Paris Arrondissement 3 apartment description

Just off Place Des Vosges, this apartment sits in the best area of the most sought-after neighborhood in Paris.

The 750 sq ft. apartment is up three flights of stairs --there is also an elevator. It is located accross two courtyards, with cross exposure, meaning it is very well lit, and offers absolute silence. The cross exposure also makes it easy to create a nice breeze in the summer.

There are two independent bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, the other two single beds, all high quality. Windows in both bedrooms face the south, so it's very sunny throughout the day. They open on a beautiful garden down below.

The living room has two windows also. It features a confortable sofabed, two loveseats, an antique mahogany dining table & six chairs, a flat screen HD television set with cable TV (includes CNN, BBC international, etc. ) and a small CD player

The bathroom is quite large by parisian standards. It has a tub that doubles as a shower. The boiler/water heater in the apartment provides unlimited, hot water on demand and allows for adjustable and efficient heating in the winter months.

The kitchen is separated from the living area. It’s fitted with a dishwasher, electric oven, gas cooktop, refrigerator & freezer, microwave oven, kettle, coffee machine. There is also a washing machine and a clothes dryer.

The 18th century building, recently redone, is at the corner of rue de Turenne and rue des Francs-Bourgeois, a stones throw from the beautiful Place des Vosges, two minutes from Musee Picasso and Musee Carnavalet.

Le Marais a very nice, central and safe neighborhood with plenty of trendy shops and boutiques ranging from fashion to antiques, plus lots of Museums and historic spots. Unlike some other areas in Paris, you won't have to run very far to buy your dinner: there are several food markets & shops close by. Just across the street is the best bakery in the area...

There's a lot to see within walking distance, and there's a lot of public transportation options just minutes away, which makes the apartment a very strategic location for a Paris visit.

The rental fee includes everything (no additional taxes or supplements). Also:

The apartment comes with Wi-Fi Internet access.

Telephone calls, both local and international, are free of charge.

You can pay for this rental with your Visa® or MasterCard® credit card directly with us, forget about Paypal!

My family (parents, husband and me) stayed at David's apartment for three nights in September. We had a wonderful time, and the apartment was even better than we expected it to be. It's located in a great neighborhood that is close enough to some great sightseeing but it's away from the main tourist locations, making you feel like a local for a few days. The apartment, as promised, faces a private courtyard and was extremely quiet. While some of the furniture looks like it's been rearranged since the photos were taken, the apartment was exactly as the description was written. I was delighted to learn there were tons of Paris and France travel books in the bookshelf in the master bedroom as well as some magazines, which were nice to flip through when we had some time in the apartment. We were able to take advantage of having a kitchen by preparing breakfast every morning (after running to the fantastic boulangerie right across the street) and even doing laundry one of the days. Those amenities were extremely helpful. David was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely prompt with email replies and answered all questions I had, big or small. I would highly recommend this apartment to others looking for an apartment in this neighborhood, and I look forward to the day we can return and stay here again!

Our family enjoyed very much this lovely apartment. Our French is limited but communication in English was easy. We appreciated the wireless connection. The kitchen was very well stocked with not only dishes and cooking utensils but staples as well. The dinning room was ample and would suit a family well for dining in, but our family had great meals dining out. Bus and subway lines and taxi stands were very close so getting around the city was easy. Walking in the neighborhood was really very pleasant with lots of interesting shops and comfortable cafes. Amazingly enough, the apartment was silent at night. It was hard to believe that we could leave the bustling street and yet have a great night's sleep. We've used VRBO before, but not in Europe and would very much recommend this apartment.

My wife, grown daughter and I stayed in David's apartment for a week in September 2012. The apartment was as advertised and provided us with a wonderful base of operations for our Paris vacation. The apartment is relatively large and provided all the room we needed. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and true to the advertising, we never ran out of hot water. We didn't cook dinner in the apartment but we did eat breakfast in, and also had something light to eat/drink prior to going out each night for dinner. The kitchen appliances (e.g. refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker) that we used worked well. The living room provided enough room to eat at the table, relax on the sofa and chairs, and watch TV when we wanted. The table can double as a working/planning surface. Basic provisions were provided with the apartment. The elevator is quite small but we used it at times for 1 or, if friendly 2 people or 1 and some luggage or just luggage) and it worked well and we were glad to have it. The location couldn't be better for us. It's convenient to all of Paris, as well as various metro stops. You can easily get anywhere from here. And of course the Marais itself is a wonderful part of Paris. David is very easy to deal with and wants you to enjoy your stay. Once we decided to rent the apartment, David made everything easy and not complicated. We were able to drop off our luggage early and even get in a little early. While we did not need to contact David during our stay, it was reassuring to know that he was reachable and responsive. Overall, we did not regret our decision, the apartment was great and we would absolutely rent it again and enthusiastically recommend it.

My family has now stayed twice at David's apartment - once in June 2012 and now in April/May 2013. Both times we found the place to be very clean and well stocked. There's a washing machine and dryer plus a hair dryer available. David provides all the dishes, cutlery, glasses, cleaning supplies, towels, blankets, and sheets that you could possibly need. The apartment is quite large. We fit 5 adults comfortably this time (last time there were only 3). We never ran out of hot water even with all of us showering. The apartment is in the back of the property so it's quite quiet. David provides lots of resources for you, including guide books, instructions on all the amenities in the apartment, and fast/free wifi. The location is ideal with lots of cafes and shops nearby and it's close to two metro lines. Generally we were able to walk most places and just rely on a few 'carnets' of tickets for the week (we didn't need a full metro pass). David has changed the layout of the living room since he posted the photos. It's actually more open now than it may appear online. The apartment can be a bit chilly at night, even when it's warm outside. This isn't anything specific to David's apartment. Having lived in Ukraine and the UK, I generally find that North American houses have much better insulation than European ones do. I recommend an extra pair of socks and warm pajamas! Overall, it's a great apartment in an excellent location with a very helpful and accommodating landlord. We'll definitely be back next year.

Our family of 4 (2 children ages 4 and 6) loved staying at David's Marais apartment. It was so well situated and the layout was perfect. Everything you need is in the apartment and many stores are nearby for croissants and cheese and wine! The furnishings are ecclectic and comfortable. The kitchen is well functioning (love having laundry and actually we used the dishwasher often as we ate in the apartment several times) the kettle and coffee machine were also well used and loved. The beds were very very comfy. David was very responsive and was able to get us a larger taxi for our trip to the airport. The building is very quiet and so everyone slept very well (we honestly never heard anything from our bedrooms and I am a very light sleeper). We will return again! Thanks David!

This property is ideally located and a perfect center point for exploring Paris. Stayed here with 3 friends (I've never been to Paris) and we walked to Notre Dame, Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Jardin de Luxembourg among many other sites. The Metro is very close as is Place des Voges. David has provided a beautiful place to return after a long day of touring and unwind in a quiet haven. The apartment is clean, quaintly decorated, a large bath, comfortable beds, working appliances and the free calls home are a lovely bonus. Everyone is friendly, the bakery across the street is divine and excellent boutiques surround the area. This is a very safe area and we went running throughout the week able to explore in many directions. I highly recommend this location and plan to return with my family.

The apartment was not ready when we arrived, as the cleaning lady had forgotten. We were unable to get in as promised, and when we did, it was not a good thing. However, she then came, and when it was all tidied up and ready, we had a truly lovely visit. David could not have been more accomodating. The apartment is very authentic Paris, and although the pictures are really, really flattering and the furniture is not really located where the photographer put it for pictures, it is generally as the photos show it, just not so bright and shiny. By the time we left, we loved it all, and wouldn't change a thing. The area is so very convenient, public transportation is great, and everything we needed was there. We had two couples, who travel together often, and we all completely agree about the beds being comfortable! Thank you David, and I hope you fixed the dining chairs before those sweet little things get too damaged to repair. Love all the antiques in the apartment. So very French! Merci, David, merci!!

A lovely, quintessentially French apartment steps from the Place des Vosges. The beds were comfortable and I appreciated the option of having the second bedroom configured for my two adult sons who came along on the trip. Quiet location. The owner was exceptionally helpful and arranged for taxis for all of us on our differing departure dates. I would not hesitate to recommend this "home in Paris" to friends, family and anyone looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in the Marais section of the city.

My sister and I have just returned from our stay in Paris at David's apartment and it didn't disappoint! I would return in a heartbeat. David's descriptions were accurate, and and we felt safe and sound staying there. It was clean, David was helpful if we had any questions, and I would recommend the apartment highly. We really appreciated the complementary telelphone service. The ease of getting around (by Metro, Bus or by foot) made it attractive in the first place, but all the more so in reality. My first impression of the apartment was "funky," but in a good way. Just what we were looking/hoping for. I hope to return someday. Thanks, David, for the taxi help on that last day!

I stayed in this wonderful apartment with 3 friends in early March, 2011. We travelled to Paris to run the Semi-Marathon de Paris. Supportive beds were important. David, the owner assured us that they would be supportive mattresses and they were. As four women traveling, we wanted to feel safe and enjoy our special week of complete relaxation. This apartment is the place. It is very quiet since you go through a courtyard to get to the elevator and go up to the apartment. You can also take the stairs. The building itself is on an active street but you wouldn't know when you are in the apartment. There are many excellent bakeries around the apartment. They all have great croissants but for the most sublime, it's the one next to Place des Vosges. I think it's called Giraud. The brasserie two blocks toward the metro St. Paul is friendly and authentic. David, the apartment owner, was extremely helpful and available. The shower is good and hot. The tub is big for soaking. The kitchen is clean and has all of your appliance needs, as well as tea and condiments. The arrondisement is very safe and full of boutiques. The Jewish quarter is in the next arrondisement and is easily walked to if it interests you. The location is fabulous, close to the metro, and there more authentic than touristy. The cost was probably half of what a hotel would have cost us. This is a wonderful choice. Thank you, David!
