A TRUE VACATION GETAWAY!

What a wonderful home to get away from it all ! Rented it for a long weekend with friends and our kids (ranging from 6months to 7yrs). Everyone had a great time. Pictures don't do it justice, this house is equipped with fine furnishings, kitchen is stocked better than mine at home! The owners have thought of everything that you may need and it's shows that it's not just a vacation rental but a second home to them. kids had a great time playing in the snow behind the house, no need to worry about cars. Very nice neighborhood with very few homes, no houses around you. Even though there were 6 adults and 5 kids, house never felt cramped. Plenty of space for everyone! We cooked dinner every night but if you want to go out, downtown Truckee, with some great spots for food and drinks, is less than 5min away.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Great Tahoe Vacation Home

This vacation home is great for families. The location is quiet and secluded, yet close to all the things downtown Truckee has to offer. The living area is spacious, accommodating 8 -10 persons without feeling crowded. The home comes with all the major kitchen appliances and kitchenware necessary to cook for and feed a group of 10. The house is kept extremely clean and tidy. The backyard is great for young children. There is plenty of room for snow tunnels, snow angels, snowmen, and a trail along the side of the house that can be turned into a great snow tube/sled run. The simple fact that you have a great play area with sledding right outside your door means no packing up the kids in a vehicle to go out in the snow. We routinely wake up, head outside play all morning, come in for lunch and are back outside after naps for another round in the snow! Because of the tri-level, you can put the kids to bed on a different level and spend a great evening socializing without waking the little ones. You are also a short hop away from all the North Lake ski resorts, making it ideal for hitting different resorts on different days. My only recommendation is to bring up extra trash bags. While there are trash cans provided, there have been instances where it was necessary to bag our trash as the cans got full. We have been renting this home for years and the owners are great people that provide a great living space and outdoor play land which never disappoints.
Owner response:Since becoming new Owners in March of this year, we have installed a bear bin at the bottom of the driveway - should alleviate some of the garbage issues hopefully!!

Came up with a group of friends and we had a great time. The house was in a great location, nice cul de sac, neighborhood was quite and was really close to skiing. Would definately look to renting this cabin again.

We fell in love with this beautiful home so much that we had our wedding there during the month of October! We loved the fact that it backed up to forest service property and we even had our ceremony outside in the woods surrounding the home. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting for our special day! The weather was varied and beautiful our entire visit and the home was spacious and accommodating for all of our family during the festivities. The owners were sincere, kind and helpful and even gave us a gift of champagne for our special day. We'd love to spend an anniversary here again someday soon!

We really enjoyed our stay at the house. Nice place, very comfortable and well maintained. We had some trouble regulating the temperature - too cold in basement while too hot on third floor, but otherwise, a great stay!
Owner response:Note: This temperature issue is common in the mountains during winter for a tri-level home since there is a single thermostat located on main floor. There are several portable floor heaters throughout the home so you can maintain your heating requirements downstairs and not overheat the upstairs! If you keep the wood stove burning, you will only need a portable heater for downstairs, as the fire keeps the main floor and upstairs quite warm.

The home was perfect for kids with lots of room to play right out the front door. We really enjoyed the house and it was like a home away from home with everything you would need.
