My wife and I and our son and daughter-in-law just completed our stay at Hale Alii Kai Townhouse at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet Club. The description of the property is spot on. We are still dreaming about being in our unbelievably comfortable bed in the master bedroom and enjoying the view of the ocean and downtown Kona. The view from the beautiful master bathroom is equally amazing. We ate at many good restaurants while on the big island, but we loved eating on the lanai at the townhouse the most. The very private ocean setting is breathtaking. At the end of the beach next to the complex is a restored heiau, and if you venture out on the flat lava near the temple at low tide, you will see some amazing petroglyphs. We experienced some wonderful adventures while on the island but were always happy to return home to our own tropical oasis. Thank you Maria and Clint for making your townhouse so special. Clint's artwork is outstanding, and when we arrived, there was a signed print, fresh fruit, and snacks waiting for us. Now that is unmatched Hawaiian hospitality.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We have recently spent 9 nights in this vacation Townhouse. The beach front location is ideal. (not a swimming beach, but there s one within walking distance.) You can fully enjoy the views by sitting either in the outdoor eating area or in the beautiful landscaped garden area. This is a corner unit and is very private and quiet. The water crashes on the lava rock just a few feet from you. There are also beautiful views from the Master Bed. I loved to watch the waves slowly roll by as they washed up on the shores. The townhouse itself is very comfortable, well stocked, very clean and nicely decorated. The owners were friendly and professional. My work responsibilities take me to Kona 2 to 3 times a year. I have not found a nicer place on the water. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was our 4th year coming to the townhouse and it never disappoints. Clint and Maria are the best and go out of their way to make this your own little bit of Paradise. We could sit and watch the ocean for hours and the sunsets are amazing. The townhouse is beautiful, extremely comfortable and we enjoy every minute of our stay. The pool is great, there are plenty of places to eat nearby, golf is 5 minutes away and Maria can help you find great activities whether you want to go out on the Outrigger canoes or swim with the dolphins (thanks Capt Veto). An amazing place to vacation rental property that is even better in person.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a relief! I arranged a trip for my elderly mom and not so young sister at this condo. I dreaded getting a phone call with complaints but on the contrary --they loved it! Clean, ON the water, posh even. They were completely satisfied and I am so grateful the owners represented accurately (many don't). Thanks to them for that. I hope I get to go someday. Highly recommended.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Maria & Clint, Thanks so much for allowing my wife and I to stay in your fantastic condo. The location is perfect for getting to the best sites on the island as well as for just relaxing and watching outrigger canoes, spinner dolphins, and sea turtles go by as you sip drinks on the beautiful lanai. The exquisite artwork, the top-of-the-line furnishings, and comfortable layout make this condo one of the best we have ever stayed in. From this central location we were able to do lots of snorkeling at Honaunau (2 steps) Bay and Kealakekua Bay; drive to summit of Mauna Kea (14,000ft); see eruption at Kilauea volcano; tour Kona Coffee plantation; numerous hikes; and do a night snorkel with manta rays. We were even lucky enough that the snorkel gear at the condo fit us perfect and saved us from having to rent it for the week. I could go on and on about the positive aspects of this condo. Thanks again for making us feel so welcome and allowing us to enjoy your condo. Sincerely, Carl & Janice HutchersonRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed only 7 days and wish I'd been able to stay longer. The descriptions/pictures of the unit were right on. It looked and felt brand new with decorator touches that I appreciate. The artwork on the walls enchanced the feel of being in Hawaii. The view was spectacular and even at night the ocean/sky views from the master bedroom were breath-taking. Because of the location of the condo you have no one walking in front of your windows. It feels secluded, private and truly "ocean front." Little kindnesses from the owners welcomed me from the beginning of my stay. A bottle of champagne and fresh fruit from the local farmer's market plus a warm welcome made me feel right at home. They answered any question I had about navigating the town of Kona. This "aloha" spirit really impressed me. The nearby beach feels very private and it even has visiting sea turtles. The swimming pool and tennis courts are so close to the unit. I will recommend this condo to friends and family without hesitation.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I am so glad we found this place! Clint and Maria, the owners, have done a wonderful job in making sure they've thought of everything. The condo is beautifully decorated and stocked with more amenities than listed, everything from sunscreen to boogie boards to giant beach towels to snorkling gear! You name it, they probably have it. But the best part of staying there was the location. The condo is a corner unit perfectly situated on a point where the waves crashing against the rocks will lull you to sleep and remind you of the amazing paradise you are in when you awake. Upstairs the master bedroom views are breathtaking.. and the bathroom overlooking the ocean. I can't tell you how nice it was to take a shower with the waves crashing below. Lovely, just lovely! The sunset from the lanai wow! The yard is landscaped with tropical plants that provide privacy from neighbors on the side. So much to say and not enough room. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We've stayed at many VRBO properties around the states and even some internationally and this was one of the top places we've lucked into. This is a place that truly delivers on what it promises. I don't believe you can get any closer to the ocean than this unit. It faces north with a side view to the sunset. The unit is set way back from the highway so you hear absolutely no road noise. It's tastefully appointed and thoughtfully equipped (coffee grinder, decent knives and pans). Virtually all you have to do is bring your bathing suit. It's too bad Hawaii is so far away for us East Coasters. I don't know if I'll ever get back but if I do this would be the first place I'd try to reserve and would definitely tell anyone I know who's going to the Big Island.Did you find this review helpful? We where blessed with the privaledge of staying in this beautiful home with some friends of ours that came to Kona with us. We've known the Sloan's for a few years and have grown to cherish their friendship. Staying in this wounderful home with the spectacular views from nearly every window, especially the master bedroom & bathroom...WOW!!! Coffee and champaign breakfasts on the lanai with the best view rver. We really enjoyed ourselves just sitting outside in the very private, ocean front backyard watching the whales, dolphins, birds and the different water crafts. The art work is amazing!! So much so, we have collected several of Clint's pieces and enjoy every one of them. We will definately be back to stay, and have recommended it to many friends.Did you find this review helpful?
