Falls Branch Chalet is a charming and cozy vacation home that offers an exclusive private setting with gorgeous mountain views, the sound of bubbling water flowing down the granite ravine behind the house and a variety of flowers blooming for ten months out of the year offers the feeling of having your own piece of heaven. The setting would be perfect for honeymooners, anniversary getaways or just a really nice place to base yourself out of when exploring Asheville, Hendersonville, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and a variety of other areas in Western North Carolina.
The cabin was originally built in the 1920’s and added onto in 1967. We acquired the house three years ago and have made major changes since then. The house is of an Arts and Crafts/Mission theme and the outside is still of a rustic style. There are stone steps and a stone path leading into the back where the spring fed waterfall cascades down the ravine. The name Falls Branch comes from the waterfall that turns into a creek that flows past the house. We have Blueberry Bushes that grow along the creek that guests are welcome to and a variety of flowers as well. Close by on our land is a river that has trout so fishing is also available.
The house is located in the Hickory Nut Gorge just two miles east of the Eastern Continental divide. The famous Chimney Rock Park with spectacular views of Lake Lure and the surrounding mountains. The towns of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure have various restaurants and all kinds of shops to browse through. Lake Lure offers a mountain beach with a water park, boat rentals or bring your own boat to launch into the lake and lots more. The beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway and famous Biltmore House are all within a thirty minutes or less drive. The Chalet has lots of maps and brochures from various attractions in the area.
