Perfect vacation home in a fantastic location! Situated in a quiet, residential neighborhood, it is a quick and easy walk down to the beach. It is also within walking distance of quaint downtown San Clemente with many shopping and eating options. The house itself is beautiful with all the comforts of home. It slept 8 of us very comfortably, and there were numerous toys available to keep our children happy. Owner was especially nice and easy to work with. We will most definitely be visiting this home again on future vacations and would recommend it to anyone traveling in the San Clemente area.

Our 3 generation family of 9 stayed here for a week. The house proved to be everything that was advertised and so much more. The fully equipped kitchen was a complete delight to cook in, the play room and craft corner were a daily adventure for our 20 month and 3 1/2 year olds! In short we took advantage of all the amenities and everything this house had to offer. The Sunday farmer's market was a great treat and we found a small park close to the beach that the little ones loved. We would certainly recommend this house, the cool weather and the San Clemente area for everyone.

This home by the beach was MORE than we could have asked! Spotlessly clean, magically furnished for children and adults alike, spacious rooms with all the amenities, and a lovely garden retreat. Our family of 12 (children, parents, grandparents) were in heaven for the week! Two blocks from the San Clemente pier and beach, and two blocks from downtown. The owners were a joy to work with, friendly and helpful. We look forward to a return trip!

We stayed at Tim & Cathy's home for 10 days and enjoyed every minute of it. The house was set up perfectly for our family of 5. The kitchen is equipped with every piece of cooking equipment you could need, and the house has plenty of toys to keep our young children entertained when we weren't at the beach. The house is within walking distance of the beach and downtown San Clemente, and we enjoyed on Sundays the Farmer's market just a couple blocks away. We would recommend this house to anyone!

Best vacation we ever had in San Clemente because of this fantastic beach house! Our family of 4 (two daughters, ages 3 and 6 1/2), grandparents and my brother and his wife were very comfortable in this lovely, airy, spacious, clean, completely stocked house. Our daughters were delighted (& kept busy!) with the art/crafts nook off the living room, the large boxes of Kapla blocks in the living room, and the fabulous play area upstairs with the indoor swings. Shelves are filled with a wonderful collection of children's books. The kitchen is a gourmet cook's delight with professional appliances and utensils. Beautiful master bedroom suite with ultra comfortable king bed and large shower (and cute toddler bed). Charming children's bedroom with 2 twin beds was ideal for our daughters. Grandparents were comfortable on queen bed in other bedroom and sharing full bathroom with our daughters. Brother & wife slept on queen air mattress which set up easily and comfortably in office. Pocket door & regular door enclosed office and full bathroom from kitchen creating a suite. 1/2 bath outside this downstairs "suite" convenient for rest of family. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with everything we like to do within walking distance (or a short drive) - surfing (Trestles) & beach, yoga (AsanaFit), grocery shopping at Trader Joe's, shopping & dining on Del Mar. We lacked for absolutely nothing during our stay because of the Mashburn's attention to detail. A binder with laminated instruction sheets had excellent local restaurant recommendations categorized by "with kids" or "without kids." Thank you Mashburn family - we will never stay anywhere else in San Clemente!

This house was perfect for our family of 5. Large bedrooms, great common space, a fully equipped kitchen, quiet neighborhood, steps away from the beach and downtown San Clemente...we couldn't have asked for a better situation. The house was impeccably clean, with lots of toys and beach equipment for our three kids, ages 6, 4, and 1. Should we come back to the area, we would definitely want to stay at this house again!

Without a doubt the most amazing family home ever! We had the best holiday with the wee ones and friends from the UK. We (parents and kids) were entertained every second of the day with all the wonderful toys, the beach, the surfing, the back yard apres surf drinks and dinner. My husband and I actually found the holiday easy, relaxing, effortless...with little kids, holidays are not normally easy. Tim and Cathy's house was a dream holiday come true. The house is immaculate, luxurious and every aspect of the house is paradise for both adults and children. Just go, dont hesitate. Its worth every penny. Go now!

We stayed at Tim's lovely family home during August 2009. We travelled over from the UK for a wedding in south LA and afterwards spent a fantastic week in San Clemente. We travelled with our 11 month old son and shared the house with some close friends who now live in Calgary...they have two kids aged 20 months and 3 years. The house was perfect for us. There is a fantastic playroom for the chiildren...full of wonderful toys and amazing indoor swings...the kids were in heaven. As were the parents! The house lends itself to making a holiday (sorry, vacation!) with kids as easy as it can be. Lots of space, limited hazards and details such as children's cutlery and crockery were much appreciated. When the kids have gone to bed the outside space is lovely to relax in .,. the deck and seating lends itself well to enjoying a large glass of wine and a cold beer or three. I fell in love with the barbeque...really good quality and perfect for cooking the great quality beef and seafood you can get in town. Apart from the great layout the attention to detail is the thing that strikes you most about Tim's house...the quality of the kitchen appliances, the well stocked larder and the outside post-surf shower with shampoo provided are just a few examples. My wife and I are keen surfers and Tim kindly arranged for a good quality board for us to hire. He also has a couple of a softboards and boogie boards for guests to borrow. The beach in San Clemente is lovely and just a 5-10 min walk away. The surf here is pretty good and we had lots of fun sessions even though the swell was small. A 10-15 minute drive down the road is San Onofre...a world class longboard wave...for us, the kind of things dreams are made of! We spent lots of time there and I even managed to share the surf with surfing legend Skip Frye, which made my day. San Clemente is a lovely town, really laid back and relaxing but has some very nice restaurants and shops. Our suitcases were definitely fuller when we left...we spent plenty of our British pounds in "Icons of Surf" and "Mac & Madi" (a fantastic kids shop). We run a vacation rental property in the UK ("The Lookout" in Croyde, Devon, UK) so know a little bit about what it takes to offer a great property for people to enjoy their vacation and can happily say that Tim's house is outstanding...be confident that you will be staying in a great house in a great location!!!!

We rented Tim and Cathy's home the week before Memorial Day this past year and we ere not disappointed at all. We have 2 young daughters (3 and 5) and let me just say that the play area for the kids and backyard play house were awesome. Also the layout of the home lent itself to a very relaxed and comfortable week. We used the beach everyday and it is very close to the home. We love the town also very nice and quaint. Tim and Cathy also allow you to use their beach equipment. Will definitely be staying here again. Thanks Tim and Cathy!

Our family can't say enough of great things about our stay. We comfortably slept a group of 7 adults and 5 kids. This home has everything. For the adults, comfy beds, fantastic bathrooms with the best water pressure ever, the most relaxing yard, the coolest kitchen with a stove that rocks. For the kids, there's everything from dress-up clothes, toys, movies, art supplies, and of course - the swings. The beach is a short 3 minute walk down the block and down the stairs. We made use of the surf board, boogie boards, wet suits, and sand toys. If you want a fantastic home, great access to the beach, as well a convenient location to all local attractions (i.e. Sea World, Disney, San Diego Zoo, etc), lock this one in while you can. You will not be disappointed

Our extended family rented this great beach house last August and everyone had a fantastic and relaxing time. The children, ages 5, 7, & 9, felt that they had landed in paradise and made full use of the toys, books, swings, playhouse, zipline and nearby beach. The kids’ bedroom (2 twin beds) was absolutely magical to the girls. The stairs to the beach can be a little daunting to those who have been more couch/computer potato than physically active in the last few years, but were completely do-able and got easier every time. The children, of course, had no problem zipping up the beach stairs and delighted in rubbing it in the faces of the adults. It was easy to walk to the main street for ice cream treats (Baskin Robbins), restaurants or take out. The supermarket is close and a Trader Joe’s isn’t a far drive, so our kitchen was well-stocked. We also took advantage of a local Farmer’s Market on the weekend and filled the house with fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, baked goods, and other treats. We made use of the BBQ for dinner and the firepit for a s’mores dessert. The owners were very attentive to our stay and when there was a small problem with an appliance, they were right on it until it was fixed. The beds were all comfy and we managed to sleep up to 9 easily: a set of grandparents, 2-3 middle-aged adults, a 12 year old, and 3 kids under the age of 10. We could have easily added more if we had used the Queen Aerobeds (we brought 2 twin-size Aerobeds with us). Even though we live full-time in Southern California and can easily get to our local beaches (Los Angeles/Santa Monica and Long Beach), San Clemente was a delightful change of pace for us and we felt like we were a million miles away from the stresses of home and work. The beach was the perfect destination in the afternoons with waves that were comfortable for the younger children and water warm enough for all to enjoy. When we needed to “chill” we settled in front of a very nice HD TV and watched some TV (last year we were glued to politics and the Olympics). The wireless internet helped us keep connected with the little bit of work that still needed to get done. We’re going back again this summer, since we’re hooked on the R&R and fun that the San Clemente “Zipline House” provides.
