This beautiful, tastefully furnished home is located on the open water of the Atlantic Ocean and has all the amenities of home. With two boat docks, a boat ramp, new bait freezer, and a vacant lot next door to park your trailer. A cut-in boat basin allows easy ocean access, and protects your boat from any wind. Sea view and a fishing haven ! The lower keys have some of the best fishing . Also for the divers, Looe Key and the Bush ship wreck is by far the best diving in the Keys, and they are both strait out from Cudjoe Key. Cudjoe is a charming Keys's town with nearby restaurants, a day spa, and unique shops. Enjoy one of the worlds most beautiful sunsets. Go back country fishing, sport fishing, or dive the wrecks. Bring your own boat or charter one from one of the many nearby marina's. All this within minutes of this rental property. Something for everyone! For an unforgettable vacation..... this place has it all
Quite dead end street.: The house sits on a quite dead end street, with only 5 other homes on the entire block. I own the vacant lot next door for added privacy. The house was completely remodeled inside and out in Dec. of 2006. With new decks, siding, tile, dock, and paint. A new bait freezer downstairs for the avid fisherman. Rental includes two one-man kayaks and one two-person kayak to paddle around the islands and the use of two bikes.
Ocean views from the decks are the best in the Key: The ocean views consist of open water with three Island dotting the horizon. The closest island is a major bird habitat. During the evening you can watch the birds flock to the island to nest, then leaving again at sunrise. There are much more interior photo's at our home web site .
Two docks and a boat ramp: There is also a vacant lot next to the house for your privacy and to park your trailer or cars.

we had a great time here. very convenient to key west (about 20 miles or so) The owner was very efficient and friendly and checked that we had everything. The use of the kayaks and heated pool were very handy. The views are spectacular and we would recommend this place to anyone. Great food in Key west!!Recommended for: Pet owners.
Owner response: The best part of owning this rental house is hearing about all the enjoyment are renters receive by staying there. Come see what they are talking about and enjoy all the Keys have to offer.

Great Keys Family Vacation
Great Keys Family Vacation

This past August, our family consisting of myself, my husband, my 2 adult sons, and one of their friends rented this wonderful vacation home. We live in Palm Beach County, FL and were seeking a vacation without the cost and bother of air travel. The house was exactly as described and pictured in the listing. It was very clean and we had no problem with pests. The pool was a little smaller than I imagined, but provided just the right opportunity for cooling off. (My husband even swam multiple laps in it.) We all enjoyed using the Kayaks to explore the surrounding waters. The bikes provided an opportunity for one of my sons to have a bike adventure, as well. Being August, it was very hot, so we enjoyed the spaciousness of the inside of the home during the hottest time of the day. The location is great, and we went into Key West 3 times, once to go deep sea fishing on a party boat, once to see the Sunset Festival, and once to take a tour by the Old Town Trolley (really too hot to do much walking during the day in Key West.)We went snorkeling using a dive company called "Strike Zone" in Big Pine Key. The woman who managed the snorkelers on the boat (I think her name was Hazel) was terrific. If you use this company, ask to be on a boat with her. She made the trip special. We enjoyed a nearby restaurant called the Square Grouper. I also enjoyed some coffee and pastries at a local bake shop, I think it was called the Sugarloaf Bake Shop, on the Gulf side of US 1, east of Cudjoe. Other activities we enjoyed were looking for Key Deer on No Name Key, going to Bahia Honda Beach, and exploring the local shops. Peter, the house owner was very pleasant to work with and answered our many questions. Our security deposit was returned promptly. We even had the cooperation of Mother Nature: Tropical Storm Isaac was just beginning to approach the morning we had planned to leave. Although we had some rain, our trip back was uneventful. Would definitely recommend the home to others.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We rented this house the week before the people who wrote the termite review and we had no problems with termites or any signs of them while we here. We checked out the Saturday before these folks arrived and everything was fine. We loved the house and enjoyed our stay. Our entire family consisting our two children and their spouses had only good things to say about the house. The pest control came while we were there to see if there we any problems and the pool was cleaned the Saturday we arrived. We would definitely stay there again. This is the third house we have rented in the area and it was the best of the three. The owner was very accommodating and easy to work with.Owner response: Thanks so much Sue, happy to hear you had a wonderful vacation. Peter

My family and I spent a week in this house. The view is great as well as the lay-out of the house.Upon arrival we found the pillowcases in our kids bedroom covered with termite wings, live termites under the sheets and inside the pillow covers. Needless to say, we had to move a mattress to the upstairs living room, so the kids slept there the entire stay. We quarantined the room and immediately contacted the owner; he promised that a pest control company would be out the following weekday. They arrived in the late afternoon on the last night of our stay, confirming termite infestation and that the house has to be tented. Very poor cleanliness, my daughter had to mop all floors, they were filthy, clean railings etc. We felt very unsafe as the locks on one sliding door were broken; had to leave the house unlocked and were concerned at night time with an open door. The pool was never serviced during our stay despite the owners statement that this is done once a week. Our security deposit was returned without any apology for our extremely bad experience, furthermore no compensation, although that was not what we are looking for. We feel bad for future renters, they will experience what we did. The house is rented till late August 2012 and unless the owner puts them up for three days in a hotel, he will be unable to tent and treat the termites. We would have recommended the house to friends and family and even returned next year, if the above mentioned had been addressed in professional manner by the owner. I have worked in the hospitality industry all over the world for 40 years and this is absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced Annette Roennebek, Pompano Beach, FLOwner response: This is the first renter in 15 years that had a negative stay at the house. As soon as I heard about the termites I call our pest control company, I called everyday sometimes 2-3 times per day. The owners wife was in the hospital with very serious problems so they were not in the office to get my messages, once they did they got out there right away and took care of the problem the next day. The doors do lock, there are pins that slid into the top of each glass door to lock everyone. I have never had a complaint about the cleaning crew but contacted them and reported the complaint and the candy wrapper behind the TV. I offered the husband to have the cleaning crew come back and clean and he said that would not be necessary. The pool company did come, they come every Thursday, so they were there 2 days before they check in, but then because of the 4th of July they took off a day and showed up the following Fri. They said everyone was in the pool having a great time and they didn't want to ask them all to get out while they added chemicals so they came back the next morning. I did compensate them for there inconvience, I sent them a check for part of the rent, one day before they posted this. I had asked the husband before if I could compensate them in any way and he said no he just wanted me to know the problems with the house so I could correct them. I thanked him and told him I appreciated the concern and help. I can give plenty of referances of people who have stayed there recently and had a wonderful time.

Though my review is a little overdue, I saw this listing and had to write about our outstanding time at this home. We stayed there last year for two weeks and the place was perfect. The listing provided a perfect description of what was actually at the home. It was clean and well-maintained and exceeded our expectations in size and amenities. If I had to say what I disliked, I would have nothing to say! Actually, it was a little large and we would actually get lost looking for one another. There were so many decks, rooms, nooks, and crannies that one could find solitude even with a houseful of people. My favorite activity was starting my book on the Florida Keys and writing each evening while I watched the sunset over the water. The peaceful nature of this house, coupled with the water surrounding it, provided great inspiration for my writing. The pool is magnificent and as you bask in the water, you slowly start to see iguanas gather watching you in the pool. We live in the Pine Barrens of NJ and constantly see deer, turkey, and other wildlife so we felt right at home. It was very cool to see these oversized lizards enjoying the sun while you floated in the pool. The owners left much information that was very interesting and informative. We've vacation in the Keys for 25 years and we still learned new stuff from the books they had made up for their guests. This was a very nice touch. The owner was also very helpful when I had trouble figuring out how to hook up to the Internet, he immediately answered my questions and I was up and running in no time. We had a great time at this home and will hold our memories fondly. This really is a great place to stay if you have a group of people and still want to have privacy. I highly encourage staying at this beautiful home. The Kellys of Southampton, NJRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you, I'm so happy you had a great time.
