Property description

Imagine a week or two in our 19th century cape which sits looking out over fields to the tip of the Pemaquid Harbor, just 3 miles from New Harbor, Maine and an idyllic white sand Pemaquid Beach. Brand NEW kitchen ell, with new appliances, gas range and convection oven. Stunning new soapstone countertops and a comfortable family area with small gas fireplace. Recently renovated with updated plumbing, fresh paint throughout, new and tasteful furnishings and 2 new bathrooms. Relaxing in the midst of aesthetic details - wide-plank floors, beadboard paneling in bathrooms, fireplace and a hand carved wood railing to the second floor - add to the charm and ease-of-living in this home.

The new sun room has views of the Pemaquid Harbor and now offers another area for dining. The master bedroom holds a queen size bed on the main level, as well as the living room with a dining ell are also on the first floor. Two bedrooms upstairs, with a connected small bedroom that serves as a fourth bedroom, known as the Treehouse Bedroom, makes this house flexible and comfortable. Nearby swimming is at Pemaquid Beach or the Bristol Mills swimming hole. Take the boat out to Monhegan Island from New Harbor!

Pemaquid Beach: White sandy beach. Quaint with wonderful views, snack bar and bathroom facilities.

Pemaquid Light House: Complete the tour and understand the importance of the lighthouses along the coast of Maine. A snackbar/restaurant is located there for your convenience.

Moneghan Island : Take the ferry out of New Harbor and explore the artist's community of Moneghan Island on foot.

Darmariscotta: Traditional New England town on the Damariscotta River. Wonderful restaurants, bookstore, art galleries, stores, and theatre.

Christmas Cove: A quintessential Maine summer community with restaurant, spectacular views and a swinging drawbridge.

Damariscotta River Association: Provides wonderful trails for walking along the Pemaquid Peninsula in Bristol and South Bristol. We have a wonderful book listing all of the locations.

We continue to have repeat renters that have been coming to our home for 2-3 years. We believe this is a testament in of itself. Come enjoy a home to relax in, slow down your pace and discover the simple pleasures of Maine.

Pemaquid Point is one of many peninsulas off the mid-coast of Maine. The quaint, historical town of Damriscota (where you can find Reny's, antique shops, and one of the few remaining soda fountains-drug stores in the country) is from where Pemaquid Point originates. Pemaquid Point is home to one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world as well as the location to several forts and original settlements, beaches, hiking trails, and water activities. Pemaquid is a little more laid back than its neighbors to the north and south. To the south is the Boothbay Harbor Region, where there is an aquarium as well as lots of shopping and night life. To the north is the Camden-Rockport region, home to many antique shops, more stores, and plenty of good restaurants. Views abound from wherever you are or to wherever you travel, whether you're driving or boating. You can enjoy many outdoor activities or sit back to read your favorite book on the beach or on the deck of this 19th c. cottage

Golf: There is a golf course about 5 miles away.
