To be about 15 minutes away from such activity (outlet mall, Cabella, casino, Target & Costco) yet while here all we heard were birds, crickets, frogs and our dog Gus** swimming then snoring! I read two books while here and what an ideal time. Jennifer and Bruce are the greatest hosts; there if you need them otherwise you are there to relax and enjoy Crabapple for what it is;an idyllic restful getaway. We WILL be back soon ** clumber spaniel who swam for the 1st time here and enjoyed it...

We stayed at Lake Crabapple over the 4th of July this summer. It is convenient enough that family members could come and go all week. The Cabin and setting are beautiful. Jennifer communicated with us about what to expect ahead of time and when we got there it was even better than we had hoped. Bruce and Jennifer are exceptionally welcoming and accomodating. They were there when we needed them and invisible when we were ready for privacy. The cabin is beautiful and had everything we needed presented for us to use with ease. We made many memories and look forward to returning year after year. Thank you!
Owner response:Thank you Anne, We are looking forward to your stay in 2012. ~Jennifer~

We rented the log home to be near our family in Everett. It looked great, so our family (5 adults plus a baby, plus two dogs, total) decided to join us for most of the time we were there. It was perfect. There are so many nice touches....a canoe, swing seat, beautiful deck, indoor fireplace & outdoor fire pit, great fishing dock , hot tub, that make it feel more like a resort than just a cabin. And...how great to have a washer & dryer right there, coffee & expresso machine, barbecue, etc. The view from the living room, dining room & kitchen is spectacular, so you can just sit and look at it rain on the lake and still have a great time. This is a beautiful home , with many designer touches and we had a wonderful family time here.
Owner response: Wonderful memories. Thank you so much, ~jennnifer~

What a beautiful place to rest. The view of the lake was incredible, the clawfoot tub was perfect, the tempur-pedic mattresses amazing, and the hot tub overlooking the lake was fabulous. There were all the comforts of home without having to be home - and for a mom with three little ones, that's saying something. They and my hubby had an awesome time and we WILL be back again soon. Thanks for sharing your spot with us, Meyers!

The cabin was everything we were hoping for and more. Only about 10 minutes from the freeway but absolutley beautiful. We took the canoe out, moved furniture around and had a dance floor and a space to play pictonary. Plus my dogs got to come. Just a really wonderful stay a shot trip from home.

We stayed here with our family for 3 weeks this summer. The cabin, setting and hosts were a huge part of our great experience. From the first minute of our arrival we felt incredibly welcome and part of the family. Our children were happy to be able to play in the garden, fish off the dock, canoe, swim or just relax in the hot tub. The cabin comes fully equipped and we used the grill and fire pit just about every night. A 10/10 expereince and we would certainly reccomend this location to anyone looking for a great place not too far from Seattle and right in the middle of a beautful natural setting. We will certainly be back many times.

Dear Jennifer & Bruce, Thanks so much for creating this perfect vacation retreat. We really love the cottage-everything that you have done is perfect! The furniture is very comfortable. We really appreciate the extras you left for us: The coffee, chocolate, bottled water, ice, and condiments. Thanks for letting us bring our cat. Royal payne came over to visit everyday- an extra bonus! What an extraodinary lovely place. Thank You

Although we had "true" Seattle weather, we loved our visit. We enjoyed the rain, the view of the lake and the cozy fires in the fireplace. The Cottage is beautiful and very comfortable. Thanks for sharing it with our family.

Hi Jennifer, I never had a chance to thank you for our stay in your cabin. It was definitely the most beautiful and peaceful place I have ever stayed in my life. You're an excellent host and we never expected all the little luxuries you provided (coffee, various teas, books, CD's, smores, to name just a few). I actually proposed to my now wife-to-be on the lake in your canoe. So we will definitely be visiting you again. Thank you so much and we hope to come again as soon as possible, -Bill

Jen and Bruce have created a cottage that is the perfect "get away from the rat race" vacation spot. Mind you, the "rat race" is easily accessible if one needs it to be (it's about 15 minutes' drive to the interstate, shopping, a big casino, restaurants, movies, etc.), but if you're looking for a relaxing change of pace, this is the perfect spot. We loved our time here and hope to return many times. We love the quiet, oh-so-peaceful location of the cottage...and waking up in the morning with the lake covered in fog made everything seem magical! The cottage is very comfortable with big over-stuffed chairs and sofa and with more amenities than we could find time to use! But my favorite place to sit and read or contemplate the universe is the beautiful gazebo...a perfect spot for morning coffee, afternoon tea, a sundowner, a nightcap...whatever! We found the whole experience delightful. Everything is immaculate and convenient with lots of extra loving touches to make this cottage feel like home-away-from-home, and we loved it. Thank you for your warm hospitality! Judy and Gene

What can I say? Crabapple Cottage is our favorite place on Planet Earth! The cottage is lovingly decorated with the most comfy furniture and delightfully artistic items I've ever seen. The bed in the master bedroom (we've never used the 2nd bedroom) is as comfortable as our OWN bed- and that's saying a lot! A cup of coffee in the morning, sitting in the gazebo with a view of the lake, will shake away all the cares of the world. Whether your preference is to pop a movie into the dvd player, or read a book--- cozy up to the fireplace--- it's so relaxing to just lay around and get comfortable. Not that there aren't things to do if you're feeling active. My husband and I love paddling around the lake in the canoe, and hiking in the woods is always fun. Jennifer has equipped the kitchen with all the tools and appliances you'll need, and Bruce makes sure there's plenty of logs for the fire. They're the quintessential hosts. Crabapple Cottage is our Happy Place. Gary and Jean McKibben
