My boyfriend and I had an amazing time on this vacation. We used Marie's cottage as a home base from which to explore the island. We were there for a week and every morning enjoyed a great breakfast at the house, made a picnic lunch, and then headed out for the day. The cottage was a great place to return to after a day of hiking, lying on the beach or poking around small towns. Marie provided us with beach towels, mats, a cooler and even boogie boards! We purchased some very inexpensive snorkels and masks that worked great and left those there, so the place is pretty much set up for any activity you might want to partake in! The weather was cool and windy in the late afternoon/evening which was actually a nice respite from the heat of the beaches. There is some road noise from Kohala Mountain Rd., but not too bad. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found Marie to be very pleasant and accommodating. The cottage was very centrally located for all of our explorations and adventures!!

We spent almost 3 weeks at this place, wishing it would last longer. The place itself has its own atmosphere, is very clean and cosy, with a sensitive touch of the owner. Fresh air around with a view of green hills and Mauna Kea cheers you after a hot day spent at one of the best beaches on the Earth. Our little daughter especially enjoyed the garden, where she was discovering the nature of Hawaii. After some traveling on the island (btw: car is necessary here), we were really glad to choose this village and this house. It is worth flyling 24 hours to come back here again, because of this special place in the world. THANK YOU, MARIE.
Owner response:Thank You E', K', and little T' Your comment encompasses all, I wish to offer to my Guests. Our doors are open for your return. May our Aloha be with you all the while, and "Until then!" Marie I am also glad, that you enjoyed the clean, fresh air of Waimea, and the quaint romance this Village has. (3 sassy cycling outfits next time? :) (P.S: - don't forget your sassy cycling outfits ;)

Thank you for such a nice, clean, comfortable and quiet place to stay. I was in Waimea for work and it was very nice to come back to a "home away from home" where I could kick back and relax. It is nice to have a fully functioning kitchen to make your own food as eating our gets "old" and expensive. I would hightly recommend this cottage for vacation or work. C. Wilder, MD
Owner response: Seeing some of our features so nicely 'bundled', - is as a gift to me. - Your comment is taken with gratitude. Happy returns! Marie

This cottage was very clean and comfortable, and all the more enjoyable thanks to the kind hospitality of Marie. It is only a short drive down to all the wonderful beaches--and Marie kindly supplied us with beach mats and chairs, boggie boards, towels, and cooler. We only wish that we had more time to spend here-- Mahalo, Marie
Owner response:Thank you Betsy and Phil for your compliment... It is rewarding to me, to see You - my Guests, - feel comfortable and "At Home" away from home. May our warmest Alohas stay with you for a long time! Marie

09/22-10/1/2008 This was the perfect place for us to stay on the island. We really loved the big yard where our three year old could run and play. We admired the amazing night skies full of stars every evening. The location was just spot on. We could easily get to the best beaches, Waipio valley and to the volcano park. Thank you Marie for all the good care and for the pineapple too :-) Mahalo and Aloha Daniel, Zdenka and Lukas

March 12-15, 2008. Just three glorious aloha days, and I wholeheartedly recommend this charming cottage. It is kept immaculately clean and comfortable, with fully equipped kitchen and all else that a great B&B offers. Located centrally in a most beautiful green and sunny area of Big island. The nearby beaches are white sand and protected for great swimming/snorkeling and glorious Kona side(West)sunsets.

We stayed here for the entire month of February in 2008. This a wonderful quiet clean little place with great convenience. You are 15 minutes from the two best beaches on the island (Hapuna and Mauna Kea)! Waimea is a friendly small town with all services. You are close to the Kohala coast for excellent whale watching and snorkeling. Being centrally located on the north part of the island you are close to great golf courses (Mauna Kea, Hapuna Prince, Hualali, Big Island CC, Mauna Lani and Waikoloa Resort). As well you have wonderful dining in the resorts and in Waimea or Kawaihae. THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST DEAL for long term accomodation.

Marie, We could not have found a better place to stay--best climate on the island, beautiful Kohala Mountain, near the best beaches, central location to tour the island. Comfortable accommodations and most congenial hospitality. We took pot luck in coming here, but struck gold. Mahalo

These two weeks at Waiaka View have been most enjoyable and we couldn't have asked for more. The accommodations were just right for us and staying in Waimea has given us a taste of real Hawaii. The pleasant weather and cool temperatures are a nice contrast to the beaches. Thanks for your hospitality and willingness to work with us on these dates. We will remember you fondly and wish you the best for the years to come. Peace & Mahalo, David & Kathy Helseth
