Welcome to Homestead Farm South. We are located in the Blue Ridge Mountain community of Pisgah Forest, only four miles from the entrance to the Pisgah National Forest and just ten minutes from the town of Brevard and the Brevard Music Center. Nearby sites include Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, and the Cradle of Forestry. Also nearby is the Dupont State Forest, including Hooker, High, and Triple Falls. Other area sites include Biltmore Estate, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Carl Sandburg's historic home, and Flat Rock Playhouse.

If you are tired of tiny hotel rooms with heat and air that are impossible to set, noisy halls, the trip to the Laundromat when you'd rather be sight-seeing, having to eat every meal out, not having a place to store the fish you just caught, and all the other things you dread about a vacation, then this is the place for you. Leave home without leaving the comforts of home!

We offer a one bedroom, air conditioned suite in an upstairs apartment with a private entrance that accommodates up to four people. Completed in 2000, the apartment has a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom with bathtub, washer and dryer, living room with a queen-size sleeper sofa, separate bedroom with a king-size bed and plenty of closet space, and a sundeck. The apartment is on a 22-acre farm with magnificent views that borders the French Broad River. Our farm animals include horses, goats, chickens, and turkeys, as well as three Great Pyrenees dogs.

  • I really enjoyed our stay at Homestead Farm South! My son and I had experienced storm damage from Gaston and needed a break. It was beautiful and relaxing. The apartment itself was immaculate and charmingly decorated. It was 5 minutes from Brevard and about 15 minutes from Hendersonville. My husband and I would definitely book this apartment again. Kim and Ken Burton were very helpful with information. Come visit the beautiful mountains!

  • We had a blast! There is so much to do within such a short distance - Asheville, hiking, biking, some of the best fly fishing east of the Mississippi and great food! The Burton's hospitality gave us Bostonians a true flavor of the South. We are eager to return. Thanks!
