This is the fourth year, that we have stayed in this delightful cottage. Jim is always straight-forward, and easy to deal with. The cottage stays consistent year after year: clean, comfortable, and homey. The location is beautiful - and it's wonderful to have the large back yard leading down to the lake. We look forward to our annual retreat to this cottage, where we visit with local family. We're hoping to make it more often to the lake, in the coming years - and will hopefully find that this cottage will be available -- because we can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

We just returned from a week at Cossayuna Lake and we're already missing it! It is so beautiful and peaceful there, you'll never want to leave. The house was, as others have said, better than advertised. It is immaculately clean, but still homey and welcoming. It was the perfect size for our family of 5. They had everything we could possibly have needed. My kids had a wonderful time fishing from the dock (caught tons of bluegill) and we all enjoyed going out on the paddle boat and kayak (never even needed to get the canoe out, although it's so great to offer it for people's use). Those were a huge plus for us and one of the reasons we rented this house specifically. We have lots of family near Saratoga, so it was a great location for us - close, but not too close! We also spent a fantastic day over in Vermont - took the kids to the Alpine Slide at Bromley and enjoyed walking and lunching in Manchester. Really an easy (and beautiful) drive. Finally, the owner was an absolute pleasure to work with. Always easy to get in touch with via email. He even called during the week to check to see if we needed anything. We have rented many homes in the past and this is the first time we've heard from the owner during our stay. I would highly recommend renting this property!Did you find this review helpful? Having spent decades in marketing communications, I expect advertising photos to be flattering, but such is not the case. In fact, this place is so much more than it looks like online. These pics can't convey the serene feel, the smell of balsam needles, the sense of deep privacy and the crisp air that envelops you upon arrival ... and makes you want to stay. What a great cottage, appointed with every comfort you'd want. Wonderful location, too. We went to Saratoga every day of our week's stay, and we discovered wonderful hamlets along every path (Oh - plan on stopping daily at The Ice Cream Man outside Schuylerville -- fantastic frozen custard). I definitely recommend this cottage if you're able to go up a normal flight of stairs for the bedrooms.. We wish we were back there now.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

WOW! Just what the doctor order! Our family has done a Father's Day mini vacation for years, all book thru VRBO..this has by far been the best!! The location was perfect, the house was comfortable, clean and well apointed w/ everything you would need for a casual get away. It was perfect for our small little family (2 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog) Can not say enough about how relaxed we felt, wish we booked a longer stay. Very close to Saratoga but we wished we didnt waste a day going to town and stayed on the lake for that day. The paddle boat was fun for the kids and the canoe fun for the adults. Fires on the water's edge perfect! Watching the boats go by w/ the sun refelecting on the water perfect! Fishing off the dock, the husband didnt catch anything (except grass) but it didnt matter! Dont hesitate to book this rental! Jim was also very accommodating. Hopefully we will see the lake again next Father's Day!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Jim & Karen, We'll admit to some apprehension about finding a house online -- all the reviews were really good -- but the house seemed almost too good to be true. After spending 5 peaceful days at your home, we agree that it IS almost too good to be true! It is just perfect. We thank you, Jim & Karen, for being so friendly & easy to deal with, for the efforts made to ensure that our vacation went smoothly, and for the attention to details that made us feel at home immediately. We enjoyed beautiful weather and memorable times with our local family. We feel very fortunate to have stumbled across this little cottage, and look forward to returning - hopefully often. PS - The mattress & the quiet made for really good sleeping! Don & LauraDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Jim & Karen, We really enjoyed our two weeks at your cabin on the lake. Your cabin is really beautiful inside and out. As other people mentioned "the pictures on the internet do not do it justice." The fall foliage at this time of year was awesome. We will look forward to coming back at other times when we come to visit our daughter. Is's nice to have somewhere to come "home" to after a busy day. Thank you again, The Moore'sDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Jim & Karen- We were so pleasantly surprised & thrilled at how beautiful, comfortable & relaxing your lovely lake house is! It brought back memories from childhood of visiting the little lake "camp" of family friends - happy memories I hadn't thought about in years. We didn't see the eagle, but that was probably for the best because he would have fallen right out of that tree laughing when the entire family took an unplanned polar plunge into the lake when we expertly flipped out of the canoe. No Worries - things like that are exactly what makes vacations memorable! We had a wonderful time and are so incredibly grateful to you for your incredible genorosity & hospitality - thank you so, so much! Julie, Pedro & Corabella Dieguez(& Brian and Poe too) PS - This was a perfect time to visit - the autumn colors were unbelievably post card perfect and the weather was perfect too. :)Did you find this review helpful? Jim: Thanks for letting us stay in your cottage at the last minute. It was really wonderful. We did see the eagle in the morning. It actually swooped down and caught a fish right by the small log floating down there. This is a great place to stay, we will recommend it to friends. Had a great time. Thanks, The Truby's P.S. - The interior is very well decorated and pleasing to the eye.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Not only did we see the eagle, we had dinner with him. He stayed in the "dead" tree for about 1/2 hour. During that time we roasted hot dogs over an open fire and watched in amazement as the eagle dove down and snatched a fish with his claws out of the water. He brought the fish back to the dead tree and proceeded to eat in our company. As the sun finally started to set, sadly, he departed. I was amazed how unbothered he was with our activities just below him. We even had time to run in and get our camera to capture the moment. We won't forget him (her?) for quite some time!
