We stayed in the Zen House with my two kids (4 and 10) and my parents. It was perfect. Beautifully furnished, great layout. The kitchen was well stocked and the fresh flowers and treats/snacks left for us were greatly appreciated and a very nice touch. The kids loved the hot tub and spent time in it every day. The property was very clean and well maintained - they even had lots of extra supplies in the bathrooms for items we may have forgotten! The garden was very peaceful and it was great watching the squirrels and hummingbirds enjoying the trees. It was a great location - very convenient to the airport and was easy to get to attractions. We did two days at Disney, explored the La Brea Tar Pits, went to Santa Monica and the Getty Center and the California Science Center.

We stayed at The Zen House for a girlfriend getaway. The home is beautiful and a peaceful place to relax and get away from the chaos of every day life. It has excellent access to all LA area locations. We highly recommend staying here.

I can’t say enough great stuff about the Zen Home and the owners (Donna & Steve). I have never felt so welcomed when vacationing. The Zen Home has everything you could possibly need. It’s clean, spacious, and in a great neighborhood. I am always somewhat hesitant when renting a home because you just never know what you’re going to get. With this house, you get more than you could ever imagine and certainly MUCH more than you would ever get at the overpriced first-class hotels. We stayed here for 5 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Its location is perfect (although traffic to LA can be challenging!). Although we would have loved to relax in the hot tub after a long day, unfortunately we never got to enjoy it because there is a house rule that you can’t use it past 9 p.m. and we never got home before 9 p.m. However, that would not stop me from returning to the Zen Home if I’m ever in the area in the future. You will thoroughly enjoy this home as we did. Communication with Donna before our trip was excellent. She is very professional, honest, and kind. Donna & Steve are first class and their home deserves more than 5 stars!!

Me my 2 daughters and granddaughter stayed here for one full week and we wished it could have been longer!! The pictures are spot on but until you walk in and feel the presence that the pictures can not give you > You stop and say ahaa or wow!! Donna was very nice working with me to get early and late check out for our flight times!! The flowers and treats were a special treat we enjoyed all week !! would love to go back and stay again, so if I am every in that area I will be in the ZEN house!! So if you are in the LA area stay at the ZEN house easy to get to were ever you are going!! Thanks Donna for letting us enjoy your house for the week!!K

This was more than satisfactory. Logistics were easy. Easy place to find, close to the beach, good grocery store and other such things nearby, but not too nearby. And the house is really well done. Three good bedrooms, spacious living area, great kitchen.

The Zen Home is a lovely home with just as wonderful owners who made us feel welcome and so at home! We lived in playa del Rey for five years and being back reminded us of the beauty of that part of Los Angeles. Peaceful, warm and so relaxing. There was a total of five adults in our group and the home easily accommodated all of us and could easily have more. It also would be great for kids!!! We look forward to our next stay there!

We stayed at The Zen Home for 3 nights in late June 2012 and what a great stay we had! EXCELLENT communication with Donna! Well before we arrived, she checked with me about any special needs my family might have and addressed those before we got there. Her emails for the deposit, remaining balance, and access to get into the home were timely and courteous. After we arrived, Donna set out snacks. The detailed instructions about the house (including directions to the closest grocery store) were clear, easy to find and understand. The fridge and pantry included bottles of water and the closets provided plenty of towels and blankets. The Zen Home was relaxing -- we made sure to take advantage of the hot tub and bbq (and highly enjoyed all the TV channels too!). The Zen Home is close enough to LAX to be convenient but also far enough away that it wasn't bothersome. We even met Donna on one of the days of our stay. She was super friendly and nice and wanted to make sure we were enjoying our stay. She even told us that she'd purchased tea pots (which we found on the counter upon our arrival) especially for us! (Thank you, Donna!) There were 6 of us, so we occupied all of the bedrooms. Our only criticisms (and really this is being a bit nitpicky after all of the other great things about The Zen Home) were early morning noise coming from some of the surrounding homes and on garbage collection day and sunlight streaming into the back bedroom in the early morning (though that might have been alleviated with the black net-like "curtains" which I don't think we used). Overall, we loved our stay at The Zen Home. I'd definitely stay there again and also recommend it to others. Thanks again for a great stay!

Our family - two adults and five children - came to visit family and travel around the LA metropolitan area and the house met all of our needs. It served as a beautiful, serene, quiet way to start each day, a rest stop between all of our activities and the perfect place to end the day - dining al fresco with a soak in the hot tub after long days. It's location near the airport made picking up and dropping up extremely easy - albeit the sounds of the planes overhead where present but very quickly became white noise we were used to. The house is spacious and accommodated our entire family. It really was stocked with everything we could need, and our kids loved the goodies that were left by the owners as welcome treats! We would recommend it to anyone looking for a family house for a week's vacation! It really fit our needs perfectly!! Thank you!

Anyone looking for a quiet home away from home to rest, relax and visit with friends or family could not do any better than the Zen home. Thanks to the gracious hospitality and attention to detail from the hosts, the minute you enter the Zen home you feel as if a close friend has welcomed you. Personal notes, helpful hints about the area, snacks to hold you over until you do your own shopping are just part of the warm welcome. The neighborhood is quiet and serene. Proximity to the beach, the airport, shopping and restaurants make the Zen home a great place to start out each day. Although, as lovely as the Zen home is, sometimes the best plan for the day is just staying in and enjoying all the amenities in the house and on the grounds. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking and eating utensils. Bedrooms and baths have ample supply of linens, soaps, etc. We will definitely return to the Zen home and are pleased to recommend it to travelers to the Los Angeles area.

We loved our stay at the Zen house. It was a very cool house and very comfortable. There were flowers, cinnamon rolls, water, coffee, and more. We have never experienced such hospitality in a rental house before. It was also very clean and well-maintained. The Zen house was just a great house and Donna and Steve couldn't have been nicer.

I am picky and admit I spend hours searching for the perfect vacation home to rent. The Zen Home truly exceeded my and my family's expectations. The home is in a quiet, established neighborhood yet close to all that LA has to offer. We were traveling with our one-year old daughter. I never met the hosts, yet they treated us like friends. They volunteered to supply the home with a high chair and pack-n-plays at no extra cost. They also have the home stocked with everything you will ever need for your vacation, ranging from beach chairs and sand pails to toothbrushes and specialty kids' shampoo. The back patio area is amazing and so is the balcony on the second floor. We were sad to leave this beautiful, relaxing home.

The best place in California to stay!

We stayed at the Zen-home with our five children (age 8-19) for 4 weeks and had the best time ever. The house is very comfortable beautiful, peaceful, clean and offers everything you might need including bodyboards for the kids, chairs to use at the beach etc. The neighbourhood is very quiet, so we really enjoyed the yard and jacuzzi. The owners could not be nicer and the way they treat their guests really could not be any better. It's the perfect place to visit everything in California. The beaches are just idyllic and very quiet, Los Angeles with all its famous sites is just about half an hour by car and there is so much more to see and do like Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, etc. We also went to San Francisco, Las Vegas and Palm Springs, all very easy accesible by car. I am 100% sure we could not have picked a better place to spend our vacation. We could go on about this great place for ever. This house is unbelievable! I still have to word for that amazing house ! Were 7 people from 18 to 51. I never saw a house like that . I felt that I was renting a house in Beverley Hills. The furniture in the house ! , Sound system, TV, bedroom everything that you need ! The kitchen if you like to cook! Hot tub in the back !, Very quiet neighbourhood. I rent different houses for my holiday summer & winter, Florida Vancouver, Whistler and in Quebec, Canada, and I can tell you that I never saw a house like that! We also had a nice and warm welcome note from the owner Donna & Steven. Donna & Steven thanks you again for that wonderful stay in the Zen Home ! Donna you’re the best !

Wow! There were 7 people in our party - 4 adults, 3 children under 8 and we could not have picked a better place to stay in LA. The house is large, is beautifully furnished, has all the amenities you need and has a hot tub! There are beach towels, sand toys, plenty of towels and linens - and a must have for us which is a washer/dryer. The property is very close to the airport as well as the highway, and very convenient. The neighbourhood is really nice and it was a great location for my daily run. Donna was very accommodating as we needed a later check out (3pm) and throughout the booking process she was responsive and really easy to work with. Thank you Donna!

Peaceful location and only 10 mins by car to venice beach. Beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Everything was provided numerous toiletries,shower gels, shampoo etc. All bedrooms were lovely and spacious. Everything you needed in a kitchen was there. Hi Fi system was excellent with plenty of cd's to choose from. Cable TV, DVD Player with a large variety of DVD's to choose from. Easy to get to downtown LA by car. After a day in LA it was Lovely to chill out in the large hot tub. Highly recommended.

The Zen Home was a perfect place for our extended family of 6 adults and one baby to meet and play. Each bedroom was comfortable and private with plenty of beautiful, clean bedding supplies. The baths had an amazing array of amenities. The kitchen provided everything a cook could ask for. The sound system and wide selection of music were enjoyed by all. The backyard was private and relaxing, including the large hot tub. Overall, the Zen Home felt like "home" and was very serene.

Upon arrival we were estatic to see how beautiful the zen home was, pictures posted on the website don't do the property justice. the house was immaculate, well equipped from towels to movies along with the amazing hot tub out back. the whole property was well maintained along with the beautiful gardens. we look forward in the near future to return.

It takes only a couple of traffic-free minutes to get from the airport to this wonderful house, and yet, when you are in the house, you have no sense that the airport is right next door. It truly is peaceful and zen-like. The house and courtyard are eminently soothing and it's wonderful to return to such peace after buzzing round LA and its environs and jump in the hot tub and just relax. The house is certainly the most well-appointed and most well-organised of any rental house I've ever rented. We made a full Thanksgiving meal there and the only item we had to go out and buy was a turkey baster! I wish more rental houses had the amenities of the Zen Home; it really feels like vacation staying in a house run by someone who has thought of EVERYTHING!

We stayed here the last four days of our 3,5 week vacation in the US. After travellling >2500 miles by RV, rental car this was the perfect place to relax, in a quiet area, close to beach, city and airport. All facilities were there and the children really enjoyed the tub, dvd's and the internet. Thank you for your hospitality and perfect facilities, everything was in the house even coffee and beach utilities.

At first we had a very friendly welcoming from the owners. The property was everything we expected and much more. The house was very clean and well maintained. The equipment in the house were awesome. The very private and nice backyard with the jacuzzi are *top*!! It was conveniently located to the airport (no noise), close to Venice Beach and Santa Monica. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a house to rent for their stay in LA. When we come back we will definitely try to stay there again.

Myself and my family (4 adults and 2 children) had the great pleasure of renting this Zen Home in January 2010. We all have the same opinion and that was FANTASTIC. The attention to detail by the owner was second to none. The decor was beautiful with the Zen theme throughout. It certainly made our holiday as we had this spacious tranquil home to come back to at the end of every action packed day. The jacuzzi was an excellent addition. Its location is perfect for access to all major freeways and tourist destinations in the Los Angeles Area. We cannot recommend this home highly enough. Many thanks to Donna and Steven for all they did to make our special holiday the best yet. We will DEFINATELY be back..

We stayed at the Zen home in a group of 3 couples and 1 single during October 2008.The house was extreemly well kept and very tastefully decorated. We had no interference from the owner at all during our stay. We cooked on the grill and just a wonderful, relaxing time after long days out on the city. Would certainly go back and highly reccomended. A nice area, close to the airoprt.
