I rented this home for a family trip. There were a total of 6 of us. The home was perfect! The location was fantastic. The amenities were wonderful! The furnishings were so very comfortable and homelike. Thom was very easy to work with as was the property manager, Dori. We will definitely book this home for future stays in Napa. The home backs up to a vineyard and each morning the view was enhanced by multiple Hot Air Balloons passing by. We highly recommend the following attractions: Del Dotto Vineyards for the barrel tasting and cave tour, Domaine Carneros for their spectacular setting and sparkling wines, Round Pond for an olive oil tasting and please visit Clemente's at Vals for some awesome take-out homestyle Italian food. Get the Malfatti...a Napa tradition that should not be missed along with Risotto and Chicken Saute Sec. Don't let the exterior mislead you. The food you will get will be thoroughly enjoyed. Joanne and her father will treat you like family. We got dinner there one evening to have at this wonderful home. It was enjoyed after a relaxing soak in the hot tub while enjoying some spectacular Napa Valley wines! This home has great space for relaxing after days of touring wineries in Napa!

4 of us stayed for 5 nights and it was a pure joy to come home after a long day of sampling wines and driving. The deck and backyard are beautiful and relaxing. We had hot air balloons in the back yard almost every morning. House was spotless and well furnished. A little dated here and there, but lovely nonetheless. A great stay.........Thanks, Thom

We rented this lovely home in order to allow for 8 members of our family to all be together during our stay in Napa for a family wedding. It was perfect! The view of the house from the street just doesn't do this place justice; as soon as you open the front door, you are amazed to see a large, open, and nicely decorated home that just gets better and better as you walk in. All of the bedrooms were perfect for our needs (1 King in Master Suite, queen beds in remaining three bedrooms). The backyard is beautiful and the long views of the Napa Valley are breathtaking. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub despite the rainy days. You can't beat this place for value. Thom and Dorie are easy to work with and make the arrangements/logistics of our stay very easy. We would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful house with a gorgeous view! Great for three or four couples getting ready for touring the magnificent area filled with wineries and excellent restaurants. Hot air balloons seen over the vineyard from the backyard is a perfect way to start the day. Large table is perfect for all of us to gather. Internet service kept us connected. Comfortable couches for relaxing. Nicely decorated. Back yard beautiful with hot tub. Walking trails across the street. Five minutes away from coffee and newspaper in the morning. I recommend this place! Clean but it is in a neighborhood, so you need to be respectful at night.

My family and I recently stayed at this vacation home. The pictures do not do it justice; it is warm and inviting, it has an open floor plan which is wonderful for enjoying your family time, however it has the private space that is also much needed while traveling with family. The home and yard has everything one would want or need and the home is fine turned with all the lovely details. You arrive and are greeted by lovely woman that is so knowledgeable about the valley. She is welcoming and makes you feel as if you are the most important person and family. You soon look around at all the details; fresh water with ice and lemons that she pours for you, spectacular jazz music playing, flowers and the view is incredible! The bathrooms have towels that are rolled and lavender in vases, just like a spa. We enjoyed the home very much and will 100% come back. Some suggestions that one may enjoy while visiting, we used a company called Vine To You Company for an itinerary, they are a destination planning company. They put together the perfect package and saved us SO much money and time. They do everything for you: reservations, appointments and have discounts for wineries and things to do. They are a the perfect destination planner, and their customer service and knowledge is unbeatable. We would highly recommend calling them prior to arriving in the Napa Valley.A few of the things we enjoyed with our package was Del Dotto Winery, Caymus Winery, Jessup and Franciscan Wineries. AdHoc, Pacific Blues and Mustards Grill were a few of our favorite restaurants. We want to come back very soon and will use this home again. Working with this owner was a delight, he is very prompt and courteous.Thank you for everything. From a very happy family.

We recently spent a week at this beautiful home and had a wonderful time. The home exceeded our expectations, it was beautifully decorated and had a beautiful vineyard view. Our extended SUV fit into the garage and since the mornings and evenings were cool, there was no desire to use the backyard earlier than 07:00 or past 21:00. Grocery stores(Whole foods, Trader Joes, Target etc.) were convieniently six minutes away and we were very close to downtown Napa and perfectly located to explore the Napa and Sonoma Valley wineries. We will hopefully rent this home again! Thank you Thom and Dori

We just finished an amazing week in a truly wonderful home in Napa! Our group of 8, comprised of 4 couples who are great friends, spent a relaxing, enjoyable week in wine country. Much of our enjoyment was due to the lovely ambiance of the Harvest Lane house!! The pictures on the website do not do this home justice! With the large gourmet kitchen, we were able to cook at home in the evenings after long and very fruitful visits to wineries in Sonoma, Napa, Russian River, Carneros, and the Silverado Trail. Enjoying the hot tub in the late afternoon after a lot of walking was a Godsend! I cannot think of a thing that I did not love about this place! I highly recommend this rental for couples, families, and friends. Thank you Thom...thank you Dori!

We recently were in Napa for a family wedding and stayed at this Harvest Lane house. In addition to my wife, myself and our two year old twins, we also had grandparents and a few other family members. This house fit our bill perfectly. Great space, awesome backyard, and very clean. The backyard views were picture perfect. The house was very child friendly for our kids and they had plenty of space to play in the backyard. Would definitely rent this house again. Thom the owner was very responsive in booking the house and Dori the property manager was very friendly and super helpful! Thanks to Thom and Dori!

Our family recently came to Napa for a wedding, and we wanted to stay together in a relaxing place that would give us the "Napa" experience, and be close to all the festivities we needed to attend...after reading the reviews to the Harvest Lane house , it sounded like this was a perfect fit, and it was !!!...the house was beautiful (and clean), as was the property...the owner and agent (Thom and Dori) were great to deal with, and made the rental experience seemless...I would recommend this rental to all who want the "Napa" experience, and especially for a close group of friends or family...

After looking at numerous properties on VRBO, I kept returning to Harvest Lane. I couldn't resist the photos of the hot tub under the arbor with a view of the vineyard. The tub, the view and the house were everything we could hope for. Thom - the owner - was very responsive, Dori - the house manager was so pleasant and gave us great tips and coupons for winery discounts. The house was clean and spacious - so nice that we decided not to go out for dinner at all; we just cooked in the great kitchen and enjoyed the beautiful house. The location is perfect for visiting wineries in both Napa and Sonoma and is great for grocery shopping on the way home, etc. But it is so quiet and peaceful that you feel like you are in the country. There was plenty of room to feel like each of the 5 of us had the space we needed and also great space for getting together. We would definitely stay again!

When it was determined that Napa Valley was to be the spot for a family vacation (Mother, daughter, son and wife-all 55 or older) I immediately went to VRBO and the internet to check out the possibilities. There are lots in the area. Harvest House was ultimately our selection. It did not disappoint. In fact, the pictures do not do it justice. The first time I walked through the front door the view made me catch my breath. The photos at the site do not do the panorama justice. Trust me. With four bedrooms the sleeping arrangements were perfect. Bedroom downstairs was great for the eighty-something Mom. Dori maintains the place immaculately, and there was everything one could need for cooking a meal (I did add a garlic press). Which we did every night. We would tour during the day, and the location is perfect for getting around. I also ordered firewood and, as it was April and a bit chilly of the evening, the fire was warming and soothing. Beautiful gas starter for the fireplace. Gas grill out back (cooked steak from Five Dot Ranch at Oxbow. Wonderful Charcuterie there, too). We would have our appetizers out back and watch the sun set. Or, in the mornings we could see the hot-air balloons float overhead. We liked all the restaurants we tried (ask Dori to help you get a reservation at Mustards with her daughter as your waitress; she's nice, too). I do think Tra Vigne was our favorite. Don't miss the rabbit ragout pasta; you will think you are in Tuscany. So, if you are looking for a beautiful location with all the comforts of home, look no further. Thom, the owner, could not have been easier to deal with and all the arrangements went just as he described. This place is fairly priced. If I get to come back to this area there is not a doubt in my mind that I would stay here again. And I almost forgot to mention that there is a lovely park right across the street for easy rambling! Horses trot down the road! The hot tub is wonderful! Wish I was back there now...

This Napa Valley home was a great place to spend our holidays. We recently spent Christmas week here and had a lovely time. We were a family of 7 and felt very comfortable in the home. It was very spacious, clean, warm and inviting. The fireplace was a big plus during the winter holiday. The laundry facility was also very useful for a family of 7 as well as the 3 bathrooms. The house has amazing views of adjacent vineyards, was peaceful and quiet, and a great place to stay for a relaxing getaway. It was also conveniently located to nearby downtown eateries, grocery stores, gas stations and shopping. The owner and property manager were very helpful with questions. It was a wonderful way to spend our holidays. Thank you!

I cannot say enough great things about this Napa vacation home and the home owner. We recently spent 4 nights in this beautiful, very well appointed home with 3 other couples. The home was spotless, has a fabulous / spacious kitchen, living and dining rooms. The attention to detail was exceptional!! The backyard is absolutely amazing with a hot tub overlooking several acres of vineyards. We woke up to a dozen or more colouful hot air balloons flying over the house on Saturday and Sunday morning. The home is proximate to a significant number of exceptional wineries. We cannot wait to return next spring!!

I organized a weekend getaway there with 6 other women -- we are all in our mid-30's so we were looking for a quiet, relaxing time away from kids, husbands and jobs. Everything was as advertised -- the vinyard view from the backyard/hot tub was as beautiful as depicted in the pictures, the kitchen is nice and spacious for cooking and hanging out, the rooms were gorgeous and comfortable. Other positives include: -- walking distance to a nice park with lots of running trails and great view -- proximity to the nice restaurants in downtown Napa -- took us around 10 minutes to drive to Ubuntu, which is an excellent and inventive vegeterian restaurant that even the meat-lovers amongst the group liked -- very responsive agent and owner -- the wireless was not working when we arrived, but the owner was able to stop by to let the Comcast guy in the next morning so it wasn't a problem for us at all. Some things to note: -- Renting a house in Napa is probably not something you want to do if you are expecting to stay up partying until late. As you can see from one of the reviews, there is an ordinance throughout Napa that requires vacation house renters to be inside after 9pm on weekdays and 10pm on weekends. This was a bit of a bummer especially since our neighbors were able to stay in their yard as late as they liked, but we just moved the gathering indoors and it was not a huge problem. Also, the house is in a really quiet, residential area, so I get the feeling that they have low tolerance for noise and big gatherings. Try a different area if you are not comfortable with this. -- The oven wouldn't heat up properly when we were there, so we ended up spending an extra hour or two trying to make our dinner. No biggie since we just hung out in the nice kitchen and grazed and drank wine. We told the agent when we checked out and since she and the owners are both very on top of things, I'm sure it's been fixed since then. Overall, a great place for what we were looking for -- a chance to cook, hangout, and relax in a peaceful, beautiful setting.

What an incredible place to stay! The view from the upstairs master suite and the backyard exceeds the phrase"million dollar views". It is absolutely breathtaking and what a treat when the hot air balloons fly over the back deck. The home is extremely clean and well decorated. The yard/gardens are so well manicured and the spa is the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing and wine tasting. Everything about this property is A+. The owner is obviously a person that requires perfection because this is what you get with this property. You are greeted by Dori who is a lovely individual with a very big smile. Once meeting her, you feel that you have known her for years. She offers such personal details to the home and to making your stay in the Napa Valley the best it can be. She is full of information/suggestions for restaurants, wineries, things to do and places to see. My recommendation would be to contact her prior to your arrival, she is happy to assist you with places that may require reservations. You will not be disappointed. My favorites for wineries are Nickel and Nickel, Artesa Winery, DelDotto and Frogs Leap. Restaurants to visit are AdHoc and Mustards Grill in Yountville. I want to thank Thom (the owner) for providing a home that is a first class vacation rental.

Overall, the house was nice, not as wonderful as advertised, but nice. The house has a great layout and the property itself and the location are also good. We had quite a problem with ants all over the property, the property manager had somone come out to treat, but they only spot treted 2 areas. The hot tub was filthy (scum ring, leaves and bugs covered the bottom, water stunk), and the bathrooms need major updating. These things aside, the worste issue with this rental was the ridiculous and unconstitutional ordinances that are levied only against vacation rentals and their occupants! I'm not sure who the council members are that think they are above our constitution, but forcing renters to be inside the house at 9:00pm Sun-Thur, and 10pm Fri-Sat is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of, and I would gladly sue in state court, each member of the council that came up with that rule if I lived out there. They also force you to park your cars inside the garage and have the door down while the full-time residents of the area park all over the street all night, they hang out as late as they want in their yards, etc. The main reason I seleceted this rental was the beautiful property and surroundings, unfortunately we could not take advantage of those! The only people I could recommend this property to would be retirees that don't care anything about being outside after 9pm, and you better have either 2 small cars or just one mid-size because getting out of your vehicle with 2 cars in that garage is about impossible. I am not sure if this is currently being pursued by my mother and sister who paid for this rental, but I would definitely be seeking at minimum, a 35% refund. Very unfortunate for the homeowners, these rules keep this property from being so much more enjoyable. All I wanted to do was sit outside and enjoy the stars with a cigar and a glass or 2 of wine, what a shame.
Owner response:As the owner of this property I feel the need address the issues that were brought up in the prior review. I was advised by the property manager that ants were observed outside around the deck and in parts of the garden.(not in the house) and were a concern to our guests. I responded to the complaint myself, arrived at the property within 2 hours and sprayed in the locations reported and well as other areas. This was a through spraying, not just in two isolated locations as reported. As the renters were all away from the house, I am curious how they concluded that I only sprayed in two locations. The Hot Tub is thoroughly cleaned prior to the arrival of any new renters. This was the case with this group. The only way leaves or any other foreign matter could of gotten in the hot tub is if the cover was not replaced after use, which is recommended. The hot tub is located in a Gazebo under a Wisteria Vine so without the renters replacing the cover after use, it is quite possible that leaves and flowers could fall into the water. We are planning to update the bathrooms right after the recession ends. The house was built in 1998. The City of Napa has what it calls a "Good Neighbor Policy" It deals use of outdoor areas, parking and noise. I agree, it is restrictive but it applies to all 44 permitted Vacation Rentals in the City of Napa, not just ours. It is designed to avoid neighbor complaints and insure that vacation rentals will continue to be allowed in neighborhoods. Writing a derogatory review about one vacation rental when the ordinance applies to all 44 seems illogical and unfair. We do all we can to provide a pleasant experience for all of our guests. I am sorry the renters who wrote this review did not have such an experience. If you are reading this review in consideration of booking our property I would ask that you read the 10 + reviews that tell of a very different and positive experience. Thank you for taking the time to read my response. We hope to see you at our Harvest Lane Home!

We had plenty of space and the house had everything we needed. The grill and hot tub were perfect for relaxing after a long day running and wine tasting. Thom - Wonderful stay in your beautiful home during our visit to Napa! We especially enjoyed seeing the hot air balloons each and every morning over the lovely backyard. Mimosas in the hot tub made this even more fun! While there is certainly no shortage of fine restaurants nearby, we really enjoyed coming back after a day of wine tasting to prepare and enjoy dinner at "home" most evenings. A big thank you goes out to Dori, who was so nice to welcome us upon our arrival and provide us with lots of helpful information about the house and the Napa area. We had an amazing time visiting many Napa and Sonoma wineries, restaurants and shops. What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the good life. We will be back! Thank you!

Thom - We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Napa and want you to know how much we appreciated your property at Harvest Lane. While slightly taken aback by the suburban residential location, that was immediately dispelled by the impeccable cleanliness of the home, the obvious attention to all details both major and minor, your wonderful property manager Dori, the proximity to hiking trails and most of all the incredible views from the back of the property. Everything about the house was top notch. You run a first class operation and made our stay a memorable one. Thanks! Bob Hughes

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Harvest Lane house with my niece and nephew for a fun- filled, long weekend in Napa. Having a lovely place to stay that gave us a chance to be together as a family, but still have our own privacy, was great! The house is not only lovely, but extremely comfortable and has all the amenities you could want. It really feels like home, and our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Dori, the property manager, was so welcoming - and super fun as a dinner guest! Thanks again for everything, Thom, and hope we get to stay again in the near future.

Our family group of 5 adults, 4 teenage girls and dog visited the Harvest Lane house for the Thanksgiving holiday. We were impressed from the moment we walked through the door. Everyone agreed that the VRBO pictures did not do the house and yard justice. The rooms are spacious, ceilings high, the layout is great with nice flow and separation of space. The house is nicely furnished with comfortable, contemporary design. Bedrooms are lovely: lots of great linens, new beds, big closets and a huge master suite. We chose the house because of the access to great bicycling routes through the vineyards and we could not get the smiles off the serious bikers faces. They rode up Dry Creek to the Silverado Trail with stops at the Bouchon bakery in Yountville for pastries/bread selection we had not seen outside of Europe. We also spent a lot of time walking and biking the miles of trails across the street at the huge park/natural area. Dogs are permitted and there is lots of opportunity to run and fetch, but be careful about police enforcing the leash law. We were lucky and our dog had a lot of exercise during the weekend running up and down the hills. The backyard of the house had a beautiful landscape design and we used the chat set and hot-tub quite a bit during the evenings. The big kitchen was perfect for our holiday cooking. When we arrived, Dori (property manager/next door neighbor) promised that we could come and borrow anything we were missing, but we never had to take her up on the offer. Loved the big refrig, gas convection oven/stove and large dining table. We brought a couple of chairs down from the master suite so we could seat 10 and still have an extra table in the kitchen for serving or doing a big jigsaw puzzle. Bird watchers will want binoculars because the vineyard was buzzing with birds. It's a lovely view out the back of the house, but we never saw the balloons launch due to foggy mornings. We'll have to visit again! Thanks Thom and Dori for making us so comfortable. Julie

The house is so comfortable and big! My family and 6 month old son were all very warm and cozy and there was lots of open living space to lounge in after a long day of wine tasting. And the view outside the back is amazing!! Vinyards as far as the eye can see (the hot air balloons were only in signt at 7am however). And we even used the jacuzzi even though it was cold outside, because you can't NOT use a jacuzzi that has that great a view!! Thanks also to Dori the property manager who helped us figure out how to use the oven, and who checked in on our lonely puppy while we were out to make sure he was ok! She's great. Thanks so much. A+
