A MOUNTAIN PARADISE!! SKI-IN SKI OUT!!!!! And Sale Prices!
We've Slashed our Prices for 2011-2012!
This is where my family and I have spent the last twenty-plus years enjoying every vacation day we could squeeze out of otherwise busy schedules, where six children learned to become expert skiers, and where my wife and I have skied, telemarked, and boarded in the most heavenly ski conditions in the world. The master bedroom has a king size bed that can separate into two twins. The second bedroom has an extremely comfortable bunk bed, and its own picture window overlooking the pool and mountain. The living room has two convertible couches, each of which opens into an extremely comfortable twin bed facing the fireplace which makes every evening beautifully rustic. The condo has its own complete gym, a gorgeous outdoor pool, and the largest hot tub in the entire Whistler municipality.
Located directly on Blackcomb mountain, the only thing between you and fantastic skiing every morning is getting out of bed. We are on the third floor, so two flights directly below is the ski locker, and once you're suited up and ready to go, you open the door and the mountain is before you. Similarly, at the end of the day, the only thing between your aching thighs and the village's largest hot tub is to remember to turn back into the condo and lock up your skis.
This property is perfect for a family vacation or a truly serious ski experience. The ski school accepts children from age three (they've taken all of mine from two and a half, but that's because this is the perfect mountain to teach two year olds to ski, and we did that with all of them), but has day care for the tiny ones too. The adult ski school runs the gamut from beginners to cornice-jumpers and Olympic bumpers. We think it is the most professional yet congenial ski school in North America. There is something for everyone in Whistler, and this condo is our idea of the perfect base from which to do it all.

Value unit in Great Building

This review comes from someone on a guys weekend ski trip. We did not have the terrible experience posted by the last reviewer. I will agree that the furnishings, specifically the couches, are old and don't meet the expectation we had for this building. However, we didn't experience any of the other issues. There were plenty of towels, pillows, blankets, etc. The televisions are all small and old but we weren't there to watch television so it didn't bother us. There were no stains on the wall and no dirty sponges. The building has a large hot tub that holds a lot of people. That makes for great socializing at the end of the day. There is also a full size pool. This is absolutely ski in and ski out. You can walk to the main village in about 10 minutes (which we always did) or take a bus. All the people working in the building were nice and accomodating. We didn't have a single bad experience. I would rent this unit, or in this building, again if we return to Whistler. Would probably rate this 3.5 stars if that was an option.

Old, worn-out appliances, stained carpet from the 1970s, excessive fees...

The only positive things about this place is it's nice location on the ski hill and the large size of the unit. Everything else was pretty cheap and run down for a vacation rental in this price range. 1. The interior looks circa 1978 and seems to have not been updated since then. Burning smell from the old baseboard heaters every time you turn them on. 2. The couches and carpets were stained and the walls were dirty with odd stains of some splashed fluid dried onto them. 3. The sheets supplied were not fitted! Who doesn't use fitted sheets in the year 2012? Just getting in bed would pull the sheets out place and result in a wad of bedding and the exposed mattress on your skin... 4. There were supplied towels, but NO WASHCLOTHS! How hard is it to supply a washcloth? 5. The kitchen sponges were filthy with some sort of black-brown residue and there was no dishwasher detergent. 6. The wireless internet is terribly unstable and requires you to re-log back into it about once an hour, making it rather difficult to use. 7. The hot tub is not very hot at all. 8. The TV is a small, old, CRT. 9. The range and oven are falling apart and all of the burners are crooked, making cooking quite an ordeal. 10. Overall, the unit was nowhere worth what I paid for it, especially after the $170 in fees were added in. I paid a lot less last year at a nearby ski-in ski-out for a much nicer room. 11. The access cards would get demagnetized frequently, which makes coming back in from outside a rather cold and annoying task. Clearly this place always chooses the cheapest options. Caveat Emptor. We will not be back.
Owner response:We have had several hundred guests now over the years, and this is the first and only complaint we have ever had. Most of the problems here, for a two day stay that was specially arranged, and that we normally don’t accept, have to do with an apparent failure of the cleaning crew to do their normally spotless job. We always send an information sheet (more like a 30 page booklet we have composed over the years) as soon as the unit is booked. There are contact numbers to call for any and all contingencies. There are cleaning crews in the halls constantly attending to the units, seven days a week, and had this guest called the desk, they would have sent the cleaners immediately to the unit to render it spic-and-span. There are always a surplus of washcloths, bedsheets, clean (and brand-new) sponges, cleaning pads, and detergents, replaced for every stay. They surgically clean the floors, walls, carpets, and equipment. They tell me they received no complaints for this guest’s entire two-day stay, and that includes internet, hot tub temperatures, and key cards that generally do not get “demagnetized” during a two-day stay. But they would happily replace key cards if asked. The internet connection can get crowded during peak periods. We have installed a repeater in our unit to avoid that in the future. It makes connection immediate and easy.

Thanks for the opportunity to stay at your great condo. It was very comfortable and well appointed. The location was amazing! Seconds to the slope - PERFECT! It was fun to watch the other skiers cruise by when we relaxing after a long day of skiing. Of course it was also great to enjoy a nice soak in the hot tub after skiing! I would recommend this complex and unit to anyone looking for a nice place in a great location.
