Our waterfront cottage is situated on the shores of Lake Livingston in the Piney Woods of East Texas. The surrounding nature provides a scenic and peaceful setting for Family Vacations, Fishing Adventures and Friends' Retreats!
The cottage is newly decorated with a pristine waterfront theme, to provide you with a relaxing & entertaining environment for your vacation or retreat. The spacious kitchen is stocked full of gadgets and supplies. All linens are provided as well as additional pillows, blankets & towels. Paper supplies such as towels, tissue, plates and cups are also supplied. All you’ll need is your own clothes and groceries! We have a large grocery store and several “convenience” stores in town. Additional shopping is available in nearby Livingston.
Our personal residence is just down the lane, so we are nearby to insure that you find the perfect, peaceful getaway! We enjoy and respect our peaceful neighborhood which is filled with friendly residents. We ask that you respect their property, their privacy and their “peace” .
Family Vacation:
The spacious, lake front yard provides a wonderful setting for lounging, games, picnics and good old family fun. The cottage has 2 separate sleeping areas for up to 4 adults. Each room has a queen or full bed & 1 twin bed. The living room has a twin sleeper and a queen sleeper for an additional sleeping area. And for those who love the “great outdoors”, the huge screened-in back porch has plenty of space for sleeping bags & cots. Bring your own boat (or rent one) and take the family out to the open waterway to enjoy swimming, water-skiing and tubing. There are many places to explore around the shores, but in the evenings you can just sit by a campfire, or go inside to enjoy some movies from our large video collection! Gather the family around one of the three large tables to enjoy a favorite board game...there’s a cabinet full of them! Finally, the fully equipped laundry room helps keep the fun flowing ! Laundry supplies are furnished.
Fishing Adventures:
“Angler’s Paradise” is just one way to describe the fishing on Lake Livingston! The quiet coves are full of natural flora that provide great areas for several types of fish. We have daily reports from a few of our neighbors, some believable, about what’s biting and what they’re “biting on”! We have a few “Fishing Tournaments” each year and our coves are some of the most popular for snagging “winning” black bass! The fishing experience is great right from our lighted dock, complete with cleaning station and an assortment of fishing tackle. Tie your boat off at the dock or, if it fits, slip into the covered boathouse. Fuel, bait and fishing licenses are available at the nearby marina. The back porch is great for late-night card playing, telling fish stories and, smoking is allowed ONLY ON THE PORCH! PLEASE NOTE THE ABOVE MENTIONED “QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD”!
Quilter’s Retreat:
Our cottage is designed with the Quilter in mind! Enjoy nature’s own, lake front solitude...and quilt to your heart’s content! We can accommodate up to 6 quilters and their sewing machines. The large “island” in the kitchen is the perfect place for your cutting mats and quilting supplies. The kitchen table and the huge family table on the screened-in back porch will allow each one to have their own sewing space. The table on the porch is nearly 9’ long, with a smooth surface and 2 long benches and plenty of regular chairs. The bathroom has lots of storage space for all the “girl” stuff and the half-bath makes it a little more comfortable for a large group. And when you get weary from the quilting (what?!!) just walk down to the dock and enjoy the peaceful, scenic lake front views! |
Pet Friendly: Small pets are allowed. Note: A "leash-law" is enforced in the neighborhood. Must be in owner's kennel at night.
