. The owners are very personable and they run a great family business!! I will definitely rent from them again! Thank you bunches!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The cottage was perfect for our Thanksgiving getaway. As newcomers to the area, we had no accomodations suitable for entertaining our out-of-town guests, the parents! The cottage was cozy and quiet but clean and well appointed. The kitchen was spacious and the veiws are awesome. Thanks to Pat for getting our TV glitch sorted out right away; I couldn't imagine a Thanksgiving without football! Anyone looking for a getaway anytime of the year should look into that cottage. Cheers!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My friends and I wanted a girl's getaway and we found this house online, and thought it looked like exactly what we wanted. When we arrived we were blown away at how it exceeded our expectations. The house was spotless, and very nicely decorated. Pat and Brenda were very gracious hosts, and were available if we had needed anything at all. The hot tub overlooking the lake was just great, and I couldn't think of anything else we may have needed to make it better. Everything was there!! We enjoyed wine tasting at some nearby wineries, and Watkin's Glen State Park was 20 min. away and well worth the day spent there. I would definately love to go back to this house again, and would recommend it to anyone!!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The location is wonderful even though the lake was too windy to take our kayaks out. Close to lots and we scheduled a great tour company that picked us up and dropped us off at the door. The cottage is just as it looks in the photos; comfortable and fun. My wife and I stayed for a long weekend and wished we could have stayed longer. Pat and Brenda are excellent hosts and see to your every need. What a quiet and restful place! Proximity to their old mansion was a plus! As a history buff, that place knocked me out. The accomodations were very nice and we wanted nothing. (Don't forget to bring your own TP and soap though). The view is fantastic and you're only steps away from the lake and the dock. We will remember this stay for a long time and want to return already!! Thanks Pat and Brenda!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My nurse co-workers and I just spent the past weekend at this cottage which was so warm and welcoming that we were in awe upon our arrival. Brenda just does a wonderful job with the decor of the place. The view was spectacular and was very peacfull. We had planned to visit a few wineries and have dinner in town but couldn't bring ourselves to leave. Pat and Brenda are by far the best people we have had the pleasure of renting from. p.s. have them take you on a tour of their 200 year old house, it's fantastic!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The cottage and view were exceptional. Patrick allowed for an early check in on the day of arrival. Everything was just as depicted on the website even down to the wood stacked by the fire pit on the shoreline. The location to the Seneca Lake Wine Tour was excellent and the proximity to a nice resturant was within a 10 minute drive. An incedible cottage for the price. Will recommend to friends and hope to stay here again on a return trip to the lake!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is the first time we have rented this property, although we have stayed in the area previously with another rental agency. I loved the fact that we booked right with Mike, the owner and we definitely plan to make this an annual rental. The property looked exactly like what we saw in the photos on the website. It was clean and the hot tub worked. Mike's father checked in with us one time and was available by phone to answer our questions. We loved the fact that lines were included and there was a washer and dryer. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the cottage and had a wonderful experience! Our main reason for the trip was to visit the Seneca Lake wineries. The cottage is not a far drive from many. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals as we ate in during most of the stay. The bedrooms are cute and have nice closet space...the only negative is their size, they are a bit small. (But we were only in there to sleep) We even enjoyed the hot tub, it was a great way to unwind! I would definately come back in the future!Did you find this review helpful? My husband and I and another couple spent a very relaxing, comfortable weekend at this great house. We arrived late, but the lights were on and music was playing which made us instantly feel at home. The bedrooms are quite small, but the beds are very comfy. We loved having the kitchen to make a quick breakfast before going out to the wineries. We also took advantage of the grill, played croquet, and spent some time relaxing and enjoying the lake view from the hot tub. The owner's dad called us to make sure everything was going well and said if we were around he'd take us on a tour of the mansion next door. They are starting to renovate the mansion with the intention of turning it into a bed and breakfast. Unfortunately, we were out at the wineries at that time or we would've jumped at the chance! (We did peek in though!) We loved the view of the lake and the men took the paddle boat out to do some fishing. All in all- a fabulous getaway. I would definately stay here again. We visit the lake about 4 times a year and generally stay in a hotel. Never again! We are spoiled now - this is the way to go!Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was a quiant little cottage perfect for our girls weekend @ the wineries. The house was very inviting when we arrived. The lights and heat were on. It immediately felt like home. The house was very clean and nicely decorated. The next morning when we were getting ready to leave for our wine tour, the owners father stopped by to make sure that everything was satisfactory. He also invited us to take a tour of the mansion that is behind the cottage that they will be reinvation into a Bed & Breakfast. We all appreciate historic homes so this was a real treat. I can't wait to see it finished. We will definitely come back. We had a wonderful time staying at the cottage and doing the wine tour. I would recommend this to anyone.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoyed a very comfortable weekend here. The cottage is well decorated and has every amenity you would need. Taking in the view of the lake while relaxing in the hot tub was the perfect way to end a day of wine tasting. The cottage is centrally located close many great wineries and you only have a short drive to find a variety of restaurants. Also, the owners provide an abundance of the little extras that you normally do not find at a vacation rental. Quite simply, this place greatly exceeded our expectations besides having very reasonable mid-winter rates. When the opportunity presents itself again, my wife and I will not think twice about staying here again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed with several friends at this home. It was very nicely decorated and very clean. The bedrooms are small but the beds are comfortable and it's convinient that there were towels and linens availible there. There was, however, only 1 roll of toilet paper for 6 women for a whole weekend- obviously we had to get more but there aren't many stores close- by or open at that time of year. The hot tub was spacious and very relaxing. I would stay there again and highly reccommend this home and the renters. The view of Lake Seneca alone was worth the trip! It made our wine-tasting girls-weekend come together.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This getaway for two was well-located for access to the Seneca Lake wineries, and afforded a nice lakeside setting for simply escaping. A clean, cutely-decorated, tidy little cabin, it had small bedrooms, but was self-contained in that there was a washer/dryer and dishwasher, plus all the necessary appliances for domestic life. The owners' parents greeted us--fun, friendly folks. They saw to it that we were comfortable and then let us be. However--this is not the place for late risers. Next door we found, to our unwelcome surprise, some sort of marine experimental station that starts up its loud diesel engines and leaves them rattling from about 7AM through 8AM. Yikes! This meant necessarily closing all the windows at night and pulling the big, clunky, almost adequate, stand-alone air conditioning unit out of its closet so it could preside over most of the kitchen. That being said, we enjoyed our brief week there (no place being perfect, after all) and wish the new owner best of luck in his new role as landlord.Recommended for: Girls getaway
