Fabulous!

Ever want to sell all your belongings and move into a one bedroom loft on the river? You will after staying here! The loft was available for just one night this past weekend but we got a week's worth of enjoyment from it. The original hardwood floors and exposed brick of the historic building are a perfect backdrop for the comfortable contemporary furniture and upscale finishes. The steam shower is great. There is a newer building on the river just behind the loft, but when sitting in the living room or bedroom your view is of the river. The large deck with river view must be amazing during the summer months. Downtown Wabasha is quaint and charming ; we loved the pizza at Flour Mill Pizza and were thrilled with a visit to the Eagle Center, both within walking distance. Holly was very easy to work with and we hope to return in 2012 for a longer visit.

The Perfect Weekend

Guest: library guy (St. Paul, MN)

What a beautifully decorated loft! My girlfriend and I can't stress enough what a wonderful weekend we had staying in loft #2. We spent the weekend exploring the area (admiring art, the best ever piece of pie, and shopping in Stockholm; purchased a beautiful ring by a local artist for my girlfriend at BNOX Gold and Iron in Pepin; cheese and ice cream at the Nelson Creamery; tasted wine at the Danzinger winery in Alma). Not only was there so much to do and see, the drive along the river on the WI side was so beautiful. After our explorations it was so relaxing to return to our wonderfully decorated loft (great taste, Holly--love that cowboy figurine). We were able to chill our newly purchased wine in the wine fridge and cook a romantic meal in the gourmet kitchen. We brought a few CDs hoping the loft had a CD player to play a little music while we enjoyed some wine and cheese. Not only was there a player, but Holly provided a discography that amazingly resembled the music we had brought (Brandi Carlile, Ray LaMontagne). We enjoyed the sounds of the river and quiet downtown Wabasha on the deck while enjoying our chilled wine and WI cheese. There was so much to do in downtown Wabasha itself as well (eagle center, local chocolatier, breakfast in downtown cafe, and enjoying beer over looking river at Slippery's [Grumpy Old Men fame]. Everything was within walking distance from our loft. My only regret from the weekend is that we didn't stay an extra day to just enjoy the beautifully decorated and well maintained loft itself. Thanks so much, Holly. We made the right choice for our Memorial Day weekend getaway. We look forward to coming back with another couple and staying in the two bedroom loft for more adventures in bluff country.

* AMAZING *

We planned a weekend trip to Wabasha for our first time to go skiing & had an AMAZING time ! The town was so quaint & the hospitality was GREAT ! We did quite a bit in a short time. Bowling, skiing, the Creamery across the bridge, the Eagle center & few other things. The loft was INCREDIBLE !! I took so many pictures to show folks back home & the most popular comment was " the place you stayed at looked amazing " & indeed it was ! It was like a home away from home ! Neatly decorated & just a cozy atmosphere ! Holly is AMAZING & easy to do business with. I believe she really cares about your stay & travel accomodations. Thanks Holly. We were so impressed with EVERYTHING we plan on coming back this summer ~~

A Fantastic Experience

Guest: Gary (Carlisle, Iowa)
Date of Stay: 01/14/11 Review Submitted: 01/18/11

This was our 5th time using VRBO and this might have been the best yet. The loft that we stayed in had just been recently remodeled and everything was beyond our expectation. The comfort level was off the chart. This was a winter visit and the gas fireplace made the stay so much nicer. The kitchen was complete, the bed was comfortable and the steam shower was off the chart. The only caution is that we were in loft 3 and there were a lot of stairs to climb to get to the loft. Other than that this was a great experience. Holly was very good to do business with and we plan to return in the spring.

Fabulous Loft on the Mississippi

Guest: Minnesota & Montana Sisters (Kalispell, MT)
Date of Stay: 10/01/10 Review Submitted: 10/27/10

It was our first "sister trip" ever,and no better place for it than at your loft in Wabasha. It was so lovely and comfortable – clean and stylishly decorated (check out the mermaid) with a wonderful view of the mighty Mississippi, barges included. In the quaint town of Wabasha we sampled much of the local flavor, it was a kind of Oktoberfest and everything was decorated. One location for the movie, "Grumpy Old Men" made Slippery’s (fish bar & restaurant) a one of a kind experience, while the Triangle Pub (across the street) served a delicious lunch. The National Eagle Center entertained us for much of an afternoon. An educational presentation on some great birds. We headed to Red Wing on Saturday – Farmer’s Market, St. James Hotel, Red Wing Boots and Red Wing Pottery Museum – all kept us going. Later, a historical walk about back in Wabasha offered up some interesting architecture, and led to a unexpected stop at a friendly coffee shop. But, to return at night to our cozy loft was a great reward. We are spreading the word about what a treasure you have.
