My wife and I were looking for some time away from our little ones and I think we found the perfect spot. Usually the pictures are always better than the actual but not with this place. It was clean and well furnished and had the beds of a 5 star hotel. We even went on a wine tour through the North Georgia Mountains and it was fantastic. Can't wait to come back!

Wow...I have stayed here numerous times and cannot believe what was stated in the previous review. This retreat is impeccably decorated, clean, comfortable ( pillow top mattresses!) a view to die for, and too many other superlatives to mention. Further, the Owner's have been nothing but gracious and accomodating as they take justifiable pride in their home and clients. I try to leave a rental home in as nice or better condition than when I arrived. Apparently other renters do not feel the same stewardship as I. I HIGHLY recommend this home and please take good care of it!

Overall the house was ok, was a bit small but not too bad. No jacuzzi, no pool table so kinda boring. The trouble came when owner had to return security deposit. 26 days later owner decided he is in title for more and returned less, without prior discussion. It was not the minuscule amount it was the way he handled it. SNEEKY. so, my advice to future renters be careful,
Owner response:Well I guess after 7 sucessful years of renting our mountain home I finally had "renters from hell". They broke items, left the home trash filled, dirty dishes everywhere, the refriderator was disgusting! (and I have photos to prove it). So what I did is hold back only $50 of the $250 security deposit as the cleaning folks charged me extra. This is the first time that I have ever held back any money from a security deposit........I have warned my neighbors that rent their homes to watch out for Dmitry and Oleg!

This was my second visit to this beautiful Big Canoe home! We had a wonderful time and the house was just as nice as it was back in 2008 (my first visit). I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing mountain get away. Thanks again!

Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home. We had a wonderful weekend exploring the trails in Big Canoe. The kids also loved being so close to the pool and rock slide (and all the movies you have!). Your kitchen is very well-appointed - had everything we needed to whip up an impressive brunch for Fathers' Day. We hope to be back again and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My family of five and another family of five, spent a holiday weekend here and enjoyed it. The house is well kept and clean and provides more than enough room to roam. This is a great set up for a large extended family or mulit-families traveling together because the three levels and numerous baths, allow each family a little privacy when needed. Ron is a delight to deal with and was more than understanding when we ran in to a glitch at check out. **He'll warn you in advance, directions and getting to Big Canoe is not easy, is even more difficult in the dark and Mapquest and GPS are inaccurate. Enjoyable place to visit!
Owner response:I now tell everyone to google the Big Canoe Chapel.....they have very easy directions and our home is very close to the Chapel and Fitness Center! So glad that you and your family had fun. cheers, Ron

We had a wonderful time on our week long vacation. The house is laid out perfectly for with 3 different levels for people to sleep. The beds were very comfortable and the house is decorated very nicely for a warm and comfortable feel. Great access to the pool, beach and fitness center. Location made it easy for us to take several day trips to area attractions. The owners were very friendly and easy to work with. The house was exactly as described. I highly recommend this house.

This was the perfect vacation get away! The house is warm, comfortable and spacious enough for kids and adults. Our group thoroughly enjoyed the home and the location was the best on the mountain--overlooking the lake and a quick walk to the beach, pool and rock slide. We can't wait to return to this spot again!

We so enjoyed our stay here. The home is within an area in Big Canoe known as Laurel Ridge. A nice area to take a hike/walk - very hilly! The pictures on VRBO show the lake, beach and pool but these are not visible in the late Spring and Summer due to the trees in full bloom. Nonetheless, those amenities are a short walk (but steep) walk away. Whether there are just two of you (like us) or a large family going, this home is ideal. Home is well appointed, comfortable beds and bedding, great kitchen, cozy screened porch and a huge outdoor deck that looks toward the lake/beach/pool. Please know you must bring any/all food items, even condiments (rules prevent even condiments being left in the home from renter to renter). There wasn't even salt, which I think was ridiculous. We bought some and left it there hoping the next folks weren't in the same predicament. Bring ALL toiletries, even bug spray. I would rent this home again, without a second thought.

Our family had a great experience at this house. It was beautifully decorated, with plenty of space spread out over three floors. The location is unbeatable by being THE closest house to the Swim Club - just cut through the back yard and you are there. We would definitely rent from these owners again.

We spent a great Thanksgiving weekend at this beautiful home. It overlooks the lake and is very near the Fitness Center and Indoor Pool. At night you could see a star-filled sky from the spacious back deck. There was plenty of room for our family and friends and with the different levels people could stay up and play cards, while others could watch TV or turn in early. It had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner and other meals. We are already planning our next trip to Big Canoe and we will definitely be booking this unit again.

We have rented this mountain home for a week's stay for three years in a row. The home is very cozy with enough living space spread among three floors to have several guests and their children stay with us. The amenities at Big Canoe are phenomenal, the view is beautiful, the owners are very good folks who want their rental guests to enjoy a memorable vacation. I recommend this home for anyone wishing to kick back in the mountains of Big Canoe.
