Few vacation rentals in Pagosa Springs include a garage to keep your vehicle from being covered in snow during the winter.
The home is artfully decorated, well-appointed & comfortably furnished to provide a relaxing escape from day to day living. Past guests frequently comment on how very comfortable they were during their stays. Extra care was taken to provide you with the little details to make your stay more enjoyable. We realize some folks cannot leave work back home for long periods, so the home is equipped with free Wi-Fi for your computer access needs; please inquire for details.
We also made efforts to keep the home "green" by installing water- and energy- and paper-saving features & to support local U.S. industry by furnishing with products made from sustainable textiles & purchased from local businesses. All these were added without compromising your desire for exceptional comfort.
The home is situated just across the street from Lake Forest in a quiet neighborhood. You will have beautiful views of the lake, which is well-suited for fishing, canoing, or strolls along the shore where one can see abundant fish & bird life. The sun shines at least 300 days each year here. From several rooms in the house one has views to the north of Pagosa Peak & the Weminuche Range, of the South San Juan Range to the east & of vibrant sunsets to the west.
Enjoy these things on your visit to Pagosa Springs:
-SKIING & SNOWBOARDING at Wolf Creek, 30 miles from the home, with over 400" snow last season, this resort boasts the most snow in Colorado, with more affordable lift tickets and shorter lift lines than the giant resorts...

Gorgeous Home, Mountain & Lake Views, Free Wi-Fi!!!
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Pagosa Springs
It's hard to find a place more spectacularly beautiful than the area in & around Pagosa Springs. It is a small, quiet town with a surprisingly large list of things to do! From soaking in the soothing hotsprings to skiing the amazing snow at Wolf Creek, to hiking the many fantastic trails into the Weminuche Wilderness & the South San Juan--it's a paradise for anyone who loves the outdoors & a little "down time." Our home, the Pagosa Home of Warmth & Light, showcases the beauty of the region, with spectacular mountain views & a peaceful vantage across the street from Lake Forest.
The Unique Benefits at this House
In the summer, we love to awaken to cheerful birdsong, prepare and enjoy a big breakfast and go hiking on one of the many spectacular trails in the Weminuche Mountains. Later, we'll wind down our day relaxing on the back deck in the 2-3 person swing while dinner cooks on the BBQ and where we can enjoy fantastic sunsets.
In the winter, we frequently enjoy a cup of coffee in the sunroom loft where we can watch steam rise off the lake. Later, after an exhilarating day on the snow and a soak in the hot springs downtown, we return home where we love to warm ourselves by the woodstove, gaze out the dining room windows at sunset, then enjoy a delicious candle-lit meal we've made in our well-appointed kitchen, then we'll laugh together while we play a game or two, or stretch our legs out and read a book from the home's collection.
Regardless of the season, the home is full of natural light and incredibly comfortable. We take great pride in having outfitted the house with as many environmentally-conscious features as possible. We are thrilled that Pagosa Springs has places to purchase food raised by local farmers.
Or if we desire a break from cooking, Pagosa Springs has some truly tasty restaurants.
We've also discovered the warmth of the locals here. From our neighbors to the folks at check-out counters, from proprietors to servers at restaurants, the people here are & friendly and helpful. What more is there for a relaxing getaway?

Owner's Map of Pagosa Springs
Hello to you from Mark & Wynne! We've been happily married for almost 13 years. For many years we've been fascinated by southwest Colorado, so we finally made a dream come to life by purchasing this home in Pagosa Springs to enjoy and to share it with others! Both of us work in healthcare, and Wynne also works as a biologist and yoga instructor. We have a great love for being outdoors & experiencing life to its fullest. Our outdoor pursuits include skiing, snow boarding, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, bicycling, kayaking & rafting. All of this is even more fantastic when we can share it with friends & loved ones.

Dear Mark & Wynne, Thanks so much for sharing your home with us, on our nice relaxing vacation to Pagosa Springs, CO. We enjoyed our fun-filled days horseback riding, hiking, beautiful drive to Durango. One of the many features that we enjoyed was the weather. In Texas, where we are from, it is hot and unbearable during the day. Thank you, again, for sharing your home. Sincerely,

Mark & Wynne, Thank you so much for letting us stay in your home. It was nice for the kids to have a place to relax and run & play. We enjoyed tubing, hiking & horseback riding. Our day at Durango Mtn was also fun (alpine slide, mining for rocks). We can't wait to come back. Thank you.

Excellent home! This was exactly what I was looking for: 1) no front desk 2) no noisy neighbors 3) 2 car garage If you want to get away, then this is the place to be. Nothing feels better than coming home to a warm inviting log cabin with a roaring fire and a game of chess.
Owner response:So glad you had such an enjoyable visit! Please let us know when you'd like to come again--remember returning guests receive an automatic discount on all future visits!

Dear Wynne & Mark, We had a great time in your beautiful home. We hiked to the top of Treasure Falls and it was gorgeous. We ate at Boss Hogg's last night and it was GREAT! Your June weather was perfect. We left 105+ weather in Texas and this was very refreshing. We plan to be back soon. Thanks for sharing. Eddie, Pauletta, Kevin & Amy.

Dear Wynne & Mark, You have such a lovely home, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The snow was great at Wolf Creek and the skiing better every day as the crowds dissipated. The master bedroom is gorgeous! I felt very spoiled (my birthday was on the ****). My husband and I brought our daughter, my husband's brother and his 2 daughters on the trip. The cousins had fun skiing, exploring and making fun movies with their Mac. Thanks again for opening up your home. God bless you, Robyn & family
