These adorable homes were recently renovated and all of the bedrooms have air-conditioning - a must in ever-sunny Puako! We are located at the quiet end of the road, just across from the beach. The sunsets are glorious, and the sea turtles come to rest here almost every evening. These cottages are very private, each is self-contained, and we back onto miles of state land. Relax as you enjoy romantic views of the tidal pond and swaying palm trees in our tropical oasis.

We offer various ways to rent our two homes. You can take the whole property for up to 8 people, or just take the back cottage for a romantic honeymoon. We are happy to accommodate your needs. Just ask.

The front house, Kai Kohola, has two stories. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. You can rent this by itself if you like. We will close off the downstairs studio, and we won’t rent it out, so you will have your privacy. If you want the whole house, you will have a second kitchen, and a private bath because the downstairs is an air-conditioned studio apartment with its own entrance. The house has several tv/dvd players, service for 8, Wi-Fi, new beds and linens.

The back house, Hoku Loa, is the original fisherman’s cottage from 1958. Like the front house, it was recently renovated and newly furnished. It is completely air-conditioned and perfect for a single guest or a romantic couple. We have wireless internet on the whole property and the fishpond separates Hoku Loa from the front home. Very charming, very private, and popular with repeat visitors.

Puako is a laid-back neighborhood known for its Aloha Spirit. Snorkel, dive, hike or drive 5 minutes to first class golf courses, restaurants and spas. Puako has it all, including almost 360 days of sunshine. Click on link below for more information.

  • As experienced scuba divers, my husband and I love Puako and we loved staying at Kai Kohola which is located just across the street from the beach. There is an awesome dive site about 12 houses down the road and another one up toward the church. We just walked in right off the road. The owners dive, so the carport and outdoor shower were set-up for rinsing and storing our gear which was great! The house is cool, all new stuff, fully furnished, lots of towels, a washer and dryer and 3 TV sets! We really liked it and the price was right. This is a great place to stay if you love the beach.   • OH YES! This is a great property that is located just across from the beach where the sea turtles rest almost every evening. The cottages are immaculate and the rattan furnishings made us feel like we were on a movie set for "Blue Hawaii." Everything was perfect. We especially loved the view of Mauna Kea in the mornings and the lovely tidal pond on the property. The nearby snorkeling was great, and we liked hiking to the petroglyphs that are located in the open space lands behind the houses. The weaher in Puako is almost always dry and sunny. We have been visiting here for over 20 years and love these cottages that have just been renovated. We are planning to come back in the very near future. Mahalo and Aloha. Mary B.
