Welcome to our House. Carova is located at the northern most part of the island that is called the Outer Banks.
Carova (CAROlinaVirginiA) is a community of 280 homes in the "4 wheel drive" area where you can still truly be away from it all. Carova is surrounded by National Wildlife areas, both north and south. At the same time Shopping and Restaurants are only 10 miles south "on the hard road."
Our house is nestled in the sand dunes 300 feet (a 4 minute walk) from the beach. One block behind our house is a canal system leading out to the Currituck Sound. Bring your surf board, kayak and windsurfer. Because access is limited to 4 wheel drive vehicles, there is truly no traffic. Wild (the only true Spanish) horses are everywhere. The beach is one of the best kept secrets of "older" surfers and fisherman alike. If you are looking for no crowds, but want to be able to go to the grocery store, our house is for you.

Wow how time flys when you are having fun. And we had a great time. Got to see the ponies and that was a thrill for my daughter. The dog had a blast chasing sand birds. Great place and great location
What a beautiful location. We enjoyed breakfast on the deck while looking past the sand dunes to the ocean. The house is airy and spacious. The peace of the area, sand dunes the wild horses are beautiful.
We had a great time, good weather, beautiful sand and waves. We explored some of the roads and found the “city park” on the bay. It even looks like a town park. The house had most everything we needed down to excellent barbecuing tools. Probably our dog had the very best time getting to be off of the leash and run on the beach after sanderlings. - H.J. The 6 of us came down for a weekend escape before our friend had her baby. Your place was exactly what the doctor ordered. We played at the beach, went four wheelin’ and had a great time playing cards.
We are very lucky to have stumbled upon this great house! It was so peaceful, the dog enjoyed playing in the ocean everyday! It was amazing to see wild horses roaming right outside your front door and on the sand dunes. We enjoyed this place so much that we hate to leave! Thanks for all your wonderful hospitality and we will be in touch about renting this house again next year! Thanks.
The days go so fast, tonight is our last night and we hate to leave. What a wonderful experience the wildlife is amazing. We loved the peacefulness of the beach.
Mom and daughter are happy, therefore I am happy! A good time was had by all. This was our first trip to OBX and we will be back. Nice to have a beach all to ourselves.
What an amazing place! From driving on the beach to the wildlife (4 horses, a fox, a rabbit and an opossum). This has been such a blessing of a vacation. We are so happy to have gotten to enjoy such a peaceful and relaxing place. As our first real experience on the OBX we couldn’t have asked for more.
