I have never done this before with home away and was very nervous at first! Mike the owner of the property was so nice and helping me feel at ease and was quick to get back to all my questions and concerns i had. My husband and I wanted to take our 19 month old daughter and mother in law on a very nice first family vacation! This is a beautiful little 2 bed room condo with spacious living room and dinning room This allowed plenty of room for my daughter to run around in! The condo was fully stocked with beach toys, chairs for the beach and plenty of towels! When we arrived Mike was so helpful with getting us to the condo from the airport and also giving us ideas of where to we would want to try new things and eat & places to see ! The condo is very clean& nicely kept, and after we were there for a day the lady who takes care of the property stopped in to introduce her self and asked if we needed anything! I think that is very nice and made us feel comfortable. Honestly you can not ask for a better location This condo is snugged in a very QUIET neighborhood YET you are literally a block from the beach if that ! There is a large play ground and park in front of the property which was perfect for our on the go toddler ! There is a pool with WATER SLIDES near the property that we enjoyed as well! We rented a car to get around but we didn't use it much because we walked to everything ( restaurants, shopping, beach, pool, pier 61,even a CVS pharmacy) ! This was our first time to clear water beach and will not be our last! We plan on staying here again because this was the perfect family vacation we were looking for !

We really liked the apartment. We stayed with our daughters for a week. Everything was clean and neat, very cozy. Very good location, close to everything. Perhaps the only thing to say is that the TV is rather old, but in Clearwater not have much time to watch TV

We found the condo nice and clean. The beds were comfortable and we were only a short walk accross a park to the beach. Also, there were restaurants with entertainment within walking distance. We were just far enough away from the high traffic area near the roundabout too. The condo was just as the photos show. It's not brand new, but well maintained. There were beach "supplies" (chairs, fishing poles, etc.) on the back porch if you want and kitchen had everything you would need for cooking. We had a great time even though it was through Hurricane Sandy.

Owner response: Mark, Thanks for staying with us. I am glad that you found "Beachy Keen condo" comfortable, clean and convenient to beach, shopping and restaurants. We hope to hear from you again soon! MIke

What a beautiful rental! Very clean and has everything you need in it. Great location! The beach is really a block away and everything you need is within walking distance. You have to go the Frenchy's and they the Grouper sandwich buffalo style! We have 2 girls 11-1/2 and 5-1/2 and they had the best time of their lives here and we will be back hopefully very soon. Mike was a great guy to deal with and answered any questions I had. Thanks Mike!!

Owner response: Hi Marnie, I Knew that you would like that Buffalo Grouper!! I'm glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay. I hope to hear from you soon! Sincerely, Mike

What a great condo! We had a long day of travel (almost 24 hours) and it was so nice to walk into a nice clean place with no surprises. The condo looks just like the pictures. I appreciated there being paper towels, hand soap, toilet paper, etc. The two beds have wonderful comfortable mattresses. The location is ideal and very quiet. My kids loved the playground across the street. Working with Mike was great. I always have lots of questions and he patiently answered them all in a very timely fashion. We also had some odd circumstances with our trip and Mike was the only one willing to work with me. The beach across the street is beautiful. We appreciated the umbrellas, sand mats, sand toys and beach chairs at the condo. We didn't need anything but our bathing suits. We spent a lovely afternoon at Caladesi State Park. My kids thought it was great that we had to take a ferry to reach the park. Great picnic shelters, big bathrooms with showers and a fabulous beach. You can rent an umbrella with two chairs for $25. Fantastic shell hunting. We at at Casa Tina in Dunedin on the way back - delicious Shrimp and Mango quesadillas and tasty margaritas. One of the best features? No keys! In fact, I got so used to it I locked myself out of our apartment twice the first week we returned home.

Owner response: Hi Barbara, I was happy to answer your questions. I did not know about Casa Tina but I'm glad that you got to visit Caladesi Island. Thanks for the review Sincerely, MIke

This was our first time to Clearwater Beach for a much needed 10 day vacation. This condo was perfect. It is within walking distance of everything Clearwater Beach has to offer but located in a quiet residential area that was nice to go back to. The only time we got in the car was to head over to Bright House Field to watch the Phillies. Only a block to the beach, which was fantastic. Our favorite little restaurant was Clearwater Wine Co. Great food and great staff. The owner of the condo, Michael, could not have been nicer to deal with. It was just the perfect getaway.

We traveled to Florida to move our friend home that had been working at one of the Disney parks. We spent four long days riding rides and standing in line at all the parks. I knew that by the end of our 4 days we would want to relax at the beach. I have spent time in Clear Water Beach before, and knew that for our group it would be perfect. Plus the drive from Orlando isn't that long! We had 5 people total. We are all 23-24 years old. We wanted to be near the action but still have space from all the crazy summer breakers. The cost of renting two hotel rooms plus having to eat out every meal wasn't appealing to us.There are not many places on the island that can hold 5 or more people and be available for 3 or more nights. Beachy Keen is one of the very few. It was perfect for our group! Everything felt clean and homey. The kitchen had all the essentials for cooking. 2 bedrooms with good size beds and plenty of closet space. The bathroom was much lager than expected. The table which holds six people was great not only for dinners, but for card games and yhatzee! They suppy plenty of beach toys and chairs if needed. The girls loved the mirrored wall, it allowed plenty of space for getting dressed up to go out at night. As far as location goes, you can't beat it! It was literally 2 minutes away from the beach. If you don't want to walk, there is a public parking lot near the beach access. We walked everywhere! Pier 60 is less than a mile away. The beach shops are less than a 10 minute walk away and there are plenty of restaurants and night life within walking distance( 5-10minutes). There is a park across the street that is great for kids as well a water park a few blocks away. Mike was very helpful with any requests that we had. You can really tell by talking with him, that he wants everyone that stays there to enjoy their stay. We had a great time and have all agreed that when we return, we will definitely be booking our stay at Beachy Keen.

Owner response: Hi Lauren, Thanks for the review. When we purchased "Beachy Keen" we wanted a nice, roomy, and comfortable place that was convenient to beach, shopping and entertainment. It also had to be inexpensive for renters. I'm glad you saw it that way too! Sincerely, Mike

We had a great time in Clearwater Beach, thanks to Mike, the owner. He switched his own condo with another on Mandalay Bay, thinking that the second place would fit our needs better, and he was right. The property worked out very well for us; it came with a pool while the other did not; the patio space and internet service was nice; it was well equipped and maintained. We appreciate Mike taking a personal interest in our family; we especially appreciate him having the rental manager stop by and check on us. His recommendations for things to do and places to eat were spot on. The beach was very clean, safe and fun. We had a fantastic vacation and thankful for the attentive service Mike provided. We hope to be back some time. Mike, Paula, and Family

This was our first time staying in Clearwater and my family and I had a great time. The description of the condo is very accurate, clean, conviently located and just a good place for our family. The owner is wonderful and very helpful. The one down fall is it does have only one bathroom (as clearly stated in the description) but with 2 teenagers we needed another bathroom. Great thing to know is the owner is planning toupdate the condo to include a 2nd bathroom. We will definitely be returning again...Hopefully sooner than later:) The sunsets at pier 60 were breathtaking!! I would recommend this condo to anyone that wants to have an enjoyable stay in Clearwater.

The location of this condo is great ! The beach is spectacular especially the sunsets. You can walk to everything you would need for a week's vacation and even take the Jolly Trolley to the Publix. The trolley driver's were very friendly and helpful. Our condo was perfect for 4 and we had everything we needed. Our contact (Michael) phoned us the night we arrived to see if everything was ok. One of our favourite restaurants for breakfast was Clear Skies and we enjoyed the seafood at Crabby Bill's. This was a very enjoyable vacation with a perfect location !!!!

This was our Christmas vacation for 2009. My wife 14yr old and 9yr old daughters as well as myself were not impressed at all. The owner was accomodating when our flight was delayed a day and friendly on phone. The unit is on the 1st floor and in the middle. It has a mildew smell to it and no way to get a cross breeze. The bedroom closets to the bathroom has issues. The linens need replacement (all). The mattress cover is all torn as is the bedskirt and the fitted sheet doesn't stay on. The right sliding glass door panel in this room doesn't lock. We wore our socks and slippers all 10 days of our stay as after the 1st day our feet were black. The large burner on the stove is on an angle, little hard to cook. The toaster need to be replaced. The items that were in the dishwsher when we arived were dirty. The maid was leaving as we arrived. Cooking utensils need replacing. The water pressure is horrible and the hot water never gets very hot. I never felt safe at night with the type of lock on the door nor did i feel my items were safe when we were not there. Not enough towels/face cloths. Both mattresses need to be replaced. I suggest on room have a king bed and the other 2 twins. We did not use the coffee pot but did move it and there was dried coffee under it on the counter. It wiped right off. We heard the high heels of the woman upstairs and the young boy had a ball of opening and shutting the sliding glass door. I can say it is a short walk to the beach and peir 60. The community pool not open during our stay (9yr old unhappy with that). I believe the entire propety needs a complete updating. The tub looks great. A washer and dryer on site would be a plus. Did not try any of the suggested popular resturants as most night we were not in town. I will visit the area again but not the property.

Owner response: I was quite surprised and at the same time disapointed to read this renters review as my ultimate goal is to have all of my guests enjoy their time at Clearwater Beach and our Condo. My family stayed at our Condo the week following the unhappy tenant and found none of the issues that the tenant mentioned. We have our Cleaning Service re check our Condo before each stay. We do have Laundry facilities on the premises. The mattresses are only 4 years old. I will check the mattress cover and skirt and replace if needed There are always 6-8 bath towels. There are new pots and Pans in the cabinet as well as plenty of utensils. Our location is in a quiet area and quite safe. In the four years that we have rented to guests no one has ever mentioned the issues that this renter has brought up. In fact all of our past reviews have been favorable. I always make it a point to tell all of our guests to let me know if they find something that is unsatisfactory about their stay and I would try and correct the problem. We have maintanence people and cleaning people available 24 hours per day. Unless I receive a phone call (and I did not in this case) I can not help.

Beachy Keen is in a GREAT location. A very short walk across the park/play ground area to a beautiful stretch of Clear Water Beach. Watch the sunset from the beach or toast the "that painting cannot be real-like beauty" from Frenchy's or the Pavillion The 2 beach front restaurants have good/reasonable pub food. Peel and Eat shrimp at Frenchy's is ++++-the Big Grouper sandwich at the Pavillion is more than enough for two!! For a "special night" the Beachcomber is excellent and an easy walk The Hess Convenient Store is well-stocked and has Boar's Head cold cuts $s less than Publix. Unless plans include wide-spread touring there is no need for a car. The Jolly Trolly is always about. We had glorious weather(bring beach towels)--inside time was not an issue. The condo is basic but comfortable--TV is fine and the large table great for eating, card-playing/games. The owner is very nice and available via phone. Other than a few minor things: very little TP--2 beach chairs(4 advertised) -- the small porch has a nice table and charis -too small to sit there-- only 1 trash bag. However we all felt (5) any amenities that are lacking are secondary to it's location and if Mother Nature cooperates the beach will be all that matters and that gets a 20 out of 10!!! We had such a good time--Satisfied Sisters!!

My family of 4 stayed here for 8 days at the end of June and beginning of July. The condo was very comfortable all around. Eerything was cleaned and nicely placed. It had eveyrhitng we needed. It was great to have a washer and dryer and use it whenever we needed it without any cost. The condo is near the beach crossing only one street. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the Peir where there are nightly events and a craft market. We found some great restaurants nearby as well as within a short drive. We would return here for future vacations with no second thoughts.

We had just had two weeks staying in Clermont nr Orlando before driving over to Clearwater. Our stay here was to be an antedote to the madness (but great fun !) of the "parks". Beachy Keen fitted the bill ! The condo has easy access, being on the ground floor with parking only 10 paces from the door. It's neat and tidy, the lounge is spacious with room to ... lounge, and the air con' is really good. The kitchen, bathroom and the bedrooms are fine. There was five of us staying, the only downside was the fold out sofa. Our teenage son slept on the sofa as a sofa, because the fold out bed wasn't comfortable. The beach is just across the road, and is ... WOW ! For eats/drinks we recommend breakfasts at "Cear Sky" to start your day (just along Mandalay), the Thai restaurant "Bualuang" for delicious relaxing dinners (right opposite the condo) and "The Palm Pavilion" for lunches and ... anytime really (wonderful sunsets). There's also a "Publix" close by that we used for the coffee, milk, bread etc. run. If you don't want to drive, there's the "Jolly Trolleys" ! We met Charlie, the driver of "Jolly Trolley" No. 4. If you want to know what's what and where to find it, "Jolly Trolley" driver Charlie is your man ... and he'll take you to "the best Hot dogs in Clearwater". We sunbathed, swam, jet skied, hung out at Pier 60 and ... chilled. We had a short stay ... and a fantastic time, and so will you. Last but not least, we'd like to thank Mike, our contact. The communication and information he provided was faultless. Thanks again Mike. We'll be back, and will recommend to others. : )

Beachy Keen was exactly what we wanted out of a Clearwater Beach rental. The beach is literally a block away and we did not have to rent a car to get around. Everything is accessible by foot or trolley. As a group of 2 couples, it was difficult to find a condo rental with two large beds and Beachy Keen was one of the few locations that fit the bill. The rooms are spacious and clean, the kitchen has all you need for breakfast cooking, and the "porch" is great for a relaxing nap. Be sure to check out the bars in the area and sign up for any tours at the marina! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone else interested!

When we decided to take a relaxing vacation to get away from the stress of work, traffic, shuttling to various events for our kids, we zeroed in on Clearwater Beach. Our search for accomodations focused on a place possessing the following attributes: close to the beach, not part of a massive motel or condo complex, quiet at night, within short walking distance of restaurants and shopping while also allowing for easy travel to Tampa area attractions. We hit the bullseye when we found Beachy Keen. The beach is about a 4 - 5 minute walk from the front door of the condo. This allows you to go back and forth easily for forgotten items, lunch breaks or whatever. The beach is beautiful and the waves on the Gulf are very relaxing. Visitors to the beach can enjoy themselves in a variety of ways including sun bathing, boogey boarding, body surfing, searching for shells, building sand castles, parasailing or any number of activities which the setting allows for. Dining in Clearwater Beach is great with many diverse settings and meal choices although sea food is featured. We were able to walk to all the restaurants we ate at - be they on the beach or in the cool dining, shopping and entertainment areas along Mandalay. My wife and I decided that we would eat breakfasts and lunches at the condo and the grocery store on the island, Publix, was a five minute drive away and had everything we needed. When we left the beach to go to Busch Gardens and the Florida Aquarium, the drives were quick and easy. And while we had a great time visiting the parks, we did not have to drive our car for four days during our stay. Our goal of getting away for a relaxing vacation on the Gulf was attained and staying at Beachy Keen was the ideal location for us to meet our objectives. I also can't thank the owners enough for all of their help and information. They made the whole propery rental experience very easy.

6 of us girls enjoyed a totally relaxing week at Beachy Keen in March. We had great weather (only one day of rain) and loved being in Clearwater! The condo is perfectly located - very close to the beach and walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. Didn't have a car, but took the Jolly Trolly to Publix for groceries and walked everywhere else! Clearwater had just the right amount of nightlife for us! The bars/restaurants weren't crazy at night but we were able to go out and have a good time. The condo is well suited for 4 adults (two queen beds) but 6 adults was a bit rough because the fold-out couch was very uncomfortable! Additionally, there wasn't internet at the condo (although the listing said there was), but we were able to get free wireless from the Clearwater Library which is a two minute walk! The rec center pool also provides a nice break from the beach. Other sites we enjoyed were Pier 60, Clearwater Aquarium, Crabby Billy's, and Frenchy's!

When my family and I decided to take a vacation, the beautiful waters of the Gulf were definately an alluring point, and we knew we had to find a place in Clear Water. We searched around and chose to rent this condo -what a great decision that was! The location of the condo is phenominal. Not only is it located in a clean, quiet building with close parking, but it is within walking distance from all kinds of attractions anyone would want to visit while on a vacation. For example; accross the street from this convenient resort i found the park wonderful for having a catch or going for a run and it's equipped with a beautiful and CLEAN playground that was perfect for the kids. Just one block away from there, I was faced with even more options besides the charming Clear Water beach, such as grabing a bite to eat from the appearantly famous, Palm Pavilion, known for its world class sunset view and, of course, Florida native; Frenchy's) spending the day at the pool or tennis courts, or doing some shopping. Just at the end of the shopping strip I met up with the exciting Peir 60 which provided entertainment every night. Honestly, my husband and I hardly had to use our rental car for the any part of the vacation. However, two famous amusement parks are only a short drive away with Busch Gardens being at most 30mins and Disney a little over an hour. (If that's what you're into.) Location aside, the condo itself was truely an enjoyable place to stay. It's clever name, "Beachy Keen" speaks for itself as I'm sure anyone who stays there will enjoy it. It comfortably sleeps six people with it's pull-out couch and is decorated with style. It's beachy adornments and charismatic plants added to the feeling of relaxation and are sure to put any group at ease, as it did my family. Plus, it's kept very clean and updated. The kitchen is a perfect size and items such as pots, pans, plates, ect. are all provided for you. The bedrooms both have cable T.V. and sliding doors leading to a cosy lanai. I liked to wake up in the morning, make some coffee and sit out there listening to music while enjoying the one-of-a-kind Florida weather. So whether your idea of a vacation means going out every night, shopping and sight-seeing, or just relaxing inside, I would definately reccomend Beachy Keen to virtually anyone looking for the perfect vacation.
