My husband, college age daughter, and her 2 friends spent the last week of March at this beautiful condo. The property is in an excellent location in Playa Del Carmen. We could walk to 5th Avenue and enjoy wonderful restaurants and shopping. The beach in front of Luna is beautiful, and the infiniti pool was great. In Playa you have to be careful of where you rent on the beach as some places, although lovely properties, have terrible locations on the beach. A few years ago, we rented a lovely condo a few blocks north of Luna on the beach. The unit was very nice, but you had to walk down the beach to swim. Some areas get a lot of seaweed washing up on the beach, and you not only can't swim, but when it's hot out there is a terrible odor. This condo was very well equipped, and nothing was lacking. The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were beautiful, and the whole place lived up to our expectations. The grounds of the complex were very well maintained, and the security was excellent. We will definitely be returning!

We stayed in F2 at the end of March and had a wonderful time. It's the perfect location close to shops, restaurants and on the beach. We really enjoyed our vacation and would love to go back.

Great place to stay, centrally located, on the beach and just a block up to 5th Ave, with all the restaurants and shops. With three bedrooms it makes it good for either a family or three couples and you can save by using the full kitchen for meals. Easy walk to the Mega grocery store and then take the taxi back for 30 pesos. Will definitely come back to Luna Encantada.

Our vacation at Luna Encantada was everything we had hoped for- it was relaxing, the beach and water were beautiful, and the location was perfect. The condo had everything we needed, and then some. There were even pool toys to use! The staff was a pleasure to work with. The views from the condo, and especially the pool, were great. We had no issues with noise from the adjacent properties. Did I mention the location was perfect? It's truly a gem!

Although Luna Encantada is a lovely property, I cannot recommend it to anyone other than the 21-30 year old party crowd. The complex is located next to an after hours club (Bang) to the south. The techno music/rave began between 4:00 am and 5:00 am most mornings. On Sunday night, it started at 10:00 pm and was still going strong when we checked out Monday morning at 9:00 am. You could hear the bass booming all over the complex. The woman we rented from offered to move us, however; the condo she wanted to move us to was located right next to a bar on the north side that had a 9 piece band scheduled to play that night. Not an improvement. The staff was very professional and the grounds were well kept. The kitchen was very well equipped. The beach consisted of both sand and iron shore. The view of the water from the condo was great. As stated earlier, this is a really nice condo; however, it is not suitable for a relaxing family vacation. I blame myself for not investigating earlier. If I would have read all of the reviews available on line, I would have known that Luna Encantada had a history of being a noisy complex and would have avoided it.
Owner response:These guests visited Playa del Carmen during the Electronic Music Festival, a relatively new event that takes place in Playa for one week in early January. It should be noted that noise from the club to the south, Bang, has not been an issue for the past year due to a change in operations. Bang now primarily operates as a beach club during the day only. With the exception of the Electronic Music Festival in early January, we have not received a comment about noise from Bang in almost a year. Noise from Hotel Fusion, the other establishment mentioned in the review, has almost never been a problem for Luna guests. While they often have bands playing in the early evening, it is usually reggae, jazz, or similar softer types of music with little amplification. Fusion chose to play techno music that particular week because of the Festival. Many guests only want to stay at Luna because of its proximity to Fusion and its wonderful beach restaurant. We feel terrible that these particluar guests did not have a pleasant stay at Luna because of the Festival in town. Playa often has different kinds of festivals in town, though none with the volume of this event, so it pays to research before booking your vacation in such a vibrant town as Playa del Carmen."

I stayed in this condo facing the Caribbean Sea for four nights with my wife and four teenage children and it was fabulous. Truly within walking distance of the main shopping/restaurant district, and even closer to the sand. Actually it is right on the sand! Very comfortable, and the owner, staff, and security could not have been friendlier or more helpful/pleasant to deal with. The inside of the condo was very nice and clean! There was even ice in the freezer for our use and fresh gound coffee in the morning. Flat screen tv's and comfortable beds. Maid service too. They also provided unlimited filtered water in your room that looked and tasted great. Ocean view from master suite with private bath. Clean grounds. Infinity edgeless pool overlooks the beach sand action and Caribbean. Recommend restaurant next door (Fusion?) with seating on the sand and live entertainment/music most nights. Noise was not a problem!! Would go back in a heartbeat!!! And hope I do soon. The local people in town very friendly & helpful, no attitude!!! Great deals-get a massage right on the beach for $20-25 per hour! We all ate pastor tacos from street cart/vendor for 10 pesos a piece! My family of six ate more than 30 tacos, and no we did not get sick. Went back for more the next day! This vacation was truly one of the best values in a fabulous setting I can remember for my family of six.

Luna Encantada is my new favorite place to stay in Playa del Carmen. We have been visiting Playa for years, and watched this pinkish complex being constructed a few years ago. Its location can't be beat- it is right on the beach and close to lots of great restaurants on 5th Ave. We especially loved going to Fusion, which is right next door, for its fun beachy restaurant atmosphere, and great bands most afternoons. So relaxing! I didn't hear any noise from the club next door. They did have a beach club set up during the day time with beds and umbrellas, but there was no music at all at night. The condo itself is well-appointed with everything you could need. The dishwasher and washer/dryer were especially nice to have. Many condos in Playa don't have dishwashers, so it was so nice having one! The staff at Luna were fantastic as well, and there was always someone there to answer questions and set up tours for us. My little kids loved the pool. It has multiple levels, so even the youngest could splash around and still reach the bottom. Overall, it was a fantastic, relaxing vacation, and the location can't be beat!
Owner response:We are so happy that you enjoyed our condo. We think that Luna Encantada has one of the best locations in Playa. You should come back and visit again now that the beach reclamation project is complete. The beach is enormous!

This is the nicest place in Playa. The view is fabulous and and the condo is very upscale. Everything is well maintained and very clean. You are within walking distance to everything in town or you can just watch the waves on the beach. We are going back!!

We just returned from a week in Playa del Carmen, which was great! We loved our stay at Luna Encantada F-2. Very comfortable and convenient. Only 1/2 block off of 5th Ave. and on the beach you - can't get any better then that! It was so nice not to have to take a bus. Within steps of the condo on the beach we rented sail boats and a snorkeling trip. What a great location! Hope to return again.

We stayed in unit F2 from Dec 27th until Jan4th - the condo is very clean/well maintained and well equipped. The rental agent and on- site property manager were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The main problem is the bar right next door to Luna Encantado, which apparently only opened earlier this year. If you like raves and techno music then this is the place for you. While you can't hear the music too much while in the condo (there is hurricane glass on the windows), the minute you step outside you are subjected to nonstop music which blares from the early morning hours, throughout the day until mid-afternoon, then starts up again in the evening. It makes lying by the pool or beach less than relaxing. We ended up going to the beach at Playacar one day to get away from it. Many other people staying in other units were equally or more unhappy, especially those in units directly beside the bar. We expected New Year's Eve to be noisy (that's normal) but this went on almost every day we were there. Hopefully the condo association will be able to put some pressure on the bar owner to tone down the music, at least during the day. Otherwise, I would only recommend this location to real party-goers, not families or couples looking for a quieter environment. My previous stay in Playa del Carmen was in the Playacar area - I definitely preferred it to the Luna Encantado location - beach was less crowded, less noisy but still within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, bars.
Owner response:The owners acknowledge that the noise from this club has been loud but that has been nearly completely remedied. Luna's HOA and management staff have worked with the club's owners to reduce noise levels and hours of operation. Additionally, the condo owners have installed hurricane glass and a new concrete barrier between the condo and the club to eliminate unwanted noise. This club, along with the rest of the bars and restaurants in Playa and especially along the beach, operate at extended hours during the 2 weeks around Christmas and New Years and 2 weeks during spring break. The festive activity during those periods affects all beach-front lodging. The remainder of the year this club is open only a few hours per night, and in fact isn't open at all during certain times of year. Between the club's reduced hours and the sound improvements to the condo, guests should not be disturbed by club noise.

In our 7 day stay, we had 2 nights with a full moon, and the view from the balcony of the moon over the night ocean and pool was incredible. A fully lighted criuse ship stopping at Cozumel completed an unbelievably beautiful scene. Property was well maintained and very comfortable for 7 people in our party. Short morning jaunt to the corner for fresh fruit cup, Mexican coffee and down to the beach front to watch the world go by. Day trips to ruins, Cozumel and family fun areas end with an evening stroll along the Avenue, smells of wonderful food, music and the laughter of people (like me) leaving cold, windy winter behind for a few days in paradise. Besides, Jacques Pepin likes Playa well enough to own a place...
