A wonderful vacation awaits you at "The Pinecone," our bright and spacious 1200 sq ft condo in the San Juan National Forest. Put your feet up and relax on the comfy lodge-style furnishings. All beds have memory foam toppers and premium comforters. Our unit has extra south facing windows for lots of light, and we do not have any highway noise like some units. The private deck is surrounded by pine trees with peek-a-boo views of the mountains and a small pond.
Downstairs you will find a private queen bedroom with an attached bathroom, the living room, dining area, full kitchen and deck. Upstairs is a large loft with two queen beds, a bathroom, extra vanity area and walk-in closet with full size washer/dryer. The loft closes off with sound insulated folding doors for privacy at night. TV/DVD on each level, I-Pod docking station stereo and air mattresses for kids or extra guests. We also have toys, games, a nice DVD library, pack 'n play crib for babies, booster seat and step stools for the little ones.
An indoor/outdoor pool, jacuzzi, fitness center and sauna is free but spa services can be accessed in the main lodge for a daily fee, which is a short walk from our unit.
Catch the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Train just 1/4 mile away at the Rockwood Station, and Trimble Hot Springs is just 10 minutes towards town. There are so many things to do in the Durango area! Tube or raft the Animas River, hiking, biking, horseback riding, Jeep adventures, art galleries and many fabulous restaurants. Kids will love the huge pool at Tamarron and the indoor splash/water park at the town recreaction center. Just pack your toothbrush and come have fun!
*Tamarron is surrounded by the private Glacier Club golf course but we are not members.
There is a beautiful public course 10 minutes away at Dalton Ranch rated 4 stars by Golf Digest.
Hillcrest muni golf course is 15 mins away.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We chose Tamarron for several reasons. It is right at the snow line so we get great snow, but not too cold like the ski area and further north. It is also close enough that popping into town is easy. The pool and spa are great, and the scenery is so beautiful.

Your condo was perfect!!!! We had a great time and look forward to coming back some day. My three year old had a blast with the toys, games, books and movies.The location is so beautiful and the stay was very relaxing. We had so much fun in Durango and the area!!!! The washer and dryer were so nice to have, and your condo was stocked with all the amenities to feel like a home away from home. We loved it so much and thank you for sharing it with us. We are really missing the beautiful Durango weather right now.

Just returned from a week in your condo! Wow, what an enjoyable vacation! My wife and I along with our son, his wife and our 3 yr old grandson were delighted with the layout, the comfort, the amenities, and the location of this beautiful property! Every board game, age appropriate toys, bath robes, towels, washer and dryer, the deck and the view...all were just perfect. This is no motel room! This is a home, well equipped and stocked for a happy family vacation. I bought a hummingbird feeder and suspended it with fishing line from an existing screwhole in the facia of the deck, and had the best time with my Canon Rebel and those beautiful birds. By the time we left we were actually petting them! The old "camp robber" blue jay was delightful as well as the red-headed woodpecker who decided he could also drink from that hummingbird feeder! Delightful vacation and one that we would happily "do over"! Thanks!

From the moment we arrived at our beautiful condo we felt at home. The owners have done everything to ensure a home away from home - from the many board games and toys for children, to the thoughtful touches such as the bath robes which were such a treat and a plethora of amenities and resources in between! The condo is located in a stunning location betwixt the mountains and we had all the entertainment we needed in close proximity of the condo, not to mention just enjoying the deck and viewing the wildlife. We hardly viewed the tv although several were provided! :) We had a splendid time in Durango which was certainly made even more memorable staying in this fabulous condo. We definitely hope to return one day!!

(This guest stayed over Thanksgiving week 2008) We returned last night from enjoying your amazing condo - thank you so much for making it available for us. We created wonderful memories there that I know none of us will ever forget! Your place is just beautiful, and the area was breath taking. We were surprised and excited for a snow covered Thanksgiving! Our kids - 25, 22, and 21 - went out and built a great snowman! Our grandson, Jackson, enjoyed playing in the foyer area - the bench there was just his size! We took family pictures in Durango for our Christmas card, and we snowboarded at Wolf Creek on Saturday. I do believe we packed two weeks worth of activities into 4 days! We would love to make our trip to Durango an annual event, and would be thrilled if we were able to rent your condo again.
