  Kulakane is a wonderful place to stay in the Kalapali beach area of Maui. It is an older, but very well maintained complex of about 50 units. It has a nice pool with plenty of lounge chairs, easy access to the water for snorkelling, free parking, BBQs and a laundry room. Peter and Lanell have done everything to make us feel welcome. Everything you need has been provided including beach chairs, water toys, and ice chests to name a few. The kitchen has most things you will need should you decide to cook on your vacation. Love this place, we plan on returning. Tip: stock up on food at Costco near the airport to save yourself some money, then fill up the rental car there as gas is 40 cents cheaper than anyplace else.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  . This is a great condo! The owners have updated and decorated in a very appealing decor. It was well supplied with all the necessities and it met our every need. The view is awesome and the whales and turtles are so much fun to watch from the lanai. We will definitely be back for another stay!!!

  Everything about our experience was just wonderful. The owner is lovely and very quick to respond. The condo was very clean, nicely furnished, and had EVERYTHING you could ever think of needing. From the vitamix and the beach accessories down to small essentials like scissors and reading material, it was just over the top. So much better than staying in a high priced resort. The ocean was right outside our door, the lanai was spacious and private. Conches were provided and conch blowing in the evening was a treat. My young daughter was especially happy to sample all games available to us. Thank you so much for making your condo available to us and for putting so much thought into everything. We would love to return one day!

  This condo was the perfect spot to stay. The view was fantastic, the condo was clean and very well equipped. The pictures are very accurate. The condo is near the road but the wall and foliage keep it very private. The owner is fantastic and answered every inquiry immediately. The nearby farmers market is a lovely walk and there are several shops within walking distance as well. If you have a car, Lahaina is minutes away. I highly recommend it!

  This condo is perfect with regards to location, amenities, and especially the owners. Lanell is a pleasure to work with. The condo is furnished with pretty much what you would need to have a great time- snorkels, boogie boards, chairs, even binoculars to look out into the ocean. You also don't need to go far to see sea turtles. They come right in front of the condo to feed! It's so close to a lot of great beaches. We also love the Fish Market that's less than a mile away. My 7 year old never wanted to leave!

  Our second stay here was even better than the first! We knew our way around and explored deeper into this wonderful neighborhood. The condo is perfect and it looks just like the pictures. Furnishings are pretty and comfortable, a great combination, and we felt right at home. Parking is just steps from the doorway. Sunsets are also as advertised! Lots of restaurants in this neighborhood, including a coffee shop and farmers market. There's an awesome walkway that starts about a block from the condo, and goes for miles along the ocean. The setting here is so relaxing. It's not a big resort with giant parrots in the lobby. It's a place to relax, renew, and take time to breathe. The condo has everything you need, so you can spend stressless days listening to the ocean, relaxing by the pool, or playing in the water. Turtles and whales splash and play in the ocean, right in front of the condo. Nights are always warm enough to sit outside and stargaze. Since the lanai is right on the ocean, the night views are just as spectacular as the daytime views. The tradewinds keep the condo pleasantly comfortable day and night. There is a rubber tree by the bedroom window that keeps the back side of the condo nice and cool. The sound of the wind rustling the leaves, and birds singing is magical. Stay here...you won't regret it!

  Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise. We feel so lucky to have chosen your place. You have provided everything a person could need and more. We really enjoyed snorkeling here, the turtles were amazing! Also at Honolua Bay. The food on the island is so fresh, we really enjoyed the market here, the papaya, pineapple, all the fresh fish, it has been fun cooking and bbq-ing here. We found several new places to explore, walk or have dinner. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you

  What a great place! Thanks so much for sharing it with us. We really think you have the best location. Everthing is right here...close and convenient. Great things about the condo: - Morning coffee on the lanai. - Sunsets on the lanai. - So close to the ocean! - Flat screens,DVD players, wi-fi is fast. - Huge closet for clothes, laundry, suitcases. - Perfect vacation kitchen. Great things about the area: - Sansei Sushi - Star Noodle - Fun Miata roads - even tho we're in a jeep - Ziplining - Ocean, ocean, ocean - Not much traffic - Lots of beautiful places to walk Oh yeah, and the turtles playing in the surf and the winery upcountry. We're already looking forwad to March! Mahalo!

  This is our third time in Maui, first time in Condo vs Hotel, we loved it! Great to walk out on our lanai and see the ocean and turtles without all of the crowd. My kids loved the boogie boards, and the coolers came in handy!

  Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. As I write this little reflection, I am hearing the waves crashing and watching the turtles floating in front of Kulakane #210. Highlights.... - Sunsets, conch shell blowing at sunset. - The amenities of your condo and the Kulakane property. We have never stayed in a place so well equipped. Dishwasher tablets, garbage bags, laundry soap, amazing. - Snorkeling here is fantastic. My husband does not like swimming in waters south of the 49th parallel, but I got him in and he is hooked... tropical fish, turtles, etc., right in front of the condo. - Daily walks all the way to the Westin. - Bad Ass Coffee... - Sad to say, we did enjoy your TV and cable... hockey tem in Stanley Cup playoffs! Thank you, thank you!

  Your condo is BEAUTIFUL, very nice, clean, modern, well equipped. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching whales breach in the distance, and turtles swim near the shore! The sunsets were beautiful and nothing beats the peaceful sound of the ocean right at your back door. The location was great as well - close to great beaches, snorkeling, restaurants, shopping and the Farmers Market. We loved it and had an awesome time. Thank you for sharing your special place with us!

  We truly enjoyed our stay here. We found that we would rather have dinner on the lanai, watching the sunset, instead of going out to eat. It was a great unit, sad to see it end. The place works great and the teenagers did not mind the pull out. We enjoyed snorkeling and boogy boarding... thanks for having them here... It was a great t, relaxing trip. Thanks!

  What an exceptional view from the lanai - we watched whales and sea turtles every morning - lots of them and lots of activity - breaches, pectoral fin slaps, etc, etc. The condo is nicely furnished with everything you need, and comfortable as well. This is one of the nicest views we have had from a condo. As always there is much to see and much to do! Mahalo to the owner

  What an amazing time we've had here in Maui! And we feel very fortunate that we were lucky enough to stay at The Kulakane. The view was amazing and we had a great time watching for whales and turtles - both of which we saw directly from the lanai. Thank you for providing us with such a lovely place to stay, with everything we could have possibly needed.   Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise with us. This is our first trip to the islands and has been truly amazing. We marvel at how well your condo is equipped. We enjoyed snorkeling at Kapalua Bay, the "Road to Hana" CD (in your unit) was a tremendous help! I loved that you had a gude to trees and shrubs of Maui! The binoculars were a wonderful surprise, too! We loved sitting on the lanai and watching for whales. Wish I could stay here on your lanai. Thank you! Mahalo!

  Thanks for an awesome stay! This was our first trip to Maui and it was a sweet retreat! There were huge turtles out front along with the amazing sunsets! This location is perfect for visiting the great beaches in West Maui! Our favorite beach was in front of The Hyatt in Kaanapali. This is truly a great place to decompress!

  We have spent close to two weeks of bills at The Kulakane. We enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets on the lanai and did our best not to miss a single conch blow at sunset (a highlight of our 3 years old’s.) The residents here made us feel like home and we are having a hard time leaving. We certainly enjoyed all the amenities that your unit had to offer and loved the use of those boogie boards. We have been blessed with magnificent weather and the turtles have been here keeping us entertained daily. The pu pu party was a lot fo fun and a great change to get to know everyone. Brett, who is an avid diver found the snorkeling right in front of the condo to be as comparable to any dive. He was also fortunate enough to swim with some spotted eagle rays that came to mate just outside the condo! The area surrounding has shown us some great fun... Dukes, Maui Brewing, Aloha Plates... but the best dining was right on our lanai! We would love the chance to re-visit The Kulakane as it has been a magical experience for our entire family and thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven. Sincerely Mahalo

  My wife and I had an enjoyable week. The snoreking in front of the Kulakane is as good as it gets! Had a couple of days of high surf, so the water was murkey but before and after the fish, turtles, and reef are amazing. We drove to Hana... Haleakala... Trade winds were fairly predictable... Thanks for the boogie boards. I had fun just south of The Kulakane in front of the Aston.

  This was the first trip to Maui for us. It has been amazing! Just like s many others have written before us, your amenities (boogie boards, chairs, etc.) were a great surprise. We thought we would have to rent or buy many things that you provided. Mahalo! We will definitely be coming back to Maui and hope to stay here again. You just can't beat the location and great "home" feeling you have here. Can't wait to come back!

  My husband and I stayed at Kulakane 210 for two weeks at the end of summer and we couldn't have been more pleased. The view from the lanai was so breathtaking that we could have happily spent most of the time right there. The pool and deck were very nice and well maintained and the beach and ocean are only steps away. The unit itself was very well taken care of and had everything you could imagine. They had a cooler which was great for day trips and a scale so we could even out our luggage weight after all the shopping we did on the island. The kitchen was very modern and it was enjoyable to prepare meals there so we could dine on the lanai while watching the sun set. The bed was comfortable as was the rest of the furnishings. The people who care for the property were wonderful to deal with and made us feel welcome and appreciated for staying there. The location is fabulous, near restaurants and groceries and it is a great middle ground between the tourist centre of Lahaina and the beautiful beaches to the north. We felt right at home here and will definitily return.

  Three weeks in Paradise is not enough - if we are "jaded", blame Peter, Mari, Lanell, etc., etc., your place is really wonderful. We have done a lot of sightseeing, beaching, swimming, and have enjoyed grilling and having a late upper on the lanai. We have traveled many different destinations and yours is the most tenant friendly place we've encountered! Many thanks!

  Ocean-front location with pool on water side makes building location top notch. The complex is quiet, very well maintained, friendly owners make it pleasurable indoors and out. All of homes necessities and extras are provided and well maintained. The kitchen is particularly well equipped. Extras include snorkel equipment, golf clubs, beach chairs, beach towels. There is free WiFi available as well as cable TV in both living and bed rooms with new Blue ray player below flat screen TV in living room. While there is no air conditioning, the street side of this unit is shaded by a large tree and the unit has jalousie windows as well as large screened slider providing wonderful flow-through ventilation. Air conditioning is not needed here. Snorkeling on the reefs, swimming with the sea turtles and watching whales breaching is amazing. This unit is routinely updated with new carpet, paint, tile, etc. There are two well maintained gas grills available near laundry for your grilling pleasure. The condo is convenient to supermarkets, neighborhood stores, delis, farmers market and a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. Love the large ocean-front lanai where we had coffee every morning while planning the days activities till we had our evening meal there and watched the sun set. To have the immediacy to the pool and ocean is something you don't find in many units on the Island. The panoramic view of ocean, Islands, ships, sailboats, outriggers, paddle boarders, swimmers, sea turtles and whales is truly amazing. With any luck, we hope to be fortunate enough to be annual renters.

  We've stayed at The Kulakane #210 several years in a row, for a month at a time. Guess you can tell we like it here. We had booked a month in 2009, but just added another month! It's our favorite place anywhere. You just can't beat it.

  It is really nice that I could take my daughter to the pool, my wife could stay on the lanaii and watch us. We could even talk to her. It was great. We had stayed on Kaanapali Beach for two weeks and added a few days to our trip, staying in this condo. We ended up wishing we had stayed at the Kulakane the whole time. The reason is because it was much more reasonable, more intimate, our car was right in front of our unit. We really loved it here!

  We have been staying at the Kulakane for the past 10 years. We have been in your condo on two prior occasions and we think it is one of the best equipped in the complex. We have contacted your rental agent and we will be staying in Unit #210 for two weeks in February. Again thank you for giving us this opportunity.
